Please take Values Dissonance in mind, since Japan has a higher threshold on what's acceptable for kids.

• In Episode 5 of Fooly Cooly, "Brittle Bullet," Kamon Nandaba is wearing a full-fledged Nazi uniform with a genuine SWASTIKA on the sash. Given that Japan played a major role in World War II, this is defying the censors at its fullest. The American dub doesn't try one bit to hide it, though the mature audience probably knows it's Played for Laughs. A channel-flipping or web-browsing soccer mom, however... will be screaming bloody murder if they catch eye of the offending symbol. Way to push the envelope, Gainax...
  • Of course... one haven't even scratched the surface of all the things this anime tries to get away with, such as pulling a naughty tentacle out of a kid's head that turns out to be a guitar, then cutting to a scene of female officers with massive Nosebleeds, or Canti removing the 12-year-old Eri's panties on screen (plus briefly showing her bare ass), or Haruko's Playboy Bunny getup. The title itself can be construed as a term for "sex."
• Non-dub example: Revolutionary Girl Utena, the classic mindscrew shoujo, aired on a children's time slot in Japan...which means the characters never once say the word "sex". But Utena is NOT a kid's show, and one of the morals is that having sex to become mature is dangerous. Instead of outright talking about sex, the characters pull swords from each other's bodies, get dressed after "encounters", have shirts-open, sexually-charged photography sessions, kiss the tip of a sword to give it superpowers, throw their heads back and moan at the throb of a car's engine, and, oh yeah, roll around shirtless with their flies open on beds with each other. Much more appropriate.
  • A more specific example is episode 33. Utena is lying on a bed but we only see her face, her bare shoulder, and her hand as she babbles about food and what she should make for lunch tomorrow. At some point she bites on her knuckle, then keeps speaking about the meal in an increasingly desperate and moaning tone. The animators stop getting crap past the radar and downright push it down when she shudders and shivers repeatedly, then goes still for a millisecond and breathlessly gasps "Tell me..." while the screen goes to black. Soon we see her hand... which holds on a man's dark skinned own. Oh yeah, Utena just had sex with Akio, on-screen. Even worse: she's thirteen/fourteen and he's a lot older..
• Somehow, in Saki, the subbers got away with this particular scene: In one of the later episodes, after Nodoka returns to the Kiyosumi meeting place, Mako gives her a banana. Kyoutaro, who has a major crush on Nodoka, reacts to the banana in a very...well, let's just say, it comes off as a complete shock it passed the censors.
• Suzumiya Haruhi got away with Haruhi stripping Mikuru in the clubroom and forcefully changing her. Kyon, the narrator always rush out of the room if he's already in it. It's lampshaded in The Abridging of Haruhi Suzumiya that Haruhi could be raping Mikuru.
  • In the novels, Haruhi actually does attempt to reach under Mikuru's skirt until Kyon stops her.
• .hack//Sign somehow managed to have a lesbian couple. Hi, Tsukasa and Subaru.
  • If it helps, one didn't know she was a girl for a large part of the series, and was actually playing a male character. B.T.? Is the female version of a Wave Master. Tsukasa is an outwardly male character through most of the series. It's only the last episode where it's pointed out that Tsukasa really is female. There are a couple of places where it's suggested she is female, but for the most part, the audience is allowed to be content in the fact that she is a he.
    • Add in the Mind Screw Tsukasa was put through, including dying at least once, it's no wonder she got confused about what she was.
• The English translation of Samurai Pizza Cats has Guido and Polly looking for a lost Speedy on Prisoner Island in one episode. They discover the far half has been turned into a beach resort. Polly says, "Gosh, I'm amazed." Guido sees all the cute girls and says, "Gosh, I'm aroused!"
  • The narrator also got away with saying, "orgy of destruction" in the very first episode.
  • Also in the first was this whopper of a poem.

Guido Anchovy: There once was a beauty named Lucille, whose pretty puss could make a pussycat reel.

• • • In fairness, "puss" is also an antiquated slang for "face"—still survives in some aspects in the term "sourpuss". Maybe THAT is how they got away with it...
• In the midst of all its Bowdlerisation, the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX dub still had its moments:

Alexis: Well, you haven't grown up too much. Pierre: My! You have.

• • Or when Chazz pays the Ojamas a rare compliment:

Chazz: You're the aces of my deck! Ojama Black: Did you say... Ojama Green: "Aces"? Ojama Yellow: That really hurts, boss! Aren't you tired of insulting us?

• • Bastion's night with Taniya is way more ambiguous in the original. Nothing's more kid-friendly than the distant screams of a possibly-brainwashed teenaged Celibate Hero being raped by a Hot Amazon.
  • Don't forget the time Jaden called Hassleberry "Dingleberry" during their first duel.
  • IN an attempt to remove references of hermaphroditism, Yubel was changed to purely female in the dub. 1) her left leg is still definitively male. 2) Her past life is very obviously voiced by a man. IN attempting to remove filthy unsightly material, they turned Yubel into a Transexual and this made the main character gay. Wow.
  • Orlando's victory dance and song:

"Rah rah ree, kick 'em in the knee! Rah rah rut, kick 'em in the other knee!"

• • • It's been done before, and that one would probably even be acceptable if the rhyme wasn't subverted.
  • Nothing from Duel Monsters Spirit Day, yet? Syrus suggested that Alexis dress up as Dark Magician Girl...but...she had a different idea. Then, it cuts to a close-up of boobs, then a butt...only to reveal that Dorothy is wearing the Dark Magician Girl costume!

Chumley: C'mon! You don't think Dorothy pulls that off? Syrus: Pull it off? Don't put that image into my brain, please Chum!

• Talking about 4Kids, in the English dub of DM, episode 132, for some seconds you can hear Kaiba and Yami moaning. In a very suggestive way...
• Speaking of moaning, in episode 127, Kaiba practically climaxes when Marik summons his god card. It was apparently naughty enough to be missing completely in the dub version.
  • In an episode of the manga and in the Japanese version of the anime, Yugi and a brainwashed Jounouchi are dueling against each other in a death match. At the end, Yugi decides to fire the final blow against himself, so that the other could get saved. While explaining his intentions to Jounouchi, he tells him "Daisukida". As you might know, the verb "suki" means "to love", but it can also mean "like" and be used without having other implications. Whatever your personal translation of this line might be, it's worth to notice that the Viz Comics version of the manga literally translates it with "I love you".
• This blink-and-you-miss-it shot from episode 94 of Yu Gi Oh! 5D's. Just wow, Japan.
• In both the original and the dub of G Gundam, one has to watch Rain Mikamura suiting up to use the Shining Gundam when she's in a pinch and Domon's not around to pilot it. Her squeals are supposed to be of pain, since it's the first time she uses the Trace System (involving a particularly... tight version of the Latex Space Suit); but both Jennifer Holder (English VA) and Yuri Amano (Japanese seiyuu, who HAS done voice work in R and NC17-rated series and games) make Rain sound like she's having an orgasm. The fact that there's a LOT of Male Gaze during that scene, including close-ups to her beautiful ass, does NOT help por Rain's case.

• In Axis Powers Hetalia, China meets a Hello Kitty rip-off named Shinatty-chan. "Shina" is a Japanese word for "Chinese" that is roughly comparable to the word "Negro" in the US; a formerly neutral word made charged by its derogatory use in history.
  • There's a recurring joke about some characters "invading" someone's "vital regions", and others either noting how inappropriate it sounds or making even more inappropriate comments...

Austria: That was sad. My vital regions, forcefully seized by Prussia... Empress Marie Therese: ... That sounded kind of lewd, you know.

Austria: Prussia has occupied my vital regions! Summon the soldiers! They must be retaken immediately! Empress Maria Theresa: Er, there are more decent expressions for it...

• England refers to Germany as a "Kraut", a slur for Germans used by the Allies in World War II, on more than one occasion. Additionally, the Allies-and-Axis sketches on the Allied meeting chalkboard have Germany labled as "Kraut"...and Italy as "wop."
  • Somehow in the dubbed version, Romano says to Germany "I've got a surprise for you!" It's a mustache. Germany replies "What? Another Jew?" How in pasta's name did they get THAT past the radar? Well to be fair, Hetalia is known for being inappropriate by most people in the non-Japanese world, and then the dub added EVEN MORE "problematic stuff".
    • There was another moment like this from the dub, where Italy sneaks up on and shocks Germany, who immediately stands up and yells at him, " Are you wanting me to gas you?!" Wow.
  • The original version of "Battle for America" had another one of these. When Finland mentions seeing a little child around (baby America), Sweden asks him if he wants to have a child, and after letting Finland gush some over little America more he promises to do "his best". Since Sweden calls Finland "his wife", this implies that Sweden might have thought of having sex with Finland and see if he can get him pregnant...
  • Let's not forget the Italy brother's curls being an erogenous spot. Makes you wonder about Turkey, Greece, Canada, America, Taiwan and Korea. And, especially the player himself, Rome, who has THREE individual curls. And this is the man who grandfathered the Italies.
  • There's also the scene where it is implied that Japan and Greece had sex, but then Japan declares that it was just a bad dream. While he's naked, or at least shirtless. And Greece is sleeping right next to him, also naked or shirtless.
    • And in the Sexy Discretion Shot China complains that they were "so noisy, aru!"
  • There's a scene where Rome comes back to visit Italy and spends the night conversing with Germany. At one point Rome asks if Germany has ever had sex. Germany says no. So what does Rome say? "Oh so you like boys then? I always wanted to do that but..." and Germany also denies this in his usual uptight fashion.
  • There's a partwhere Rome asks Germany if he's ever masturbated. Germany also says no, to which Rome replies by getting on his knees and raising his hands in a prayer position saying "You must be a Saint!".
  • Germany's reaction to finding Italy in his bed "How the Holy Fuhrer!" Note that, again, it's only in the English dub.
• In the Sonic the Hedgehog anime, Sonic gives Dark Eggman Metal Robotnik the finger. (Maybe. It's hard to tell since he only has 4 fingers.) Later on, we learn that since Metal Sonic and Sonic share the same data; each can see what the other sees. Then Sonic is shown cringing and twitching around. Cut to Metal Sonic in a position that would allow him to look up Sarah's dress. Though, in this case, he could just be twitching around in pain because he just landed crotch-first on the angular tip of Robotnik's hovecraft.
  • Then, after a crash, this memorable exchange is made:

Knuckles: Tails! Get off! Tails: I so sawwy! I'm so sorry! Knuckles: I never thought you'd stoop so low!

• Yoshihiro Togashi has a habit of sneaking in subtle and unsubtle references to fetishism and other deviant behaviors in his works, as well as extremely symbolic imagery; but this page from Yu Yu Hakusho takes the cake (might be NOT worksafe despite getting published.) The editors must have all been drunk that day.
• Burst Angel: In the Beach Episode, there is a scapegoated environmental group called the "Organization for the Nature Preservation of Tokyo". This gets the acronym "ONPOT".
  • And then there's Sei's VERY Stripperiffic swimsuit, which would likely require glue and "careful positioning" to wear without violating decency laws.
  • Jo leaps onto a giant tentacle near the end of an episode.
• In the 4Kids dub of Kirby Right Back At Ya, a fairly light-hearted anime about a pink puffball who fights an affably evil penguin named King Dedede, Dedede sets up a fake monster that destroys a model of Cappy Town on TV and tricks everyone into thinking it's real. When Kirby gets onto the set, he appears huge; one of the viewers remarks, "Looks like someone's been feeding Kirby steroids!"
  • Also in Kirby, we get Bouncy Tiff, which made it into the 4Kids dub with less editing than you'd expect.
  • I'm not sure if this made it into the dub, but in the Escargon Robo episode there is a moment that, when taken out of context, looks like King Dedede is raping Escargon.
• Speaking of 4Kids, they kept the Transformation Sequence in their dub of Tokyo Mew Mew. Same with YTV and their recent Pretty Cure dub. Take that as you will.
  • The Tokyo Mew Mew ones were changed.
• Excel Saga: After seeing an example of Excel's ability to distinguish the value of objects stuck in small holes using just her fingers, she brings up Excel's "daily finger training", which Excel says "isn't training".
  • In an inversion of the trope, episode 26 is full of content that wouldn't make it past the radar. No, they did not air episode 26, not even in Japan.
  • It is also implied that Excel gets raped by Ropponmatsu unit 2. As the robot pounces on her, the screen shifts to a slide show of images, including a glass of spilt milk. Excel then proceeds to make a comment about getting violated.
• In The Prince of Tennis, Momoshirou and the three first-years are spying on his best friend Ryoma and Ryuzaki-sensei's granddaughter Sakuno, thinking they have a date (They aren't). He notices Ryoma's dad Nanjirou peeping on them too, but Momo doesn't know who he is and...

Momo: He must be following her!

• • And then there's Shiraishi's Catch Phrase... "Oooooh, ECSTASY!"
• Mahou Sensei Negima has some pretty risque moments, but there are a few instances of Visual Innuendo that are so incredibly blatant that they must have been intentional. Such as panel five of this (long, thick, and furry?) and this, both of which are rather inventive in their placement of Weasel Mascot Chamo. Then there's this, which probably has more incredibly obvious Freudian imagery than almost any other page in the manga.
  • An even more blatant one is this, where Ken Akamatsu illustrates a character essentially having an orgasm, and getting away with it because the character is a robot, who rather enjoys the recharging process. In practice, she is a wind up doll getting screwed.
    • Alluded again when Chachamaru tries to recharge herself without help. Yeah, it looked like that. Eagerly lampshaded by Evangeline, who walks on her and totally acts as if she caught Chachamaru with her skirt up.
  • The trope is actually being everted (no, not a spelling mistake), not played straight. When Ken Akamatsu was beginning to write Negima, he wanted to do a Shounen action series, but his publisher wanted another Fan Service Harem Series to follow Love Hina, so Akamatsu was forced to start the series off with tons of Fan Service and risque humor. That's right, to get a PG-Level action plot "under the radar" he had to add all sorts of nudity and innuendo. Only in Japan.
  • Fate did this to Asuna.
• Needless' Ending. DEAR! GOD!!. The entire show is just a few little notches away from being a complete hentai. In episode one, when juice is spilled, the main female lead turns to the camera, with the white juice drink all over her and says, in a moe fashion "...I've been tainted.."
• This troper just watched an ep of Bakugan Battle Brawlers, featuring Julie and her 'boyfriend's' Cycloid and Hammer Golem vs. the female Tricloid. It's not the 'double team' being implied, it's the scene with the two giant Bakugans holding their human partners in their hands - and the human kids are deliberately standing right behind their middle fingers, symbolically 'extending' them.
• Digimon Tamers takes the radar-passing material beyond the previous seasons. i.e, Calumon delivers this absolute GEM when he's around the Bridge Bunnies Reika and Megumi:

Calumon: Calumon, zoom zoom, here a zoom, there a zoom! Calumon, zoom zoom, NO UNDERWEAR, ZOOM!

• Black Butler has a penchant for double entendres, especially in the second series.
• While tame in comparison to some of the others on this page, in Spirited Away, when the workers in the bathhouse were kissing up to No Face, the foreman was singing. One of his lines: "His butt keeps getting bigger, so there's plenty more to kiss!"
  • This was apparently an ad lib by the American voice actor, the original Japanese line was different.
• A hilarious instance happens in the anime of Rurouni Kenshin. At some point, Kaoru imagines Kenshin proposing to her and then, um, well... the two of them are suddenly hidden by the bushes and then a flower falls off a nearby branch, complete with Kaoru crying out Kenshin's name passionately. (Cut to Kaoru who has passed out on the street from the sheer hotness of the mental image).
• Nothing to do with a dub, this troper is surprised the Japanese radar let it through. (Does Japan have a radar...?) A blatant metaphor for sexual intercourse happens in one episode of Shugo Chara!. Keep in mind that this is a Magical Girl aimed at elementary schoolers. Amu and Ikuto (note that she's in elementary school and he's in high school) decide to try and find out what would happen if he put his "key" into her "lock". She blushes as he brings the key closer and closer to the lock, slowly, it's like they're in a world all their own... when she blurts out "I'm scared!" and he discovers that his key is too big. Ahem. Yeah, it's an actual key and lock, but...
• A little-known gesture of implied rape in Japanese culture involves the Shogun grabbing the waistband of his consort and ripping it off so hard that she spins several circles and falls on the bed with her clothes splayed open. Keroro Gunsou has turned this one into a Running Gag in at least two of its movies.
  • It gets invoked once in Melody of Oblivion.
  • Let's not forget the fourteenth episode of Azumanga Daioh, where this is hinted at by Tomo when the girls are discussing new yukata.
  • Also, this was how Gene defeats Suzuka on Outlaw Star.
  • Happens in Nerima Daikon Brothers as well.
  • In episode 12 of Mawaru Penguindrum, #2 does this to #3. (They're penguins, by the way.) She retaliates by tying him up in shibari (Japanese bondage). Made even funnier by Himari making some very... ahem, special comments as she cooks cabbages in the background.
• Speaking of Azumanga Daioh, in the first episode Yukari tells her class that they'll be getting a new stude, adding that "it was no small trick getting her, either". This in itself is rather innocuous, but the wink immediately afterwards heavily implies certain illicit activities...
• The three Zentraedi spies in Macross are named Warera, Loli and Canda. Put their names together and they're spelled "warera Lolicon da" aka "we are pedophiles" in Japanese. Holy...
  • Keep in mind, this is (marginally) more acceptable to admit in Japan. Just look at the character design for Disgaea.
• The 5th episode of Pumpkin Scissors: sex, Eternal Sexual Freedom number 2 and apparently Oland has a big penis.
• Hayate the Combat Butler: episode 10 starts with Nagi playing a game on her "Anal Computer" console; it's written in Atari-stylized English to make it unrecognizable to most of the original Japanese audience.
• In Shokojo Sera, a whole scene is dedicated to this. When Sara is sent to fetch the alcoholic Dr. Wilde to treat Amelia Minchin, she has to enter a seedy area where she passes several "women of easy virtue", almost has the contents of a chamber pot dropped on her head, and finally finds him in a bar, where he is completely inebriated and makes a suggestive comment at her. Whoa, considering this is a series for kids...
• Carl Macek, who is known for "editing" anime when it's licensed for the U.S., recently expressed his shock and amazement in a podcast with Anime News Network concerning his work done when editing Captain Harlock for U.S. television. Mainly, the Mazon-aliens in said show were always naked, and there was even a live childbirth on the show (which Macek left intact), and nobody ever said anything. Even people who watched the show never minded it!
• When Death Note was shown on adult swim, the opening theme was played uncensored. Some of the lyrics include "Hey, hey, ningen sucker, ah ningen ningen fucker." Slipped past because most of the song is in Japanese, so any censors may have assumed that was too.
  • A clever subtitle switch helped, too. The opening theme played the first verse of the song, which has the "sucker" and "fucker" lines. But the subtitles that went alongside them were actually for the second verse, which didn't.
    • This is a case of an intentional Mondegreen by the lyricist. The lyrics officially say san-ka and fuan-ka throughout most of the song, and that's what was translated to give the subtitles, but the lyrics make more sense if you use the english words they sound like instead. AS for what actually gets said? It's quite hard to tell, but even the official lyrics say sucker and fucker close to the end of the song.
  • Has everyone forgotten the "Light looks at soft porn to make L think that he's just a normal teenager" scene. Where is Light's other hand? Why is L still watching a teenager at least eight years young than him?
  • Like L is one to talk, since several of the scenes where he's seen eating sweets look suspiciously erotic.
• Oruchuban Ebichu is built entirely around this trope, although it's more of a case of flinging tons and tons of crap at the radar and getting most of it past. While many things did get censored before making it to broadcast, so many more did not. The best example this troper can think of is the eyecatch. Frequently it would be three Japanese characters, slot machine-style, where the first and last character were set at "ma" and "ko", and the middle character was changed rapidly through the Japanese alphabet, landing on something innocuous. Although it never stuck on "n", the character would flip by as part of the rotation, and the word those three characters form is a very derogatory term for a lady's privates and would never make it past the radar.
  • However? Said word was out loud said at least once in the series itself. By Ebichu herself, while talking on the phone... to her mistress's zoophile friend. Who pretty much has an ORGASM when he hears it.
• Shaman King had a dowser named Lyserg Diethel. His spirit companion is named Morphea.
  • Also, it's all but stated that Yoh and Anna had sex (and maybe even Their First Time) right before he left Japan to join the Shaman Tournament. Talking outside while wearing night yukatas? Okay. While (in the anime) being the only two in the Big Fancy House Yoh lives in (even Amidamaru isn't around)? Ho hum. Anna dropping her Tsundere nature and asking Yoh if they can sleep in the same room, with Yoh calmly saying yes? Uh...
    • Confirmed in the canon future story of the manga featuring their son, Hana, once you trace his age to Yoh's and Anna's timeline in the Shaman Tournament. Anna even has an entry in the Pregnant Badass trope, as she was in the early stages of pregnancy during almost the entirety of the fight after it left Tokyo. Talk about Yoh having a badass of a fiance.
• Yui summoning Seiryuu. Seriously.
  • Well. .. they do say the priestess is to merge/join with the called god. . .
• Doraemon. "And how" doesn't even describe how many Getting Crap Past the Radar moments the show features. It needs to be seen to be believed.
• In Dragonball Kai, or atleast the Nicktoons broadcast, when Only a Chilling Elegy plays for the second time when Gohan is powering up to attempt to attack Final Form Frieza. Technically, the initial chant has "Hell will be revealed" in it and it was played unedited on the Nicktoons broadcast. Seeing as how Nicktoons ordinarily censors any mention of hell, even by place, it is presumed that Funimation managed to slip it by because it isn't in English.
  • This trooper would like to know how Funimation managed to get this past Nicktoons' radar.
• Robotech has so many things that got past censors that it's a wonder why they picked on Carl Macek so much.
  • Dana Sterling clearly calls Nova Satori a "tramp". Although there are two definitions, the non-sexual definition (that of a vagrant) refers to males only and only in British English.
  • In the Robotech (New Generation) episode when Scott and friends visit New York, they encounter a character named Simon who speaks very effeminately, stereotypically gay.
  • Annie outright calls an Invid shocktrooper a "fag" while chucking a snowball in the blizzard episode of New Generation.
  • In the Trap episode, Sean gives following line: "I've seen more action on a Sunday School picnic.", a very adult line.
  • In the episode Blitzkrieg, the following dialogue takes place.
    • Minmei: "Rick, all of the soldiers who come to the restaurant are in the same position."
    • Rick Hunter: "The same position...You'd be the one to know, wouldn't you Minmei!"

• • In two episodes of Robotech Macross, there are scenes in a bar where a character says "I think you've had enough, especially if you're going to drive." In a the Masters episode "Love Story", to get another character out of trouble a sacrificial lamb offers the clever alibi concerning "...got his hands on a bottle of whisky and a jeep and decided to go on a rampage". Alchohol references at that time were always cut out of anime. Lynn Kyle showed how violent and nasty he gets when he drinks. Also, the Masters segment has several instances of underage characters such as Dana and Marie consuming alchohol (the legal drinking age is lower in Japan).
  • An episode of Robotech Masters also had Louie saying "Forward through shot and shell. Here we go into the mouth of hell." The word "hell", regardless of context, was definitely considered taboo in cartoons. As was mentioning "God" by name. And Robotech did this often. It did have two scenes where characters crossed themselves.
  • The final episode features a Freudian phallic reference where the shaft of energy (representing the Invid leaving earth) for a split second takes on a penile shape. In a moment of homage, Robotech Shadow Chronicles considered recreating this scene but thought better of it. It can be seen in the deleted scenes feature of the DVD.
  • When Robotech first reaired on Cartoon Network, a scene was left in of a soldier comforting a crying child being disintegrated onscreen during the attack of the Zentradi Armada. This scene was cut out of future airings, but it is in the DVDs.
• Gurren Lagann features the Camp Gay mechanic Leeron. Listening closely to his theme song reveals that the electronic vocals spelling out letters in the background are saying "He loves my asshole". On a Sunday-morning cartoon.
  • The song "My XXX Is The Best In The Universe" includes the lyric "I'll bust another rhyme while you ain't gonna do shit!". Complete with emphasis on the last word. Gratuitous English or not, that would never get into an English-language kid's show.
  • Episode 6.
    • ...did not make it past the radar. The version broadcast on Japanese TV was heavily edited.
    • In Australia they showed the uncensored version of episode 6 on TV. Well, it was shown at 9:30pm so...
• In the italian manga of Fairy Tail there's Wendy's spell "Toroia", which sounds awfully similar to the Italian word "Troia", a.k.a Bitch.
  • The Tower of Paradise arc had obvious allusions to S/M when a Brainwashed and Crazy Juvia spanks Lucy. Lucy then exclaims that it's sadism, and Juvia responds by calling Lucy a "maso bitch".
  • Aquarius has also spanked Lucy.
  • The scene where Juvia boasts to Lucy that, "Gray was inside Juvia, not you."
  • At some point, Gray is trying to teach Juvia how to eat a very weird sandwich. The whole deal SCREAMS Erotic Eating.
• How Gintama even managed to air during children/family hour uncut is probably a Crowning Moment of Awesome for its producers by itself. For starters, one episode involves strip gambling in a casino, with the characters ending up totally nude, save the Pixellation. And how about the episode where Gin's penis got turned into a screwdriver, complete with "screwing" action at the end. Also, Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon and Tower of Babel. There are so many outrageous things they manage to air that you start to doubt whether censorship exists in Japan.
• Seitokai Yakuindomo That's all.
• Mitsudomoe has plenty of these.
• Slayers TRY lampshades/parodies/somethings this around the halfway point, when the team travels to Mount Koorinae, a mountain that has the shape of a huge coiling piece of... well, crap. Amelia begins to note it looks like a "pile of shit", only to be cut off by Lina before she can say the last word, with Lina reprimanding that such language is unfit of a princess.
• In Koihime Musou, while describing the Nanban elephant, it is mentioned that part of its body is long, strong, and moves on its own. And in another episode, a group of bandits capture Ryuubi, and they later declare that they would "take care" of Ryuubi. And as you may have guessed, they get their butts handed to them.
• Ojamajo Doremi Dokkan! episode 19 is full of this. Hazuki becomes a Covert Pervert when she sees a boy running around naked. And this is a Magical Girl show aimed at pre-teen children...
  • There's also Onpu groping Mutsumi's breast, Mutsumi making a rather suggestive remark about Hasebe encouraging her to wrestle, and shots of the boys doing their business in the bathroom. Not to mention, despite that it was sung by a bunch of adults in-show, the insert song, "Namida no Broken Heart", has some racy sexual imagery in its lyrics about a summer fling...
  • Faaaaar from it. Some episodes have buttocks used for comedy, episodes mentioning puberty and even double entendres.
  • The first season episode where Hazuki is kidnapped while depowered (by who she would help become popular comedians by the end of the episode) has LOTS of Freudian imaginery. When the other girls come to the rescue, the first thing they see is (through the window) is one of Hazuki's kidnappers standing next to her... while she's in a corner... and crying "no, don't"... Seriously, the guy does NOT intend to molest her (he just wanted her to listen to his terrible jokes), but it gives such an oh-so-wrong impression...
• In an accidental example, it's worth pointing out that for their runs of Vision of Escaflowne, both Fox Kids and YTV managed to miss (several times) Merle's bare butt.
• In the beginning of Episode 5 of Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight, it sounds like Mei is reading porn aloud for the class. Since it is read in choppy English, it's probable that the censors Did Not Do the Research on what the paragraph meant.
• In Dragon Ball, Frieza says, "Stay with it. Yee-Haw! That's it buck-a-roo. Ride 'em cowboy!" as he impales Krillin and bucks him up and down his horn. Subverted that it was only in the uncut version, due to the graphic violence of the scene.
• A much more lighthearted example from Dragonball, during Vegeta's description of how he obtained Super Saiyan. He notes that he travels to space, to avoid "the distractions of the Earth". Innocent, until one realises that Trunks was born within the three year time period before the androids, and Bulma was helping take care of Vegeta until he left for space. In short, Bulma probably rivals Chichi for Strongest Woman in the Universe.
• Pretty much the whole of episode 7 in Persona 4 The Animation. From Yukiko and Chie covered in oil and gunge, to Yousuke's very suspicious wording of his lack of will to go fight Shadow Kanji's goons...

Yosuke: No! I could lose something I'm not ready to yet!

• Fruits Basket features the scene where Black Haru is implied to show his pubic hair to student council president Makoto Takai in order to prove to him that his hair isn't dyed but a natural color. He also flirts with Tohru afterwards when she asks how he did it and he says "Why don't you come with me and see for yourself." but Yuki and Kyo knock him out.
• In Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Major Kusanagi provides a lot of Fan Service as far as her Stripperific outfit goes, as well as her implied lesbian relationships and general nudity. In the episode SCANDAL, there is a blatant shot of her naked ass when she's changing into a hospital gown.
  • In another episode, there is a brief shot of an android with a cannon that unfolds from its lower torso and resembles nothing so much as a giant metallic penis.
• The 2003 anime version of Fullmetal Alchemist has a not-so-subtle scene where Riza apparently has an Erotic Dream and is talking in her sleep. The dub just went with it and made it more obvious.
  • In Brotherhood, there's a scene where Ed is thinking of his and Riza's talk about Winry. He happens to recall it when Winry is fixing his automail and he's just wearing a shirt and his boxers, and it's heavily implied that he gets a Raging Stiffie over it and needs to go into "Think Unsexy Thoughts!!" mode before she notices...
• Maji De Watashi Ni Koi Shinasai has absolutely hilarious episode 6, which is about a festival celebrating the male sex with plenty of phallic symbols (and based on an actual Japanese festival). Most notably the "mushroom"-shaped lollipops, and what's probably as close to fellatio as one can get without it being actual porn, including a detailed description by Momoyo...
• For all of the Bowdlerization that took place in (Lion) Voltron, compared to the original GoLion, WEP did NOT censor Fala/Allura's Innocent Fanservice Girl tenure. ie, she once shows up in a bikini, and said bikini... malfunctions when she's swimming.
  • Pictured above: When Sven tries to tell Romelle to get away from him, he attempts to justify himself via, among other things, the quote above. Since both of them are completely alone, it can be easily given some not-very wholesome spins...
  • And right before that, there's this... uh, rather memorable shot ... that somehow was NOT taken out of Voltron...
  • The Downer Beginning of GoLion's episode 21 did all it could to state that Sincline (Lotor) sexually enslaved Amue (Romelle) without saying the "rape" word out loud. It's really not helped Amue being locked in a cell alongside several other cute-looking girls around her age (presumably from her planet), or by how both The Emperor and Sincline are canonically stated to take pretty ladies from the planets they conquer as concubines, or how the girls from Sincline's Paid Harem actually show up onscreen... Even when the scene was VERY understandably "softened" in Voltron to "just" imply Cold-Blooded Torture, it couldn't take everything away and some fans think that Lotor raped Romelle as well - especially since it kept the part where he tries to plant a Forceful Kiss on her, and another where he carries her away when unconscious, then she's heard screaming behind closed doors....
    • The DOTU German dub didn't even pretend to hide it. Paraphrased:

Lotor: "Good morning, Princess Romelle. I hope you slept fine. Be a good girl and give your prince a morning kiss" Romelle: "Bastard!" Lotor: "Now, now, princess. That wasn't very nice..." Romelle: "Very well...Do what you will with me but my heart will never belong to you!" Lotor: "But princess, you misunderstand...I was never after your heart. Your body will suffice..."

• • Speaking of Sincline/Lotor, in Episode 30 he was supposed to be engaged to a princess whose planet was an ally of the Galra, and he even kissed her on the mouth in front of Daibazaal. The princess, named Sahlia in the original and Corral in Voltron, was wearing a... quite Stripperiffic outfit. Even more, this was NOT taken outta Voltron either.
  • Again speaking of Sincline/Lotor, a talk he has with Honerva all but shouts states that polygamy is legal in Galra - or at least allowed among nobles. When he leaves to yet again try capturing Fala, Honerva asks him what he'll do about Sahlia, and he openly says "who says I cannot marry both Sahlia and Fala?"; Honerva chuckles at that and then says "Like Father, Like Son..." This one DID get taken out of Voltron, however.
• The Transformation Sequences in Corrector Yui are made of this trope, what with all the Fanservice Tropes included (especially the focus on the Correctors' feet, legs and asses) and the suspiciouslyorgasmic faces the girls pull towards the end of each sequence...
• The first Fatal Fury TV Special all but states that Terry's first girlfriend Lily was a mix of High Class Call Girl and Hooker with a Heart of Gold. She's very beautiful and curvy, her nickname is "Queen of South Town", first wears a white dress with a VERY generous cleavage, is a part of Geese Howard's entourage, is seen flirting quite a bit while apparently a bit tipsy, and at some point she throws a rose in the air with the promise of spending a whole night with the man who catches it...
• The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird: 
  • In episode 22, Momoko shows up wearing an outfit with an off-the-shoulders top. One would think that she's wearing a strapless bra underneath, but a blink-and-you'll-miss-it sequence shows that she's not.
  • Episode 33 shows Satsuda's bedroom, and considering one of the magazines that he keeps near his futon, it looks like he has a Porn Stash somewhere.
