Dull Surprise: Téa Leoni's performance in this film just screams this.
She does okay as the Smug SnakeIntrepid Reporter looking for a political scandal. Its when the end of the world is confirmed and she has to show she has hidden depths, that her acting takes a turn for the worse.
Harsher in Hindsight: Go on, guess which twin buildings are shown to be the only structures left standing out of the water after the tsunami has drowned New York.
That scene with the Twin Towers has been edited out of some TV broadcasts of the movie... never mind that it takes place in 1998.
