• Prolonged Prologue: Just like Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther includes a prologue scene ahead of the studio logos.
• Sliding Scale of Shiny Versus Gritty: According to Michael B. Jordan, unlike the other MCU films, Black Panther is supposed to be "very honest and gritty."
• Chadwick Boseman in an interview stated that his reasoning to use an African accent.

"Colonialism in Africa would have it that, in order to be a ruler, his education comes from Europe. I wanted to be completely sure that we didn't covey that idea because that would be counter to everything that Wakanda is about. It's supposed to be the most technologically advanced nation on the planet. If it's supposed to not have been conquered - Which means that advancement has happened without colonialism tainting it, poisoning the well of it, without stopping it or disrupting it - Then there's no way he would speak with a European accent."

• What Could Have Been: Eli Bradley was considered for appearing in the film, but Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole nix the idea in favor of the Wakandan characters and fleshing the latter out.
• Both Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke, who both play as Nakia and M'Baku, were just Yale School of Drama students, who saw the first Avengers movie when it was released. They were so awestruck that they wish that they'll star in a similar film in the future.
• The costuming department deliberately made that three out of every five Wakandans go barefoot.
• The filmmakers got inspired by different African tribes and created unique blend of them to form the fictional Wakandan tribes:
  • The Golden Tribe uses black motifs and a continental sun symbol that's found throughout Africa. Which also has panther themes and designs.
  • The Border Tribe were inspired by the Lesotho architecture and language, and their motifs are blue and wood. Even wearing Basotho blankets (The reasons are that there's a Basotho tribe that's lviing in Lesotho).
  • The River Tribe were inspired by a combo of the Surma and Mursi Ethiopian tribes.
  • The Mining Tribe was inspired by both the Himba and Maasai tribes of Africa's southern regions.
  • The Merchant Tribe were inspired by the Tuareg tribe, who lives in the Sahara.
  • Last but not least, the Jabari Tribe were inspired by the tribes of Africa's western regions, mainly the Bari, Igbo, and Dogon tribes.
• Ryan Coogler felt that putting the Jabari Tribe in the rain forest is too obvious, so he placed them in an unexpected place...A snow-covered mountain.
• Trevor Noah voiced the Royal Talon Remote Pilot System.
• The golden Black Panther habit that Killmonger wears resembles a leopard. A reference to his pet leopard, Preyy.
  • Also, Michael B. Jordan was allowed to keep the costume.
• According to Hannah Beachler, Wakanda's circular designs are to represent completeness and eternity.
