His most famous compositions are:
- Stargate- the opening theme
- Independence Day
- Three James Bond themes ("The World Is Not Enough", "Surrender" from Tomorrow Never Dies, and Casino Royale's "You Know My Name"), and the scores for the James Bond series from Tomorrow Never Dies to Quantum of Solace (Thomas Newman is replacing him on Skyfall due to Arnold's work on the 2012 Olympics in London).
- The Big Finish version of the Doctor Who theme.
- Composed the score for Sherlock with David Price.
- After Casino Royale, he worked on the soundtrack for Hot Fuzz.
He has also worked on Little Britain and made cameo appearances.
