Original Series[]
- Crowning Music of Awesome: Stu Phillips' theme for the series, complete with prelude in the pilot episode.
- Fridge Horror: if the Ovions are eating any humans that come to Carrilon, does that mean that the food they're serving the Colonials is people?
- Not to mention the eventual fate of the minor colonies that the fleet encountered on their way to Earth. Consider what happened to them when the Cylons retraced the fleets path.
- Idiot Plot: You would think leaving at least a token defense fleet at your home system would be common military sense.
- Nightmare Fuel: there is a reason why no one has heard of the planet Carrilon. The screaming doesn't help.
- Sci Fi Ghetto
- WTH Costuming Department: Apparently we will all wear togas and discowear in space.
Galactica 1980[]
- Fanon Discontinuity: With the exception of the final episode "The Return of Starbuck", this series is NOT what fans wanted.
- Idiot Plot: "Spaceball". Enough said.
- Replacement Scrappy: Granted, Dr. Zee wasn't that popular to begin with, but fans generally tend to agree that Robbie Rist's emotionless Creepy Child incarnation of the character was much better (or at least more interesting) than James Patrick Stuart's version, who was a typically precocious boy genius.
- Sequelitis: Widely considered to be a textbook case, with the exception of the final episode, The Return of Starbuck.
- Short Runners: The show only lasted 10 episodes, due to low ratings and being negatively recieved by critics and fans alike.
- Tastes Like Diabetes: Almost every episode.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot The Cylons return after 30 years and attack the fleet's school ship. You'd think that this would set up an episode where the Galactica mobilizes the Earth to fight their old enemies, but instead we're treated to a Green Aesop and the antics of a bunch of kids. Hoo boy.
- WTH Costuming Department: The Colonials' idea of kids clothing? Medieval peasant-wear.
