- Creator Backlash: In a deleted scene from the documentary Electric Boogaloo, screenwriter Stephen Tolkin revealed that he was not fond of the movie, jokingly claiming that he went comatose after attending a screening of the film and had to be revived with a bottle of sake poured to his mouth.
- Hey, It's That Guy!:
- Ronnie Cox plays the President in this film. While it's not the only time he plays a good guy, and not even the only time he's played the President, younger viewers might only remember him as the villainous senator (and later villainous Vice President) from Stargate SG-1, or even as the Corrupt Corporate Executive from RoboCop.
