Tropedia

  • Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

  • Executive Meddling: Red Alert 3's DRM ,which was one of the reasons why the game was (along with forgetting in some copies to add the 20th cd-key digit) a failure in terms of profit, apparently it was this economic failure along with the resources lost in Tiberium what convinced EA executives to make Tiberian Twilight.
  • Fake Nationality:
    • The Soviet Union is led by an Englishman and their top scientist is a Swede. Krukov's actor is an American of Russian descent. Dasha is probably Russian (her last name suggests she could be Ukrainian). Actress Ivana Milicevic (pronounced "Mil-ee-savich") is a Serbian immigrant who grew up in the United States.
    • Everyone in the Empire of the Rising Sun appears to be Chinese, save for the Emperor himself. Kelly Hu is also of Hawaiian descent, which makes her of Japanese descent in this timeline.
  • Hey, It's That Guy!: Hey, it's:
  • McLeaned: Actor Nicholas Worth, who played Premier Romanov, died a year before Red Alert 3 was released. The game explains his absence by saying he has fled.
  • Name's the Same:
    • Nikolai (Krukov and Moskvin).
    • Players unfamiliar with the game may get a bit of nostalgia when they first hear of the name "General Krukov", which is one letter away from the famous traitor "Kukov" from Red Alert 1. Turns it out may have been intentional, as guess who betrays you about halfway through the Soviet Campaign?
  • Stunt Casting: Gina Carano's role as Natasha amounts to a single non speaking cameo in the Allied campaign and the Natasha unit in gameplay is clearly voiced by someone else.
