- Ouka and Shusui's backstory is half this, half Tear Jerker They were raised by a lady named Mayumi Hayasaka; she kept them locked away in her home, and had them play "wedding games" among other things. When Mayumi passed away there, the twins (who were really young and sheltered, so they didn't really understand the concept of death) played with her corpse until it was rotten. Then they were found and rescued by others... and it turns out Mayumi was the lover of their dad and kidnapped them away from their parents. Who then rejected the kids, no longer considering them their children. They were Street Urchins until Shusui had an encounter with Dr. Butterfly and Moonface, and they were taken in by the L. X. E.
