- During Atsushi's Secret Test of Character for the Armed Detective Agency's entrance exam, Tanizaki is playing the role of a Mad Bomber. Atsushi attempts to talk him down by saying there is plenty to live for. When Tanizaki demands examples, the things Atsushi lists are hilariously simple, like having tea-on-rice or waking up in a bed instead of on concrete.
- When Atsushi collapses after unsuccessfully preventing Koyo from taking Kyoka back to the Port Mafia, Kunikida, Tanizaki and Kenji turn up and Kunikida tells him to "grow some wereballs."
- Dazai trolling Kunikida by stealing his notebook and reading it out loud to Sasaki on Kunikida's list of what would make a perfect woman for him. Sasaki point-blank tells Kunikida to lower his standards.
