Cara the Bloodlord

A secret feud between humans and vampires is now a thing of the past and peace has been achieved under the beautiful vampire queen, Cara the Bloodlord.

However, there are those that protest against this peace between humans and vampire. The biggest objector is Gram, Cara's uncle, who despises humans and treats them like livestock. Gram's illegal business of human trafficking was brought to light by Cara and he was seemingly killed by her. However, Gram narrowly escaped with his life. Gram swore revenge against Cara even when allowing himself to be a host to demonic "bugs" in order to achieve the powers he needs for his revenge. He plots to infiltrate Japan, the land where the treaty for peace between humans and vampires is set to be sealed forevermore.

Using the forbidden manipulation of "bugs", Gram targets Cara and her allies. Using these "bugs" to secretly infect their bodies, the heroines are subjected to a slow and ghastly brainwashing and 'training' without them even being aware of it. And as these strong heroines guarding the vampire queen fall one by one, will Cara's noble body itself becomes vulnerable to the wicked hands of revenge...!?

Cara the Bloodlord is a Hentai Visual Novel created by Lilith-Soft. Its story follow Gram Derrick, the Evil Uncle to the vampire queen Cara Cromwell. Gram plans to brainwash his niece and her allies just weeks before she is about to negotiate the terms of a treaty between humans and vampires, which threatens to puts an end to his human trafficking ring. Gram has to covertly brainwash Cara's allies to get to his niece using his magical parasitic bugs, all the while keeping up the disguises that he is a mild mannered teacher of a High School for vampire slayers.

The game was praised for its unique characters and artwork, but was criticized for being a standard Lilith-Soft game that borrowed heavily story-line elements from their previous works, particularly the Kangoku Senkan franchise. Still the game manages to be one of their more popular works and its characters were even included in the Crossover game, Taimanin Asagi -Battle Arena. Despite the game's popularity, as of now there is no plans to make an anime adaptation of the game.

Cara the Bloodlord has examples of:[]

  • 100% Completion: To achieve this, the player would have to get both the Alternate Ending (where Marika's is Gram's 2nd target) and the Golden Ending (where Azuma is Gram's 2nd target instead).
  • Absolute Cleavage: All the female cast wear outfit that expose their cleavage.
  • Action Girl: Cara and her allies are all capable fighters. Gram admits that neither he nor any of his minions would be able to defeat them in a fair fight.
  • The Ageless: Vampires in general. They can age normally like humans until they reach adulthood. So long as they don't die from injury, they can potentially live forever.
  • The Assimilator: Due to being a host to several magical parasites, Gram has the abilities to transfer all of his bugs and his consciousness to another person and assimilate them. He demonstrates this ability when he assimilates Yoshiki Yamakawa. This allow him to assume Yoshiki's identity and since its still technically Yoshiki's body, he can freely cross over the anti-vampire barrier that surrounds Hayato Academy. Additionally, he can infect somebody with just one of his bug to control their bodies for several hours when its active. After a week of sexual stimulation, the bug will fuse to their hosts nerves system, turning the host into a subservient slave.
  • Babies Ever After: A dark example, as Cara and her allies end up pregnant with Gram's children in the Golden Ending and in the Alternate Ending.
  • Badass Teacher: Kitae is the director/principal at Hayato Academy and Azuma is a physical education teacher and combat instructor. During their stay at Hayato Academy, Marika acts as a second temporary physical education teacher and Cara acts as a history teacher. All four women are capable Action Girls.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: In the Golden Ending and in the Alternate Ending, since the playable character is the bad guy.
  • Barrier Warrior: Kitae Uehara, who is stated to be the strongest barrier-master in the world. She can create barriers that repel vampires unless they have her "approval".
  • Batter Up: Azuma wields an enchanted baseball bat called "Demon Slayer".
  • Big Bad: Gram Derrick despite being the protagonist of the game.
  • Big Good: The titular Cara is a Hero Antagonist version to her uncle Gram.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Marika is the Blonde, Kitae is the Brunette and Azuma is the Redhead. Cara can be considered a second blonde being a White-Haired Pretty Girl.
  • Boarding School: Hayato Academy, the game's main setting, has room and board for all students and staff, which is part of the reason why Cara chose to stay at the school until it was time to sign the treaty. It later becomes a Boarding School of Horrors after Gram takes over.
  • Bodyguard Babes: Marika Krishna to Cara. This is also a case of Bodyguarding a Badass.
  • Chainsaw Good: Marika wields an enchanted chainsaw created from her own body called "Shiva".
  • Christmas Cake: The centuries old Cara and Marika are still single and are still virgins at the start of the game. Kitae could not help teasing Cara about her not having chosen a mate yet despite being alive for over 100 year. Cara also points out that Kitae is still single despite her age.
  • Climax Boss: Cara serves as this being Gram's main target, however the role of Final Boss will either go to Azuma or Marika depending on what route the player takes.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Cara wears mostly dark clothing and looks like she belongs in Taimanin Asagi's rogue gallery, but she is a very friendly, and surprisingly laid-back, individual that can get along with anyone that isn't an evil rapist.
  • Dark-Skinned Blond: Marika Krishna.
  • The Dragon: With Kitae Reforged Into a Minion very early in the game, she ends up functioning as this to Gram.
  • Evil Uncle: The Villain Protagonist Gram to his niece Cara.
  • The Faceless: All of the male characters in the game, including Gram, despite having a character design drawn out, as shown on his character profile.
  • Final Boss: Marika serves as Gram's final opponent during the Golden Ending route, while Azuma is the final boss in the alternate ending route.
  • Five-Man Band: Cara and her allies:
  • Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Cara and Marika, with the former attempting to make peace between her kind and humanity and the latter being her loyal and devoted knight. Cara herself is also a Vegetarian Vampire whose powers don't diminish without human blood thanks to her royal bloodline.
  • Functional Addict: Azuma Kamimura is a Hard-Drinking Party Girl that often spends her mornings hungover, although that does not stop her from being a capable Badass Teacher and Vampire Hunter.
  • Golden Ending: The game's True Ending. Ultimately, Gram succeeds in brainwashing Cara and all of her allies. Gram allows the negotiations of the treaty to continue without interference. A task force was created to crack down on the human trafficking ring, not that it matters since Gram has enslaved the women controlling the task force, effectively Running Both Sides. Now free to run his illegal business without interference, the story ends with Gram presenting the heavily pregnant Cara, Marika, Azuma, and Kitae to his criminal associates as his prized Sex Slaves.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Azuma likes to spend her free time drinking boozes and is often hungover in the mornings. This actually ends up working against her when Gram infects her with one of his bugs, as her drowsiness from Gram's "training" and her lose of memory is explained away as one of her hangovers.
  • Healing Factor: So long as their head and heart are intact, vampires here are able to recover from any injury, including lost limbs. Gram after becoming a host to magical parasitic bugs takes it a step further and can nearly recover From a Single Cell.
  • The Hedonist: Azuma state that she lives for tobacco, alcohol, and good food, which Marika responds by saying that her bad habits are going to lead to an early death, much to Azuma's annoyance.
  • Hero Antagonist: Cara and her allies to Gram.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Inverted. Gram is the game's Villain Protagonist and the only one that fights with a sword.
  • High School: Funny enough the story's main setting is in a high school, Hayato Academy. At least its a school for Vampire Hunters.
  • Hot Teacher: The female cast (see Badass Teacher).
  • Immortality Begins At Twenty: In a case of Our Vampires Are Different, vampires can be born naturally and are able to age until they reach they reach adulthood.
  • Kill and Replace: Gram assimilated one of Hayato Academy's teachers, Yoshiki Yamakawa, to both assume his identity as he covertly brainwashes Cara and her allies, and to bypass Kitae's anti-vampire barrier.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Conveniently, anyone that is infected with one of Gram's bug will forget everything that happens when the bug is not actively controlling them, and the host will vaguely remember the experience as a bad dream. But when the bug is active again, the host's repressed memories will return to them. Gram explains that this is a defense mechanism of his parasitic bugs until they can permanently fuse to their host's nerves system to act as a second brain.
  • Lesbian Vampire: Marika Krishna, despite being The Stoic, clearly wants to be with Cara. Cara herself is bisexual. It eventually revealed that they are secretly a Battle Couple.
  • Love Potion: Amrita which is an addictive aphrodisiac created using vampire blood. Not only is it potent, but it slows down aging. However, it causes the body to deteriorate if it is not regularly administered. Gram sells his aphrodisiac to his human associates. Gram also created another aphrodisiac that can effect vampires that he calls "Parasite", since they are produced by his bugs.
  • Multiple Endings: This game has one True Ending, one Alternate Ending, and several Game Over endings.
  • A Nazi by Any Other Name: Gram and his evil vampire subordinates who see humans as inferior. They believe that they as "superior" and should be free to force humans to be their servants, livestock, and/or Sex Slaves. Since vampires in this story lack Horror Hunger, the only reason they want to feed on humans is mainly due to their Pride and desire to keep their supernatural abilities strong. Gram himself in particular is of a royal bloodline whose abilities don't diminish without blood; he's just a bigoted monster.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Vampires here are more like super-powered people, than undead monsters. They do not have the same traditional weaknesses that vampires in other media have, such as sunlight and garlic, but are weak against enchanted weaponry, like Marika's chainsaw and Azuma's bat. They are fertile and can mate with a human or another vampire, which will result in a vampire child, which is how Cara, Gram, and Marika were born. Although they can still turn humans into vampires via biting. Their craving for human blood isn't as strong, as several vampires like Cara can go through their whole life without drinking it. However, not drinking human blood would diminish their supernatural powers with Cara being one of the few exceptions to this rule. Their usual power set includes enhanced strength, Healing Factor, Spontaneous Weapon Creation, Super Smoke, and they will stop aging once they reach adulthood.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Cara, Marika, and Gram are all stated to be over 100 years old.
  • Reforged Into a Minion: Gram's main goal is to infect Cara and her allies with one of his magical bugs, which can take control of their bodies for several hours and will permanently fuse to their host's nerves system to act as a second brain if they remain in their host's body for a week. Once the bug fuses with their host's nerves system, the host will then become subservient to Gram and develop an intense lust for him. Of course since this is a Hentai, sexually stimulation is needed during the process.
  • Schmuck Bait: Most of the game's choices can be considered this. The usual scenario is that one of the Hero Antagonists is acting weird and might be on to the Villain Protagonist, then the player is given the choice to either investigate or do nothing. Guess which choice will give you the Game Over?
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: In this game, vampires are able to create weapons from their bodies. Cara can create spears, Gram can create a sword, and Marika can create a chainsaw.
  • Super Smoke: Vampires are able to turn their bodies into mist, with Marika being the most proficient user of this ability, to the point where she is basically preforming Flash Step.
  • The Unmasqued World: Most people are aware that vampires exist. Thanks to Cara's leadership, many vampires manage to successful integrate themselves into human society and its even mentioned that several of them have became celebrities.
  • Vampire Hunter: Azuma Kamimura and Kitae Uehara. Although it should be pointed out that they only go after evil vampires and are on friendly terms with Cara and Marika.
  • Vampire Monarch: Cara Cromwell, the Vampire Queen of Vlad.
  • Vampires Are Sex Gods: Cara and Marika, as they are vampires in a Hentai. Funny enough, both of them are still virgins at the start of the game. Also, based on his character profile, Gram is a fairly attractive man.
  • Vegetarian Vampire: Since vampires in this game lack Horror Hunger, a large number of vampires like Cara and Marika can be this relatively easily. The only drawback for a vampire not drinking human blood is that it would diminish their supernatural powers, with Cara being the exception.
  • Villainous Incest: Gram is an Evil Uncle that sees his niece Cara as a Lust Object and one of his main goals to turn her into his Sex Slave.
  • Villain Protagonist: Gram Derrick, Cara's Evil Uncle, and the game playable character.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Azuma and Marika quickly develop into this relationship upon meeting each over. The two would often engage in Snark to Snark Combat until their "conversations" turns into a physical fight. Cara explains that the two actually really like each other, but are too proud to admit it. This does appear to be true later on when Azuma was more comfortable talking over her suspicions with Marika than with Cara (and her Spider Sense has her distrusting the already brainwashed Kitae) after being inflected by one of Gram's bug.
  • White-Haired Pretty Girl: Cara.
  • World Of Buxom: The game's female cast are all busty women.
  • The Worm That Walks: Gram allowed himself to be host of magical parasitic bugs that live in his body. Gram has a symbiotic relationship with these maggot-like bug as they give him a near immortal Healing Factor that surpass regular vampires and allow his to control other people who are inflected with one of his bugs. In the advent that most of his body in destroyed, so long as most of his bugs are still alive, he can assimilate another person and posses their body as a replacement.
