Proof that the remaining 10% is worth dying for here:

These are recommendations made by Tropers for Fan Fics about the book\movie The Black Company, all of which have been signed. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be Zapped (wiki). Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into Shipping, of all kinds, since it's Serious Business.

General Fics[]

Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

The Black Company in Middle Earth by McJunker

  • Recommended by Mc Junker
  • Synopsis: The Black Company serves Sauron during the War of the Ring.
  • Comments: Tries to reconcile Tolkien's narrative with Glen Cook's worldview.
    • It's well written, and the narrator is a fairly likeable character. It's set well after the Black Company books (500 years, by the numbers given and a bit of guesswork), so all of the characters are completely new, but the Company hasn't changed. They're still a bunch of hardasses who play tonk and complain in their spare time. And the Black Company and it's members are still more important to them then anything else, including their employer.--PT 246
