- Acceptable Target: Magic Users, which is why Kaiman's slaughter of them doesn't make him abhorrent. Because, for the most part, they had it coming.
- Crazy Awesome - Johnson, a human-sized cockroach that spouts "Shocking!", among others.
- Crosses the Line Twice - When Dokuga and friends try to make their morbidly obese landlady's death seem natural. The sheer wrongness of what they do with her corpse and the results (try and put her in the bathtub, only to have all the water come out, and trying to hang her only to have her fall and nearly crush them), makes the scene really funny.
- Fashion Victim Villain - Ebisu. Villain may be up for debate, but she wears some truly different outfits.
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel: Kai, just Kai. The hallway made out of Magic User heads is another example.
- Moral Event Horizon - Kai killing Natsuki.
- Ugly Cute - Kaiman is a lizard man who occasionally kills people in broad daylight. Who often comes off as a gyoza-loving dork. Who kills people in broad daylight.
- Kikurage as well. Though not "ugly" per se, it looks like a demon... and acts just like a cat, which makes it adorable.
- The Woobie - Kaiman, Fujita and Ebisu are the most notable examples.
