  • Fridge Brilliance: Remember when everyone was leaving the city in S7 and people were becoming more violent (the cops who tried to kill Faith for instance)? It was because of the Hellmouth activity, so as time went on, it got worse, but the rest of the city was gone, so nobody noticed. This explains the more hostile actions from the characters (Buffy threatening to let Spike kill Robin, Robin trying to kill Spike even though he was a good fighter and would be needed to help fight, them kicking Buffy out of the house, Buffy stealing that guy who stayed's house, and more) as the Hellmouth was making them all more hostile!
  • X Meets Y: Joss Whedon himself refers to Buffy the Vampire Slayer as My So-Called Life meets The X Files.
