Josie Day

• Clones Are People, Too: She's a portrait of Lady Josephine, a wealthy aristocrat, created using Animae paint. She was bought at auction by the Twelfth Doctor and sent back to meet the Eight Doctor so she could be her own person.
• Friend to All Living Things

Tara Mishra

• Always Someone Better: How Rose initially views her.
• Bully Hunter: Some of her moments in Slaver's Song suggest this. At the very least, she thinks very little of bullies.
• Combat Medic
• The Eighties: When she's from (or maybe The Seventies).
• Fish Out of Temporal Water: While all companions are this by default, the future in Who is always a reflection of the times it was written in. As such, she's noticeably caught off-guard by the idea of social media.
• I Choose to Stay: Stays behind on Nomicae in The Bidding War to help it rebuild.
• Jumped At the Call: Her life philosophy.
• What the Hell, Hero?: Gives a light one to the Doctor given that he just up and left Nomicae after it had been subject to Death From Above.

Tenth Doctor

Gabby Gonzalez

• The Ace: Of all the comic original companions, it seems that Ten, Eleven, and Twelve regard her as the best of the bunch.
• Always Second Best: Began to fear that she was this to Cindy after her friend's Character Development.
• Depending on the Artist: Her appearance varies greatly. Is she taller than Cindy? How dark is her skin? How are her features framed? How long is her hair? She generally seems to look like a composite between Victoria Justice and Selena Gomez.
• Future Me Scares Me: Considering that the future her was an Eldritch Abomination, it's quite a valid fear.
• My Greatest Failure: Not being able to save the Innocent Bystanders in Music Man.
• Please Don't Leave Me: After the Doctor did leave her in a negated future, and how close he's becoming to Cindy, she really wants to stick by him in The Good Companion.
• Sherlock Scan: In Four Doctors, she's quick to see that Twelve isn't burdened by the Time War like Ten or Eleven.
• Touched by Vorlons: Gains some Reality Warper powers after being infected by a block transfer matrix from the Apprentice.
• You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Constantly notes that Cindy does not need to be in a relationship to feel good about herself.

Cindy Wu

• All Love Is Unrequited: Her crush on Gabby. Hooks up with Cleo instead.
• Bi the Way
• Birds of a Feather:
  • When she and Ten have some alone time, they get along like a house on fire given their shared tendencies for snark and pop culture.
  • With Sarah Jane. Though they sadly bond over unrequited love.
• Deadpan Snarker
• Character Development: Started out as a Cowardly Lion who worried that she was Always Second Best compared to Gabby and by the end, was so confident in interacting with the Doctor and sprouting Techno Babble that Gabby feared that she had become Always Second Best to Cindy.
• Depending on the Artist: To a lesser extent than Gabby but her height isn't very consistent.
• My Own Grampa: Thanks to letting loose a bunch of clones of herself in Ancient China, she's her own really great grandmother.
• Outliving One's Offspring: Thanks to Time Travel, she outlived her many thousand clones.
• Pop-Cultured Badass: Has a Shout-Out for every situation.

Noobis

• Agony Beam: Like Suketh, he can project one.
• In the Blood: Averted. He's consciously trying to not be like his father.
• Last of His Kind: The last Osirian in this reality, the rest having gone off to Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence. Noobis was left behind to guard the gate they used to make the trek and to guard against Suketh's return.
• Only Known by Their Nickname: His full name is Anubis but rarely anyone calls him that.

Cleopatra Hunsicker

• Big Beautiful Woman: On the heavyset side and easy on the eyes.
• Heel Face Turn
• In-Series Nickname: Almost exclusively called Cleo.
• Second Love: To Cindy and Cindy to her.
• Stout Strength
• Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Think of Captain Jack Harkness and/or River Song as a large heavyset black woman and you've basically summarized her.

Rose

• Aw, Look — They Really Do Love Each Other: As much as Rose can't stand the Doctor talking about how wonderful Rose Tyler was, she does want him to be happy.
• Replacement Goldfish: Well, cat.
• Shipping Torpedo: Has had it up to here with Ten/Rose. Though her desire to sink Ten/Rose isn't out of hatred for Rose Tyler but simply because she feels that the Doctor is too caught up on his old companion and should move on.

Eleventh Doctor

Alice Obiefune

• My Species Doth Protest Too Much: Unlike most companions, she has a somewhat low opinion of both British culture and Earth's futures.
• Ship Tease: With Daak.
• Sympathy for the Devil: Well, "Sympathy for the Punch Clock Villains" at any rate. As a librarian, she's quite familiar with how it is to work a dead end job for minimum wage so Rokhandi World earns her sympathy.
• Unfazed Everyman
• Vague Age: Has been described as being in both her '30s and her '40s.

John Jones

• Earn Your Happy Ending: He never lived to see it, but his music became more popular than he ever could have hoped.
• Expy: He can shapeshift and his name is "John Jones." It really couldn't be more obvious.
• No Celebrities Were Harmed: Take a shot every time there's a David Bowie Shout-Out around him.

ARC

• Obliviously Evil: Absorbed minds because it was the only he knew how to communicate.
• Starfish Aliens: Biologically, ARC is a "big glob of stuff."
• Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Think Kamelion done right.
• Voluntary Shapeshifting

Abslom Daak

• Bounty Hunter: He's a Dalek Killer. A convicted criminal whom the Earth Empire of the 26th century offered the choice of execution or being sent behind Dalek lines. He chose the latter.
• The Bus Came Back
• Crusading Widower: Works through his grief by hacking Daleks to pieces.
• Ship Tease: With Alice.

The Squire

• Action Girl
• Big Bad Friend

The Sapling

• My Species Doth Protest Too Much: His species' MO is Hostile Terraforming. Having absorbed the Doctor and Alice's memories, he has no interest in such.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: Well to all the original companions but the last shot is the Doctor asking what he'll do with his life. The Sapling debates staying with the Doctor or blazing a trail of his own but the issue ends before his answer is given.

Twelfth Doctor

Hattie

• Bald of Awesome
• Celebrity Is Overrated: She boards the TARIDS because it can take her away from the nosy press.
• Foil: Her rough exterior and more easy acceptance of Twelve make her a marked contrast to Clara.
• Jumped At the Call: Twice.
• Punk Rock

Julie d'Aubigny

• Fiery Redhead: And how!
• Hair-Trigger Temper: Everything anyone says is a misogynistic insult and an invitation to duel to the death.
• Historical Domain Character: With a Historical Badass Upgrade.
• Refused by the Call: She wanted to jump into the TARDIS but the Doctor left her behind, aware of her role in history, and convinced her to blaze her own path.

Villains

Earlier Doctors

Ramón Salamander

• Corrupt Corporate Executive
• Eviler Than Thou: So ridiculously competent that he makes the Master look like a rank amateur.
• Giving Radio to the Romans: His plan which he intended to be a stepping stone to humans becoming the new Time Lords.
• Identical Stranger: As in his debut episode, he's a dead ringer for the Second Doctor.
• Master Actor: Everyone who'd met the Second Doctor, even the Third Doctor, took him as the real deal.
• No-Nonsense Nemesis
• Pragmatic Villainy: His scheme isn't as extravagant at the Master's plans. But he pulls a Near Villain Victory.
• Trapped in the Past: From 2018 and stuck in The Seventies. Or maybe The Eighties. A bit of Reality Ensues as does get stuck on how the older tech works every now and then.
• Villainous Breakdown: Eventually opts to strangle the Third Doctor to death. It works about as well as one expects.

The Medusa

• Beethoven Was an Alien Spy
• Grand Theft Me: Steals Lady Carstairs' body.
• Honor Before Reason: The Doctor offers to take the Medusa to a planet where she can feed on non-sentient lifeforms but she refuses, claiming that it would make her little more than an animal on a reservation.
• You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Never intended to help Lady Carstairs.

The Unon

• Blind Seer: Evja.
• Create Your Own Villain: With the Lect.
• Crystal Spires and Togas: The Perpetual City. They made out of wrecked Time Lord tech powered by Dalek superweapon called the Entropy Engine.
• Holier Than Thou: The Doctor gets quite a kick out of mocking their religiosity.
• Karma Houdini: At the end, the Doctor takes them to an empty planet to rebuild and start fresh. He's seen enough genocide.
• Knight Templar: They went down the Time Lords' darkest paths in record time.
• Time Police: Self elected as such.
• Too Much Alike: The exact reason that the Doctor doesn't want them as the new Time Lords. They will repeat every mistake his people made.
• Well-Intentioned Extremist: They only wanted to ensure that time had a new guardian after the Time Lords died.

The Lect

• Meaningful Rename: In their native tongue, "Lect" is a god of war and revenge.
• Revenge Before Reason: Dedicated to the destruction of the Unon at any cost. Even their extinction.
• Used to Be a Sweet Kid: They were once dedicated to peaceful sciences.

Tenth Doctor

The Time Sentinels

• AI Is a Crapshoot: Subverted. They're not evil, though they're not nice, but the Red TARDIS corrupting them certainly is.
• Anti-Mutiny: Blue slides into this trope perfectly in The Good Companion.
• Foreshadowing: The fact that they can so readily circumvent the Time Lords' defences hint at the fact they're self-aware Time Lord technology.
• Heel Face Door Slam: Aspect Blue really wanted to do good and travel with the Doctor only for the Red TARDIS to tear his last body apart.
• Hive Mind/Mind Hive: They tread the line between the two tropes and bring in a bit of Literal Split Personality. Each Aspect makes up the Lock-Keeper but each Aspect is also a separate individual from the Lock-Keeper and can create more of themselves, namely the army of Blues in The Good Companion.
• Token Good Teammate: Aspect Blue.
• Well-Intentioned Extremist: Their goal is to ensure that the Time Lock remains undamaged.

Red TARDIS

• Eldritch Abomination: Even the Doctor foregoes his usual Admiring the Abomination and anti-"It Is Dehumanizing" attitude when this thing shows up.
• Evil Counterpart: Quite clearly one to the TARDIS.
• Eviler Than Thou: To the Time Sentinels, becoming the final Big Bad of the Tenth Doctor comics. The Time Sentinels are, at their worst, Well-Intentioned Extremists while the Red TARDIS is simply guided by hate.
• Giant Space Flea From Nowhere: Simply comes from outside of N-Space and intends to open the door to allow more of its kind in.
• Lotus Eater Machine: Created a giant department store's worth of this in Breakfast at Tyranny's.
• Not Quite Dead: Thought destroyed at the end of Breakfast at Tyranny's but revealed to have survived in The Good Companion.
• Outside Context Villain: The Time Sentinels can handle anything in the universe. Something from outside the universe? Less so.

Eleventh Doctor

The Talent Scout

• Big Bad
• Deal with the Devil
• From Nobody to Nightmare: Originally just an explorer, an evil one but still, before he was absorbed by the Entity and spat out, having gained a portion of its powers.
• Have We Met Yet?: With the Doctor.
• Karma Houdini: The Doctor leaves him in a Lotus Eater Machine.

August Hart

• Have We Met Yet?: Him and the Doctor.

The Then and Now

• Was Once a Man: But is now an Eldritch Abomination after mucking about with their own timestream.

The Volatix Cabal

• No Place for Me There: Intended to die once the Daleks had won the Time War. And when they realize that no Dalek victory is forthcoming...
• Non Standard Character Design: Their shells look nothing like those ordinary Daleks.
• Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To the Cult of Skaro.

The Scream

• Gone Horribly Right: A Silent so superb that it makes others of his kind forget him.
• Puff of Logic: Eventually made to forget his own existence while in a mental environment, erasing him.
• Sympathy for the Devil: The Doctor and Alice both feel a great deal of sorrow for him.

Twelfth Doctor

The Hyperions

• Book Ends: They start and end the first year of the Twelfth Doctor's stories.
• Higher-Tech Species: The Time Lords formed The Alliance to fight these guys on equal footing.
• Superior Species

The Sea Devils

• The Assimilator: Their tadpoles can burrow into a human and, over a few years, convert them into Sea Devils.
• Curb Stomp Battle: Their technology destroys all of UNIT's with ridiculous ease.
• Eviler Than Thou: To the Silurians.
• Hostile Terraforming: They're pushing along global warming to recreate Earth's prehistoric era.
• President Evil: One of them, Daniel Claremont, is Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
• Superior Species: Their haughtiness would do Rassilon proud.
• Villain Has a Point: Not only was Earth was their planet first, the humans kill each other over ridiculously petty differences. Who's to say that they wouldn't do the same to the Sea Devils?

Others

The Micro Machines

• Do-Anything Robot: Outright designed as such.
• Hive Mind
• Mechanical Lifeforms
• Nanomachines: What they are.
• Non-Malicious Monster: They don't want to hurt anyone. But their creator programmed them to do so.
• Person of Mass Destruction: It's believed that they could conquer the galaxy in a very short time.

Glom

• Butt Monkey: Poor guy just cannot catch a break when the Ninth Doctor is around.
• Honest John's Dealership
• Oh Crap: Knows that the Doctor is a harbinger of bad things.

The Entity

• Blue and Orange Morality: What actually guides the entity? All anyone can make sense of it that it has a desire to eat but that's it. Beyond that it doesn't seem able to make sense of anything that's happening around it.
• Cowardly Lion: It's powerful but it doesn't know how to fight.
• Eldritch Abomination: It's a moon sized, genderless, mass of protoplasm that feasts off minds and stories.
• Lotus Eater Machine: Its preferred method of catching prey.
• Non-Malicious Monster: The only trait of it that can be understood is that is likes eating people's minds. And even then, it's only doing that to survive.
• Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: The Doctor's mind is too much for it.
• The Worf Effect: What better way to show off its power than by having it control the Cybermen?

The Voord

• Heel Face Turn: During the Time War, they became quite good friends with the War Doctor, contrasting their antagonism with him in his first incarnation.
• Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: In taking measures to ensure that the Time Lords would not revert their timeline, the Voord ultimately ended up having to do that to survive.
• Took a Level In Badass: They took quite a few during the Last Great Time War, being the only race known to benefit from the paradoxes.

The Type 1

• Expy: Some of its early moments recall the MCU version of Ultron, being born with too much power for it to properly comprehend and being overwhelmed by information driving it to madness.
• I Choose to Stay: Stays in the Void to find peace.
• Sentient Vehicle: Even more outspoken than the Doctor's TARDIS.
• Super Prototype: It's able to use the Void to open white holes. The Doctor's Type 40 TARDIS was trapped without power just by crossing the Void. Deconstructed in some regards as it's still a prototype and lacks some of the safety and self-repair features of the Doctor's TARDIS as well as having more resource expensive construction.

The Moment

• Big Good: It's manipulating everything to ensure that the Doctor will make the right choice when it comes to saving Gallifrey.

The Corsair

• Action Girl
• Foil: Aside from their shared penchant for keeping secrets, everything about her is the total opposite of the Thirteenth Doctor.
• Have We Met Yet?: The Doctor is keenly aware that her friend will soon be killed by House.
• Karmic Thief: Steals at the behest of the item's original owner.
• Space Pirates: Her TARDIS takes the form of a pirate ship.
