Космические пираты Крыс и Весельчак У (Space pirates Rat and Jolly U)[]
- Complete Monster: The pirates have total atrophy of conscience, the one problem future science cannot heal. They tried to destroy the atmosphere of an entire planet in order to kill one bird. Jolly U has actually sold his mother into slavery. Later books are... somewhat inconsistent about that. A later book shows them actually treating Alice like an old friend (sincerity undetermined).
- Later we are introduced to whole family of truly monstrous pirates: one of them not only robs starships but also jettisons all the passengers into space just for lulz, his brother uses child slave labor at his plantation, under a front of an orphanage, no less, and their father abducted a whole bunch of brilliant scientists and forces them to invent all kinds of nasty stuff for him, threatening to murder their families.
- Enemy Mine: Used to be enemies before the police busted most of their operations. Their current alliance is built on nothing but convenience, and they state openly they'll betray each other without hesitation.
