She's not HALF half as innocent as you'd think...
Another Lady Innocent (フロントイノセント, Front Innocent) is the title of a hentai anime directed by Kinji Yoshimoto and Satoshi Urushihara in 2004, based on Urushihara's artbook Lady Innocent, and released in Japan under the title Front Innocent. It was produced by the defunct Studio ARMS, which was behind oldschool Hentai / Ecchi / Fanservice series / films / OAV's like La Blue Girl, Mezzo Forte, Queen's Blade, Night Shift Nurses, Ikki Tousen or Kite, plus other titles like Elfen Lied or Saiyuki Reload.
During The American Civil War, the powerful landowner Michael Carson had a beautiful young daughter with an innocent heart, Faye. As Faye returns from school and enjoys an intense sexual relationship with her childhood friend John and her servant girl Sophia, the end of her innocent days draws near. The mysterious Lord Mark, one of the few people who has power over Michael, has set his eyes on poor Faye, and will stop at nothing to get her. . .
There was supposed to be a second OAV, but it was never made due to budget problems. Albeit the storyboard for the original episode and what was supposed to be included in the second one can be found online via a little Google use. There's more info about the series here.
- Awesome Art: This is by Satoshi Urushihara, it's bound to look beautiful.
- Because You Were Nice to Me - Rescue Romance: Few after John and Jane were taken in by Michael, the teen John saved a preteen Faye as her horse went wild, but was severely injured in the process. Faye kept vigil by his bedside and fell for him due to gratitude, even kissing him.
- Big Fancy House: The Carver Residence and Lord Mark's home.
- Bi the Way: Both Faye and Sophia, but mostly Faye.
- Childhood Friends <- -> Childhood Friend Romance: Both of Faye's love interests, Sophia and John, have been there for her since she was a little girl.
- Coitus Uninterruptus: Early on, as Faye returns home from staying at her aunt's for a while, she walks in on her father Michael while he's screwing Eichel, one of the maids. She hugs him as both of them finish up and doesn't even seem to notice this going on. Then again, A) all of the maids save Sophia wear dresses that don't cover anything and B) Faye herself bangs Sophia AND John more than once. So probably she just didn't care.
- Cool Big Sis: Jane is this to Faye.
- Dirty Old Man: Michael and Mark.
- Downer Ending: Lord Mark forces Michael to send Faye to his mansion, or he will take possession of the Carver Residence. She and Sophia arrive there and walk into a rather creepy party with half-naked rich people, rather obviously an orgy that's about to begin. And at the very end Mark rapes Sophia, which does NOT bode well for whatever will happen to Faye...
- Every Scar Has a Story: John has a rather notorious scar on his torso. He got it as a young teen, saving Faye's life.
- Fan Service with a Smile: All the maids in the Carver mansion are lovely-looking young women who wear VERY skimpy uniforms that leave their breasts and crotches exposed and don't use any kind of underwear. Unsurprisingly, Mr. Carver fucks at least two of them (the dark-haired Eichel and the redhead Aine) on-screen.
- The closest to an exception is Sophia, who has a similar uniform but is allowed to put on a traditional apron over it. Likely because she's the youngest in the staff.
- Father, I Want to Marry My Brother: As John, Sophia and Faye grew up together, Faye said she'd like for herself AND Sophia to marry John.
- Hair Decorations: Faye's red hairpin, Sophia's maid headband.
- Happily Adopted: John and Jane were taken in by Michael when they were very young.
- Impoverished Patrician: Unbeknownst to Faye, Michael is in heavy finantial debt to Lord Mark. He uses this to force the Carvers send the poor girl to his mansion, so he can have her as his Trophy Wife
- The Ingenue: Lustful as Faye is, she's also rather naive.
- Missing Mom: Faye's mother is never seen, she apparently died when she was young.
- Nice to the Waiter: Faye is always sweet and kind to Sophia.
- Not Blood Siblings: Faye insists on calling her personal maid Sophia "Onee-sama" (Big Sister), and her lower-class childhood friend/adoptive older brother John "Onii-sama" (Big Brother). John even that mentions she doesn't have to call them as such, but Faye is adamant. Sounds like she's got a bit of a sibling complex . . .
- Rape Discretion Shot: Sophia's rape at the hands of Lord Mark at the very end isn't shown onscreen. All one sees is the rapist's face and bare shoulders, then the camera pans to the victim's bare breasts and then to her horrified face as she lets out a Big No... Up until then all the sex scenes (including some that easily count as having very Questionable Consent) were pretty explicit and shown in all details, so this is an obvious case of the following trope...
- Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Michael Carver is a Dirty Old Man who has the maids of his mansion wear ultra skimpy maid outfits that leave their bare boobs and crotches exposed, has sex with at least two of them onscreen and spies Sophia when she gets tail from Faye and John, but does seem to care for his family as a whole. John beds both Faye and Sophia, but genuinely cares for the two and almost died to save Faye in the past. However, Lord Mark is not only determined to have poor Faye as his Trophy Wife, but he's all but shouted to have participated in the offscreen gangrape of a girl at the very start... and at the end, he's shown right after having violated a young maid (who happens to be poor Sophia) just to highlight how cruel he is.
- Scarpia Ultimatum: If Michael doesn't send Faye to Lord Mark so he can get her, he will sell the Carvers's house and leave the family destitute.
- Sex Equals Love: Sort-of. The scenes featuring Faye have her bedding / being bedded by the two people she loves the most, John and Sophia, and are very loving and sweet. By contrast: the first sex scene with John and Sophia is consensual and kinda sweet but it's clear that Sophia's heart is more set on Faye than on John (and John himself says she doesn't have to do it with him, only conceding when she explains Faye asked her to take care of him), Michael fucking the maids Eichel and Aine is hot yet doesn't have a super loving subtext for obvious reasons, and the less said about Lord Mark... the better.
- Shrinking Violet: Sophia has very light lilac hair, and when not with Faye she's very quiet.
- A Threesome Is Hot: The longest sex scenes in the OAV feature Faye fucking John several times as Sophia watches, then Sophia fucking John while Faye rests, and at the end both girls "riding" John.
