The main protagonist. He is a male student at Yokaikan High School. He is a rugged and self-centered person. He has a hobby of collecting knives. Although he looks at women with a cold eye, stating that they are "nothing special," he is also portrayed as caring for the girls around him in some way. Ryota Osaka played the role of Shinya in a promotional video commemorating the release of the third volume.

Mitane Mei

Although her last name is different from his, she is Shinya's younger sister and calls him "big brother. She has large, slightly upturned eyes and short bob of black hair. She attends Jouga Girls' High School.

She is very possessive of Shinya and is obsessed with him, as she "checks the history of Shinya's cell phone and deletes it if she finds a ringtone she doesn't recognize and does not allow Shinya to have friends of the opposite sex.

Yoruko Banjo

Yoruko Banjo

A female student at Yokaikan High School. She has long, straight hair with straight bangs and long, slit eyes hidden in a thin shadow. She wears black tights. She sees Satsuki as dangerous and warns Shinya not to get involved, but he refuses to listen to her. Shinya was the lord of a small fiefdom in her previous life, and Yoruko was a knight who protected him. She calls Shinya "Shinya-sama" treats him in a submissive and polite tone, and refers to Shinya's younger sister as Sei-kun.

Okui Akane

A female student at Yokaikan High School. She is a vampire and a friend of Shinya's.

She is so sensitive to sunlight that she cannot go out without a parasol and sunscreen and never goes to school on sunny days. She has twin-tail hair, night-blind eyes, white skin, and fang-like teeth.

She lives off of human blood. She has caused problems in the past many times including an incident in which she suddenly bit a classmate and sucked his blood. She seems to prefer the taste of Shinya's blood, referring to it as delicious.

Shikimura Masami

A female honor student at Yokaikan High School. She is known as an honor student in school. She has slightly wavy hair and glasses. She is a friend of Shinya's. She is a masochist, and when Shinya discovers this, she has him tag with her as a valuable playmate during BDSM sessions. She met Shinya when they were in junior high school.

Ikari Satsuki

She uses "Arashi" rather than "Atashi" when addressing herself in the first person. She is the culprit behind several serial murders that have been occurring in Kisaragi City. Ten years ago, she was a crybaby and always followed Shinya around, but she moved far away and met him again a decade later.

She is described by Shinya as "the most time-consuming woman." Her daily routine is to organize her collection of stolen images of Shinya.

Tomoto Suzuki

A male high-school teacher. He was proud that his students liked him, but in his true nature, he was a man with an abnormal propensity to rape and murder girls and had already killed three prior to his first appearance. During his monologue, he states, "I have already abandoned my humanity."
