Being one of the funniest novels ever written in the English language, A Confederacy of Dunces naturally has a lot of funny moments. The most side-splitting, however, would have to be:

  • The inimitable climax, when virtually all of the characters converge at the "Night of Joy", Darlene's striptease ends in disaster, Reilly is in the gutter, and Lana Lee is arrested by Mancuso in a glorious Throw the Dog a Bone moment.
  • Ignatius leading the Levy Pants factory workers in a rebellion, especially when you consider that the only reason he did so was because he wanted to see someone bash in Mr. Gonzales's head.
  • "Twelve inches of Paradise." The phrase really refers to Paradise brand foot-long hot dogs, but think of something else that is really long and can bring people pleasure.
