Caroline Stevermer is a fantasy author whose works are often Historical Fantasy. She is perhaps best known as the co-author, with Patricia C. Wrede, of the Sorcery and Cecelia trilogy.

Of her solo works, probably the best known is the "Scholarly Magics" series: A College of Magics, a Ruritanian fantasy set in the early 20th century, with a prequel When the King Comes Home and sequel A Scholar of Magics.

She has also written River Rats, a Post Apocalyptic adventure on the Mississippi River; the Alchemist duology, set in the Italy of the Borgias; and Magic Below Stairs, a children's fantasy set in the same world as Sorcery and Cecelia.
