Taki Minase

The protagonist of the first anime and the games. An Ordinary High School Student at the academy and a member of the art club. However, his encounter with the book of darkness soon changes his life forever.

  • He was understandably horrified after the "Dance Naked" spell forced Ito to humiliated herself to the entire class room.
  • Although he had previously bullied Nonogusa back in middle school by calling with derogatory name, even he couldn't stand Koyabashi and Mikimoto sexually harassing and blackmailing her.
• Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: In the game, much of the plot wouldn't have happened if he didn't find the eponymous "Bible Black" book. In particular, the bullying and Imari's assault only happened because he dabbled in black magic, and this event resulted in Imari being sent to the infirmary and Kitami discovering that she was a virgin and a perfect sacrifice for her ritual.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: Completely vanishes by New Testament with no explanation as what happened to him. It's implied that he was killed offscreen by Kitami.
• You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Subverted. After Kitami gets her hands on Imari, she just tosses Minase out and tells him not to get involved any further, thinking he won't be a threat. This backfires later when he comes back and helps brings about her downfall. Really should've just killed him.

Kurumi Imari

Childhood Friend & Martial Artist

Voiced by: Ayaka Izumi (Night of Walpurgis,Game), Kaori Nishijima (Anime)

Minase's childhood friend who has crush on him, as well as the president of the school's art club.

• Childhood Friend Romance
• Cute Little Fangs: Spots one in a CG of her having lunch.
• Distressed Damsel: Became this in the second half of story due to her being targeted by Kitami as a vessel for her ritual.
• Evil Costume Switch: In the Rika Shiraki Ending, Imari is brainwashed into Kitami's goons to torture Minase and now wears a bondage costume.
• Fair Cop: In the sequel
• Fan Service Pack: However much time has passed between the original anime and New Testament, it was enough that Imari has grown much more voluptuous.
• Informed Attractiveness: She is described by Minase as having small breasts, though the art style tells otherwise. Then again, this is Minase.
• One-Note Cook: The only thing she can make is curry. Fortunately, Minase likes curry. Averted in the game version, where she's actually a decent cook.
• The Power of Love: In the game, Minase actually has an option of putting the Paper Doll Charm spell, the one that drove Shiraki with mad love in the anime, on Imari, only to discover the next day that the spell has no effect on her at all, with him only realizing after reading an additional stipulation from the Bible Black book that the spell's false love is powerless again true love (with Minase realizing her feeling toward him at this time).
• Virgin Sacrifice: She happens to be one of the few schoolgirls (or perhaps the only one) who's a virgin at the start. Which is exactly what Kitami needs for her ritual.
• Walking Spoiler: Kitami possesses Imari's body.

Kaori Saeki

The Occult Fanatic

Voiced by: Asai Kiyomi (as Don Oohana) (Night of Walpurgis,Game), Haruna Kanbayashi (Anime)

A beautiful but introverted classmate of Minase who is into occult-related stuff. She soon plays an important role in the conflict and revival of the horror from 12 years before the story.

• Being Tortured Makes You Evil: In the anime and the Chaos Route of the game, she and her friends Jun and Maki are viciously raped before turning into Kitami's underlings. This is also implied in the Lawful Route with a mix of Drunk with Power, in which the encounter between Minase and Kitami also happens with her.
• The Dragon: To Kitami in both game and anime though not entirely of her own will.
• From Nobody to Nightmare: She went from a harmless occult magic practitioner to a dangerous adversary overnight in Lawful Route.
• Kick the Dog: In the Lawful Route, she ambushes Minase at his house with Inoue and his goons to gang rape Yukiko, something that is totally unnecessary due to him being practically powerless after losing the Bible Black book.
• More Than Mind Control: Part of the reasons she follows Kitami's order faithfully after being sexually subdued by her is due to her crave in the learning occult magic for real. Other part is because she's afraid to be in the same position as Takashiro/Imari if she doesn't follow all of her mistress' whim.
• Phony Psychic: In the game, Minase believes that her Fortune Reading is something that she just made on whim up due to the vagueness of it. However, it does provides a good Foreshadowing to what soon will befall on him.
• Rapunzel Hair: She wore her long waist length hair in a tall ponytail.
• Sex for Services: Gives Minase oral sex in order to find out about the Bible Black. She gets slapped for her trouble.

Rika Shiraki

Student Council President

An attractive, charming, and talented student council president of the academy who is the target of many male students' affection. Depending on Minase's choices, she may be dragged into the central of the conflict.

• Composite Character: The majority of Ito's role from the game is given to Shiraki, specifically, the scene where she stabs and has sex with Minase as he bleeds to death is a combination of Ito's two revenge scenes from the game.
• Demoted to Extra: In the Lawful Route toward the true ending in which she doesn't have any relevance to the plot, due to Minase not dragging her into the problem with his Love Spell.
• Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: The only blonde character to play this straight.
• Hot Teacher: She's a teacher in the sequel.
• Ojou Ringlets: Styled her two hair locks this way. In the sequel, this extends to the hair on the backside.
• Spoiled Sweet: Although she comes from a rich and influential family, that doesn't stop her from being kind and helpful to everyone.
• Student Council President: Serves as one at Minase's school.
• Woman Scorned: In the anime, after catching Minase sleeping with Takashiro, she stabs him and has sex with him for the last time before finishing the job. However, Takashiro intervenes just in time.

Hiroko Takashiro

Art Teacher & Magic Practitioner

The art teacher at the academy and the Sole Survivor of the event from 12 years ago.

• The Atoner: After meeting an actual demon in the past, Takashiro regretted her actions and tried to stop other people from messing with magic to search power.
• Big Good: She has a lot more knowledge than Minase about magic, though it doesn't make her immune to falling prey to it in certain bad endings.
• Break the Haughty: Her backstory in Origins. After discovering the Bible Black, she abused its power only to discover too late that Evil Is Not a Toy. She got raped by a demon she summoned, lost all her friends, and indirectly made Kitami the villain she is in the present day.
• Dangerously-Short Skirt: She has a lot of magical powers at her disposition and a very short skirt that is bound to show her panties from time to time.
• Expository Hairstyle Change: She's become a nun in New Testament and has shaved off her hair.
• Heroes Want Redheads: Averted, though Minase has the chance to have sex with her in both games.
• Hot Teacher: She is a fairly attractive teacher who garnered a reasonable number of crushes from the students.
• Mate or Die: Minase has sex with her to counteract Kitami's aphrodisiacs.
• No Sell: Downplayed. Her experience in the art of magic grants her some level of resistance against dark magic and aphrodisiacs, but prolonged exposure can still kicks her in.

Reika Kitami

Infirmary Nurse & Dark Witch

The mysterious doctor at the academy and the series main antagonist. She is the sacrifice of the ritual from 12 years ago who survived due to her contract with the devil. Now that its expiry time draws near, she began to devise a plan to trick the devil and escape the pact.

• The Bad Guy Wins: The original anime ends with her successfully taking over Imari's body, though New Testament showed it didn't eject Imari's soul.
• Big Bad: In the first game and its (non-canonical) sequel Infection.
• Big Bad Ensemble: With Jody Crowley in the anime sequel New Testament.
• Boobs of Steel: Like Takashiro, she is very well endowed, and one of the strongest spell casters in the Franchise.
• Blondes Are Evil: Very evil, very blonde, and contrasting with her, the main heroine Imari has brown hair.
• Depraved Bisexual: She spends most of her time having sex with other women, often without their consent, but she'll just as happily do the same with men.
• Even Evil Has Loved Ones: In New Testament, it is revealed that during the last remaining years of her contract with the devil, Kitami fell in love and had a relationship with Naoto Yamanishi, one of her students from the previous school. She is clearly heartbroken when she was forced to end her relationship with him.
• Futanari: She can turns her clitoris into a penis at will.
• For the Evulz: She really has no reason at all to torture Imari, given that she is going to send her to hell after completing the ritual anyway. Hence this trope.
• From Nobody to Nightmare: In Origins she was just an attractive transfer student who unfortunately got caught up in the demonic ritual of the original Rose Cross, now she is one the most dangerous and powerful witches in the series.
• Hello, Nurse!: She works as a doctor for her undercover job at the academy, and uses it to seduce a large amount of male and female students to her cause.
• Icy Blue Eyes: She has blue eyes and is cold and heartless, following the ordeal from 12 years ago.
• Mini-Dress of Power: Her usual gear is a black minidress complete with thigh-high stockings. The game version also includes a leather choker with buckle.
• Morally-Ambiguous Doctorate: She is stated to be a doctor in the game, but it's pretty much unclear if she became one through legal mean or not.
• Really Gets Around: She's had sex with dozens of men and women.
• Statuesque Stunner: She is rather tall and is shown to be roughly around Minase's height in the official chart, although it also include her heels in the measurement.
• Spared By Adaptation: She dies in the true ending of the game after failing to exchange soul with Imari and has to uphold the end of her deal with the devil. The anime version on the other hand, allows her to complete the ritual, thus continuing her influence and role up into New Testament.
• Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Origins shows she was just a nice, normal schoolgirl.
• Your Days Are Numbered: As price for making the contract, the devil shall claim her soul once 12 years have passed. Her goal centers around the way to escape this.

Yukiko Minase

Minase's cousin who lives along with him at his house and was tasked by his parents to look after him in their place.

Mika Itou

A fairly popular student who is one of Saeki's fortunetelling fans. In the game, she is Minase's first victim following his dabbling into black magic.

• Break the Cutie: In the game, the "Dance Naked" completely breaks Itou's spirit to the point that she attempts suicide, if not for the fact that she still wants to exact revenge on the person who did this to her.
• Demoted to Extra: The anime reduced Itou's fairly relevant role in showing Minase what he's sinking himself into to being One-Scene Wonder character due to her infamous sex scene with Kitami.
• Death by Sex: Delivers this to Minase if she figures out that he's the culprit behind the "Dance Naked" event in the Lawful Route.
• Knight of Cerebus: Her incident shows Minase and the player of what awaits them if they continue to tread along the part of black magic and the devil.
• Knife Nut: One of the possible death at Itou's hands is being stabbed to death by her in "On the Road" Ending.
• Kick the Son of a Bitch: What her possible revenge murder at Minase is treated as.
• No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: After the "Dance Naked" scenario, if Minase decides to avoid visiting Itou at the infirmary instead of going and masturbating upon her naked body, then Kitami will not be able to make a connection between the event and Minase and save him by seducing Itou in joining their side, resulting in her figuring out that Minase was the perpetrator behind the event and stabbing him to death.

Jun Amatsuki & Maki Kurimoto

Saeki's friends who share interest and practice magic alongside with her.

• Fanservice Pack: Inverted with Jun, whose massive breasts in the game are significantly smaller (though still sizable) in the anime.

Ayumi Murai

Minase's classmate whom he helps bewitch a male student into becoming her boyfriend.

Miyuki Nonogusa

A talented member of the swimteam who is the target of envy from its captain.

• Big Damn Heroes: Is one in Lawful Route by showing up in time before Minase gets abused by Kobayashi and Mikimoto if Minase chose to save her.
• The Dog Bites Back: If Minase blackmails her in the Lawful Route, then she will join force with Koyabashi and Mikimoto to take revenge on Minase.
• No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: In an ironic example, if Minase doesn't blackmail her in the Chaos Route he will end up being killed by Takashiro toward the end.

Swimteam members who envy Nonogusa for being chosen as representative for the school.

Rie Morita and Saki Shidou

Takashiro's friends during her school days. Rie was the one who found the titular Bible Black which kicked off the gruesome events twelve years before the story.

• Death By Origin Story: Both are dead by the end of Origins.
• Generation Xerox: To Jun and Maki.
• Those Two Guys: With Saki. It turns into Those Two Bad Guys as the witchcraft club begins to use their power for evil.
• Unwitting Instigator of Doom: None of the events in the story would've happened if Rie didn't find the titular book and bring it to her circle of friends.

Nami Kozono

The student council president from twelve years ago.

• Adaptation Dye Job: Has blond hair in the game, but dark purple in the anime.
• Alpha Bitch: Even before joining the coven, Nami isn't an exactly a pleasant girl to hang around with, with her sexually harassing Kitami despite she herself is romantically involved with Junko. It only goes downhill from there.
• Ax Crazy: Goes on a rampage during the final ritual and kills the other club members.
• Death By Origin Story:
• Does Not Like Men: Finds men outright repulsive, especially Hiratani, though she does at least has decency to turn him down without mocking him any further.
• Hopeless Suitor: Kitami is simply not interested into her.
• Failed a Spot Check: In the game version, the reason the ritual was not fully successful 12 years ago was because Kitami wasn't dead yet after being stabbed through the stomach by Kozono's sword. This is changed in the anime to her unknowingly failing to keep her goons from taking Kitami's virginity.
• Kick the Dog: Literally; she kills the stray dog Kitami had been caring for, and also what she did to Kitami as whole.
• Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Helps Kitami with her schoolwork, then tries to force herself on her.
• Laser-Guided Karma: She gets stabbed and killed by Kitami, the first victim of Nami's ritual to summon a powerful demon.
• Makeup Is Evil: After joining the witchcraft club, she starts wearing purple lipstick.
• Onee-Sama: She's the dominant one in her relationships and is called this by Junko.
• Out-of-Character is Serious Business: After Takashiro curses her to fall in love with Hiratani, the entire school reacts with shock. It's also the final confirmation that the Bible Black is the real deal.
• Psycho Lesbian: The only explicit lesbian in the series and evil as hell. Nami only shows affection towards women.
• Rape by Proxy: On Kitami for not accepting her advances. Also a huge Idiot Ball moment as she needed Kitami as a Virgin Sacrifice. Sure, she she ordered them to not take her virginity, but what the hell was she expecting?
• Rich Bitch: Commutes to school in a limo and wears a fur coat after joining the witchcraft club.
• Tranquil Fury: When ordering her goons to attack Hiratani.
• Tyrant Takes the Helm: After Takashiro is hospitalized, Nami usurps her position as the leader of the witchcraft club and pressures the other members in going through with the ritual.

Junko Mochida

• A Date with Rosie Palms: Thanks to a spell. During a public assembly in school.
• Alas, Poor Villain: It's hard to not feel sorry for her after the "Dance Naked Spell" incident.
• Beta Bitch: Nami's right-hand girl(friend) and equally contemptuous of the witchcraft club, although it a rare case where the Beta Bitch is actually more sympathetic.
• Driven to Suicide: After Takashiro and her friends make her masturbate in public, she decides to off herself by walking into oncoming traffic, but Kitami stops her.
• Meganekko
• Schoolgirl Lesbians: Her having lesbian sex with Nami is the first scene of Bible Black: Origins.

Hiratani

• Abhorrent Admirer: Toward Nami
• Asshole Victim: Nami sics her goons on him for raping her.
• Looks Like Cesare: He's downright skeletal compared to all the other dudes who at least look normal.
• Shrinking Violet: Though a not completely benign version, he is shown to be very shy and weak looking.

Aki Ichikawa

One of Yuge's subornates and Imari's co-worker at Tokken.

• Distressed Damsel: Like Imari, Ichikawa is the target of various malevolent force due to the belief that she is the Scarlet Woman of the Legend.
• Lady In Red: According to Jody, she is the prophesied Scarlet Woman who will give birth to the omnipotent god with the power to rule the world.

Toru Yuge

• Bald of Awesome: Is bald, and is one the most competent and skilled characters in the show.
• Chaste Hero: One of the few characters to not have any sex on the screen, and that's something given the genre.

Naoto Yamanishi

A police officer investigating supernatural cases during the event of the sequel.

• Bishonen: Like the anime version of Minase, Yamanishi is notable drawn much more attractive than the other male characters.
• Living Emotional Crutch: To Kitami.
• Morality Pet: If there is one person who still cause Kitami to have any resemblance of goodness in her, it's him.
• Save the Villain: Tries to save Kitami when her soul is being dragged away, but fails.

Yuki Toudou

• Back From the Dead: Was killed by Jody, who then revives her as her servant.
• Brainwashed and Crazy: Spends most of the series mind controlled by Jody.

Jody Crowley

A descendant of the famous oculist Aleister Crowley intent on fulfilling his will.

• Big Bad Ensemble: With Kitami in New Testament. They both have their own agendas with the Aki, but pulls an Eviler Than Thou on Kitami and becomes the main threat at the end.
• Eviler Than Thou: Proves this to Kitami, besting her by brainwashing a number of Kitami's followers into serving her before they ever fought.
• Hermaphrodite: Like Kitami.
• Psycho Lesbian: Implied. She never expressed any real romantic interest but any time she does have sex it's with other women, either by forcing them or in Yuki's case, mind controlling them into loving her.
