  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Replace "scaring" with "magic," and the parallels between this series and Harry Potter are just downright eerie.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The "Internal Affairs" episode in which Ickis and Krumm go inside of Oblina. Given this show's ugly-ass artstyle, many children were profoundly sickened by it.
    • The similar "This Is Your Brain on Ickis" episode in which Ickis goes into the body of Simon might count, too; however, this troper never had a problem with it. Add the Paranoia Fuel aspect that monsters can tickle your brain, and yep, shicks are brit.
  • Ugly Cute: Ickis. Actually, most of the monsters had this tendency, but in Ickis' case his appearance made it more difficult for him to be taken seriously.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: The Gromble wears lipstick and has a collection of high-heeled shoes.
