Berserk Button/Bleach

• Bleach: Toshiro Hitsugaya is usually an apathetic, grumpy captain. But he has sworn that should anyone ever try to make Momo Hinamori bleed just one drop, he'd go batshit and kill them.
  • He also gets pissed when he is called anything else but "Captain Hitsugaya". Hinamori is the only one who can call him "Hitsugaya-kun" without getting him to growl, but not "Shiro-chan", because he'd call her "Bed-Wetter Momo".
  • Like a certain other shorty, he also gets pretty pissed if anyone mentions his shortness. Hilariously, both of them are voiced by the same seiyu.
• Ikkaku Madarame threatens to kill anyone who mentions his lack of hair.
• Ichigo Kurosaki gets very upset when he sees an older sibling threaten to harm a younger one. To him, older brothers are born first in order to protect the ones that come after them.
  • Do NOT mess with his little sisters either.
  • Ichigo's Missing Mom Masaki is also a trigger. If you ever insinuate that you did anything to his mother before her death, he will probably go into an Unstoppable Rage.
• Byakuya Kuchiki would do anything to protect his adoptive sister/sister in law. Threaten to hurt her, and get ready for a world of pain.
  • He also doesn't like it when you remove the camaraderie of an ally. He'll kill you for that.
• Ganju Shiba will get angry enough to drive a bucketload of customers out of his store if you mention his eyelashes.
• Izuru Kira is a very quiet, calm person who would really rather not hurt his opponents too badly. Bring up Gin, a man he was absolutely devoted to, however, and he'll be not so calm anymore.
  • Also, now only in the fillers, Hinamori has gained a similar Berserk Button. Mention Aizen's betrayal and she'll cut you down.
• Yumichika Ayasegawa hates ugly things in general, but absolutely cannot stand being called ugly. When he ended up fighting Charlotte Cuuhlhourne, who shared this Berserk Button, Hilarity Ensued. At least until the Mood Whiplash kicked in, where it's revealed that Yumichika has, in fact, been pressing his zanpakutou's own Berserk Button (being called Fuji Kujaku (Wisteria Peacock) instead of Ruri'iro Kujaku (Azure Peacock) because it loathes the colour of wisteria and adores the coloure of azure) to hide his kidou-type zanpakutou from his kidou-hating squad. As a result, by pressing its Berserk Button, he gets to fake a direct combat zanpakutou at the cost of shaving off most of his power due to the zanpakutou refusing to release properly.
• And what about Nel? You lay one finger on somebody she cares about and she'll kick your ass. Goes to show you, Beware the Nice Ones.
• You do not make Orihime cry in front of Tatsuki. She'll kick your ass too.
  • The inverse is also somewhat true. Don't hurt Tatsuki in front of Orihime.
• Unless you want to die a very painful death or suffer a fate worse than one, never ever ever compare Mayuri to Urahara.
  • Szayel boasting that he was a "perfect" being really pissed off Mayuri. As a Mad Scientist, Mayuri believes that there is always room for improvement and something new to learn. In Mayuri's own words:

"PERFECTION SHOULD NEVER EXIST (...). HOW DARE YOU CALL YOURSELF A MAN OF SCIENCE!"

• Most of Aizen's strategy involves finding out what will piss off his opponents the most and mind fucking them. Attempting it on Ichigo, however, backfires; Ichigo just shows up with Only the Author Can Save Them Now-level powerups and a lot of Tranquil Fury.
• As it turns out, Yamamoto does have one. If a captain actually loses their haori, rather than having it damage or destroyed, he will begin to lecture them at great length.
  • Even worse. His biggest berserk button has been revealed. Do not EVER harm, cripple, or kill the only liutenant he has ever had in his whole life as a captain. Ever since then, Old Man Genocide has been in a constant state of Tranquil Fury, and SHIT IS ABOUT TO HIT THE FAN.
• Don't hurt Rangiku Matsumoto. Otherwise, Gin Ichimaru will spend decades waiting for a chance to kill you.
• Shunsui Kyoraku is the Brilliant but Lazy Chivalrous Pervert who would rather spend his days sleeping, drinking, or flirting. But when his best friend Ukitake was stabbed through the chest by Wonderweiss, it was the one time he lost his cool, as he instantly responded by trying to attack the arrancar.
• Mess with Tia Halibel's underlings. Go on. I dare you.
• Ulquiorra Schiffer appears to have two. In the beginning of their second fight, Ulquiorra had been taking it easy on Ichigo. Once Ichigo claimed that he could read Ulquiorra's movements possibly because he was more like a hollow or that Ulquiorra had become more like a human, Ulquiorra broke a large piece of the floor in half. With that, Ulquiorra kicked his speed up and started curb stomping Ichigo..
  • When it becomes clear that even if he's being outclassed, Ichigo will not give up as long as he can still breathe, Ulquiorra YELLS at him, transforms into his Segunda Etapa form, and pretty much ends Ichigo.
• Do not EVER attract Aizen's interest. Loly and Menoly will beat you up to the point of disfiguring you.
  • Even more so? If Loly and Menoly get hurt, don't use your powers to heal them because, being Hollows born from death, - creating and bringing back life is, for these two, like watching an Eldritch Abomination at work.
• Among the Fullbringers? Several of them have Berserk Buttons. Here's a list:
  • Shukuro Tsukishima is an inhumanly cold, manipulative asshole. However, he flipped the shit out when Ginjou was about to die. So please, don't you even think of dying on him.
  • Yukio's Berserk Button is Parental Abandonment. Did you ever think of mocking him for missing his parents and feeling alone? Please don't do it. He'll warp reality around you and sic out hundreds of monsters towards you.
  • Never ever refer to Riruka as a "normal human". She will NOT be pleased.
  • Jackie Tristan really seems to have an inferiority complex as when she trains Ichigo, she treats him like a novice only for him to show his skill and reveal that he had more then enough experience when it comes to fighting. She practically goes ballistic on him (not that it does any good). When she faces off against Renji after receiving some of Ichigo's Fullbring power, she comments again that she is the better fighter. But Renji, after taking the full brunt of her power the first time, just treats her as little more then an annoyance and tells her to hit him with all she's got. She gets pissed once more as a result.
