1visualfxguy is a series on YouTube that was created in November of 2013. The main goal of the show is to parody pop culture, celebrities, politics, video gaming, and everything else in a very sarcastic way. The channel started out as nothing but visual effects videos trying to be as weird and surreal as possible, but later the show got into it's current parody format. The series's audience is teenagers and adults because some of the content is mildly inappropriate for younger audiences. Despite the frequent grossout humor and scary scenes, the original audience for the show was kids, until Matthew E. Neuman (the psuedonym of the creator of the show) realized that most of the people who subscribe to him are college students and 20-somethings. The show has later gotten a second channel called 2MattTV, which is a bunch of Saturday Night Live-sketches with a different brand of humor than 1visualFXguy..

  • Ax Crazy - Happens to Monterey Jack from Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers whenever somebody eats his cheese.
  • Balloon Belly: Happens to Kate and Lilly in ALF and Omega 2, also happened to Matt once.
  • Big "Shut Up!": Moss says one to Jen in The E.T. Crowd.
  • Big "NO!": Happens sometimes in the YouTube Poops.
  • Birthday Episode: Zach's birthday special.
  • Biting-the-Hand-Humor: 1visualFXguy frequently makes fun of YouTube (including a jab at YouTube Poop as a whole).
  • Bloodier and Gorier - The later videos in the series have a lot of comedic blood and gore in a similar to vein to Happy Tree Friends. From 2016 onward, the series has almost become a spiritual successor to Happy Tree Friends due to the constant use of blood and guts for comedic affect that can be found on 1visualfxguy.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: Bigfoot actually appears in the Halloween Animutation.
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick : Happens in the ALF and Omega deleted scene when Kate puts her fur in a pie that Humphrey eats.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: 1visualFXguy breaks the fourth wall almost as much as Deadpool.

  • Black Comedy: 1visualFXguy is filled to the brim with this trope. Many of the jokes involve death and depression (especially later on in the series).

  • Cloudcuckoolander: The portrayal of many characters including Gabi, Jellbean, and Percy from Clarence.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: As of 2017, the series uses the terms "shit", "dick", and "asshole" entirely uncensored on a regular basis.
  • Continuity Nod: Some videos will reference the events of other videos most notably the two Sesame Street fur parodies.
  • Crap Saccharine World:A lot of crap happens to the characters in Matt's YTPs and then they always seem happy in the next video.
  • Cringe Comedy : The newer episodes are extremely reliant on this;so much so that it could easily be mistaken as a horror series rather than comedy by people who don't understand the concept of dark humor.
  • Crossover: Happens with 2MattTV once.
  • Cutaway Gag: Almost as many as Family Guy (some of which are even directly inspired by Family Guy, the use of Conway Twitty being the most notable one).

  • Didn't We Use This Joke Already? : Parodied in the second Sesame Street fur YouTube Poop.
  • Disney Acid Sequence: This trope gets made fun of when Sniffles the anteater from Happy Tree Friends makes a machine that sends him into the film Halloween is Grinch Night.
  • Downer Ending: At the end of ALF and Omega, Lilly gets into chocolate and dies.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The episode where the Crack Master from Sesame Street appears on Matt's wall.
  • Everything's Worse with Bears: The main villain of Will Derness Episode 3 is a bear.
  • Eye Scream: Matt pops his own eye out in "Effects Compilation".

F-J[]

  • Fantastic Voyage Plot: Matt shrunk down and went inside his clone once. The plot is done again in a Happy Tree Friends YTP which Sniffles shrinks down and goes into Giggles's body (instead of going in Lumpy like in the original episode).
  • Fan Service - The whole point of the extremely long Star Wars, DC Comics, and Harry Potter themed episodes (often featuring obscure references to the franchise in question just to make extreme fanboy nerds happy).
  • Furry Confusion : Rooster Suave can actually talk, where Spot and the other animals can't.
  • Getting Crap Past the Radar: One episode uses the term Cleveland Steamer uncensored. Another notable example is a skit that uses the word "fag" uncensored in a double entendre involving the British term for cigarette.
  • Gross-Out Show : A lot of the jokes found in skits (both new and old) involve either extreme gory violence or immature references to puke and shit, this dates back to the very beginning of first season.

K-O[]

  • Killed Off For Real : Lilly in the ALF and Omega series (it's been established that she's a ghost in the sequels)
  • Large Ham: Nearly every character on the show, especially Matt, Richie, and Bill o Neil.
  • Lighter and Softer: The older episodes didn't have as much violence, cussing, and innuendos
  • Muppet: The recurring character Jim (named after Jim Henson) is actually a Muppet made by the Jim Henson's Creature Shop, as confirmed in "Swiss News Live at the Library".

  • Overly Long Gag: The video of Peter Griffin dancing to the entire 2 minute intro of the song Bat Out of Hell.

P-T[]

  • Punny Name: Several of the more immature jokes revolve around this trope. It is often used similarly to Bart Simpson's prank calls to Moe's Bar.
  • Recycled Script: Some of the jokes appear in more than one poop.
  • Reference Overdosed: 1visualFXguy lives and breathes this trope with over 1,000 allusions referencing everything that was popular in the past three years listed on one Wikia page.
  • Running Gag: Peter Griffin doing Bird is the Word whenever birds are mentioned. Conway Twitty has also become a running gag as a homage to Family Guy.
  • Sadly Mythtaken: The Hercules YouTube Poop is SO far from the actual story, that title actually IS Sadly MythTaken.
  • Self-Deprecation: Matt frequently makes fun of his other channel 2MattTV by both praising it and calling it garbage.
  • Shout-Out: Close to over 9,000 (hey, that was a Shout Out to Dragon Ball right there) things are listed on the Allusions pages on the official 1visualFXguy wiki.
  • Shrink Ray: Matt has one that he often uses on himself and other characters.
  • Slapstick: Another popular style of comedy along with dark humor and toilet humor.
  • The Smurfette Principle:This trope is made fun of in a news skits where Papa Smurf dies of blueballs and everyone in town blames it on Smurfette.
  • Subverted Kids Show: Some of the darker sketches are actually parodies of shows for little kids. Also a lot of the skits are about Happy Tree Friends, Robot Chicken, Futurama, Beavis and Butt-Head, South Park, Family Guy and other adult shows that could easily be mistaken for children's entertainment.
  • Take That: Plenty, it would take practically all day to list them all. The movie Norm of the North gets a serious take that on one occasion. Heck, it seems as though the entire reason the ALF and Omega series exists is to criticize the Alpha & Omega franchise.
  • Talking Animal: Rooster has the ability to talk.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Matt has gotten shot, stabbed, blown up, ran over, eaten, stepped on, and flushed down the toilet but always comes back to life Happy Tree Friends-style in the next video.
  • Toilet Humor: When the series isn't a bloody gore fest or a ridiculous parody of an obscure source, this is often the style of humor being used.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Monterey Jack loves cheese, Nutty of Happy Tree Friends fame loves candy, and Aquaman unsurprisingly has a huge appetite for fish.

U-Z[]

  • Uncanceled: Wagon Wheel was originally going to be the series finale and it was supposed to end in late 2014, but thanks to the series getting TONS more views, it came back to YouTube in January 2015.
  • Visual Pun: Plenty have been made in both his YouTube Poops and Animutations.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: Happens a few times, most notably in the Family Guy YouTube Poops.
  • What Do You Mean It's Not for Kids?: Matthew E. Neuman (the creator of 1visualFXguy) has confirmed over his Wiki that just like Family Guy and The Simpsons, 1visualFXguy is aimed at adults.
  • Yandere: Jellybean in the Doodle Toons YouTube Poops is MUCH more of a stalker that she is in cartoonlover98's official canon, especially considering her inspiration is Gabi the frog from Rio 2.
