Proof that the remaining 10% is worth dying for here:
These are recommendations made by Tropers for the Blazblue series Fan Fics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here.
Do warn when a fanfic may head into homosexual or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business. You can also add to the current recommendations if you want. Refrain from posting Conversation in the Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

General Fics[]
Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.
Ask Rachel Alucard by Xm 0123
- Recommended by Heraklinios
- Synopsis: Rachel Alucard gets hold of a Windows 7 laptop and decides to open a blog in which she answers question from several reviewers about the Blazblue universe. Hilarity Ensues.
- Comments: Quite interesting, but the amazing fact that Rachel says always on character, without derailing her personality is something unique and rare in the realm of fanfiction. I congratulate this guy for making a really good fic that keeps everything on character while adding the humor that I like so much.
- It should be noted that as of recently Xm 0123 is also managing a spin-off; Help us, Professor Kokonoe.
Aftermath by Maes Lawliet
- Recommended by Chris X
- Synopsis: Even if it's to save someone she loved very much, Litchi Faye-Ling just doesn't feel right in joining NOL. Then Hazama tried to draw her selfish side in hopes to make her into a selfish, despicable bitch, and the only one that can help her is herself... would she fall for Hazama's draws or would she keep her kindness?
- Comments: If you are distraught by Litchi's Face Heel Turn, this is the fic for you, to assure that she'll not sink into Complete Monster level. I know that most people always believed Litchi to be good despite being antagonist as of current, but if you still have doubts... READ. THIS. FIC.
"At Fate's Hands by Velvien
- Recommended by Irikarul
- Pairings: Ragna/Tsubaki, as well as a couple of others which are under wraps at the moment.
- Synopsis: The sequel to "On Strange Wings". Ragna and Tsubaki's relationship remains the main focus, but every character in Blazblue has an important role in the story, and some of them form romantic bonds of their own. Velvien presents his vision of Blazblue's storyline conclusion as many characters band together to defeat the NOL, Terumi and Relius in particular. It also features characters whom were not present in "On Strange Wings" (Carl, for example) gaining prominent roles, while four OC's have been added for both sides of the conflict: Gesshoku Yayoi (Tsubaki's father), Belioz Mutsuki (Member of the Duodecim), Tenshin (Lord Tenjo's son), and the mysterious Voivod. The author has noted that the fanfic will be "epic in length".
- Status: Ongoing
- Comments: So far, it's got much of the same charm and sharp writing as "On Strange Wings" has. However, it's much larger in scale, and a bit slower-paced so as to accomodate the larger cast size and expanded POV. While many may be put off by the notion of OCs, Velvien has noted that he does not plan for any of the four that he created to be too powerful or overshadowing the canon characters in plot importance. They're mainly present to serve the purposes of the story, and are more well-designed than most OCs. Overall, a solid story so far.
- Now has a forum called The Cauldron where Velvian plans to have a play by post RP inside the universe of At Fates Hands. No OC's to create yet, and the rest of the cast needs to be filled out, but it will soon be ready! http://w11.zetaboards.com/The_Cauldron/index/
Crossover Fics[]
Crossover series involving Blaz Blue
SinnerBlue:Dark's Misfortune by Kermee007 (This fic has numerous Original Characters. It has some foul language here and there too.)
- Recommended by Aqua Robot
- Synopsis: A crossover of Blaz Blue and Soul Nomad and The World Eaters. An Original Character named Dark has to deal with a bunch of supernatural elements in his life like ghosts and demons. After a girl from space randomly crashes into his house, she decides to help him out in any way she can to make up for it. She eventually drags Ragna and Revya to join the ride to help him with his life.
- Comments: The two Copyrighted Characters aren’t introduced until about Chapter 7 or so, but the writing is well enough for some to look past that. We aren’t told from what point in time Ragna or Revya are taken from their continuity, but there doesn’t seem to be any major out-of-character moments from the two. The writing is captivating, but it’s an in progress fic. However, it seems to have potential and I definitely recommend it to be read during one’s spare time.
Shadows of the Azure by Chris X
- Recommend by The MB
- Crosses Over With: Persona 4
- Pairings: None so far, except hints of possible canon pairings.
- Synopsis: After being defeated by an unknown evil, Yu Narukami and the Investigation Team are sent to a strange new world, while he and Teddie met up Ragna and Taokaka. While they set off to find their friends, the residents of this new world must contend with their own evils as Shadows started to appear in this particular world...
- The main premise is for BlazBlue cast to receive their own Shadow selves and how to deal with them, with the help of the Persona 4 cast. Thus far, Shadow Ragna has been spotted.
- Status: Ongoing
- Comments: While the writer's, um, writing could use improvements, he has set up the plot devices nicely, and has taken advantage of the worlds of [BlazBlue] and Persona 4 to craft the tale. All characters seem IC so far, and each Investigation Team member is with a different character, so they end up dealing with the Blaz Blue characters' issues as well.
- It even has a trope page!
Shipping Fics[]
Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.
Tales Of Vesperia: Calamity Trigger by Cypher0120
- Recommended by Irikarul, seconded by Guy Smiley
- Pairings: Jin/Sodia, Yuri/Estelle, Carl/Rita, Raven/Judith, Hakumen/Nirvana, Flynn/Noel
- Synopsis: A crossover of Blaz Blue and Tales of Vesperia. The fic takes place after the ending of Vesperia, and around the ending of Blazblue: Calamity Trigger. Several Blazblue characters, namely Jin Kisaragi, Carl Clover, Hakumen, Arakune, and recently Noel Vermillion end up in the Vesperia world due to time shifts. As the author said, the time shifts are partially an excuse to cross over the two fandoms. Characters from both sides team up to fight a potentially world-destroying threat, and the Smooth Criminal behind it. Plenty of ship teasing is included, as well.
- Comments: All of the characters are very in-character. There's a good amount of character development in the fic, particularly on the Blazblue end of the spectrum. The action is also pretty well-detailed. Considering this is a fic crossing over an Action RPG and a 2D Fighting Game, this is a very good thing. The first 33 chapters were all part of "Part 1", with "Part 2" starting after the interlude at Chapter 34. This is going to be a very long series. However, if your favorite character in Blazblue happens to be the idealistic Highly-Visible Ninja Bang Shishigami, I must warn you: the author is not a fan of him. Don't worry though. Every Blazblue character has had at least one appearance so far, as well as every major character from Vesperia.
- ...and if your favorite character is series protagonist Ragna, his personality is basically gone (but with good reason) - he only appears as part of the Black Beast and gets the entirety of one line as himself per se.
- The author has also written another Blazblue fanfic involving, and I quote, "a dead Jin in Yukianesa wielded Soul Reaver style by Sodia". He has written stories for Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur, Fate/stay night, and many other series.
"On Strange Wings by Velvien
- Recommended by: John Dirge
- Pairing: Ragna/Tsubaki
- Synopsis: Lifted straight from FF. Net; "After a chance meeting at a restaurant, Tsubaki finds herself following the NOL's greatest enemy to meet a childhood hero." Goes on to include many characters of the Blaz Blue roster with mention, or cameos, of numerous other characters.
- Status: Completed.
- Comments: This troper is an enormous fan of Blaz Blue, he isn't going to lie. So, like many fans, he went out to try and find a decent fic, or a great fic. This troper was disappointed to discover that the number of Blaz Blue fanfictions is... not very high. So, when this troper, on a mission to find a fic, ran across this one out of the mire, he was interested, if only because the ship of the fanfiction was... Interesting. Then he read the fic. The first thing that caught him was that the characters' dialogue was perfectly in sync with the characters as they appeared in the actual games (English Dub, at least). He was also pleasantly surprised to find out that they were in-canon, as well, with the characters avoiding being derailed. While the premise may seem odd, please remember that this is Blaz Blue we're talking about here, so, frankly? It works.
