Period Piece

List of any story that uses an era that has passed as a backdrop for the plot, whether that'd be the far or recent past. Compare with the Historical Fiction, where actual historical figures and historical events significantly influences the plot. See also its relative, the Costume Drama, which places emphasis on capturing a particular era's ambiance with a tendency towards spectacle.
