Because Someone Has to Do It, and because author Doc Haus was highly caffeinated after playing a few rounds of BlazBlue online, this crossover was conceived. Blazin' Gears is a tale that has slowly been dropping main characters from the Guilty Gear series into the Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi (the main setting for the game BlazBlue) about a day or so before Ragna the Bloodedge strolls in through the front door of the library and the wheel of fate spins anew. So far, the GG characters have been getting their asses handed to them as their bodies adjust to the new "rules" of this world, but who knows what will happen afterwards? The author is still trying to figure that part out for himself.
Will there be awesome action? Yes.
Will there be humorous dialogue? Yes.
Will there be romance? Unrequited so far, but yes to a small degree.
Will someone get a Bridget dropped on them? It's being considered.
Will there be any original characters? A few, but they won't overshadow the main cast.
- An Offer You Can't Refuse: Jam gets this from some pirates at one point.
- Broken Pedestal — Mr. Black
- Calling Your Attacks — Bang Shishigami does it often enough that Ky wonders if he is actually playing this straight or if it's just Obfuscating Stupidity.
- Can't Hold Her Liquor — Noel, in one scene.
- Curb Stomp Battle — Sol vs. Rachel.
- The Chessmaster — Hazama/Terumi
- Fanfic (duh)
- Genius Bruiser — Tager
- Gratuitous French — Ky Kiske, coming back to consciousness after being beaten by Bang.
- Groin Attack - May gives a NOL guard one of these.
- Guns Are Worthless — Mr. Black tells Noel that guns have become a lot less useful with Ars Magus barriers around.
- He Knows Too Much — Sector Seven says this of Mr. Black.
- Healing Factor — Ragna has one due to being part-vampire, Sol has one because he's actually a Gear...or something.
- If I Wanted You Dead... — Rachel says this word-for-word to Sol. Hazama says this when torturing May.
- Incendiary Exponent — Tager gets this after Mr. Black's house explodes.
- Kick the Son of a Bitch — Yes, Hazama choking a bitch isn't nice, but May, girl, you just made a poor chap unable to be a daddy ever. Are we supposed to feel sad for you?
- Judging on what Hazama is... well, YES!
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall — Two NOL watchmen named Rosen and Gilden. (What is this reference you speak of?)
- Mercy Lead — Sol was given one by some Interpol agents before he landed in Kagutsuchi.
- Only a Flesh Wound — Sol gets stabbed through the chest in one fight scene, yet he's still able to drive the enemy away.
- Lampshaded in that it was Sol's "Gear trait" that saved him where others might have died.
- Phlebotinum — Seithr.
- Somebody Else's Problem — Upon hearing of an explosion at the Port of Kagutsuchi, Rosen and Gilden decide to let someone else deal with the problem instead of risking their lives trying to fight whoever caused it.
- Who's on First? — It's a bit hard to speak meaningfully when your name's Dizzy and you're trying to refer to That Man.
