In a land of endless night, Kit and his twin sister Howl struggle to survive as vermin: the lowest of social ranks. Life for a normal vermin is hard enough, but the twins aren’t normal, and never will be. They do things, know things, that a human being should not be able to. Clearly, the two are meant for more than what life has so far asked of them.
And sooner or later, fate will come calling.
