- Lumera's relationship with Alear, full stop. From the moment they meet her in the beginning to her kindness while training with them, to her reaching out to them in the past when they were still Sombron's child and desperate to please him in order to survive, she never falters in her kindness and Alear never forgets that.
- King Morion of Brodia has some major flaws, but being a bad father is not one of them. Any other King of a military might-obsessed country would scorn a younger son like Alcryst, but Morion loves and values him as strongly as he does his older son Diamant.
- Diamant's relationship with Alcryst, too. He's a firm but kind big brother who only wants Alcryst to be his best and understand how amazing he is. Brodia does some questionable things, but the royal family is nothing but close and loving.
- Amber's story of becoming a retainer. He entered the tournament in hopes of finding purpose and adventure beyond his life on the alpaca ranch, only to lose to Jade and leave the arena in tears. Diamant found him crying alone, held out his hand, and asked Amber to become his second retainer. Amber has never, ever forgotten that and holds Diamant in the highest regard because of it. The manga ups the ante by showing the moment in Amber's flashback.
- Goldmary and Lapis's supports. Lapis is usually so self-conscious about her poor upbringing that she panics if anyone figures it out, but here, she doesn't care, only focused on offering Goldmary advice about how to chase bears away from her family's inn while easily talking about how her own family got by with their infertile land. In turn, Goldmary is much more mellow and less passive-aggressive, taking an instant liking to Lapis and becoming fast friends with her.
- Rosado, period. He's a cis male who dresses like a woman, wears the female variants of the Somniel's clothes, and is never ridiculed for it by anyone - nor does he worry about being ridiculed. He's completely comfortable in his own skin and encourages others to be the same, sees beauty in just about everything, and is quick to compliment others' efforts to find their own cuteness. Even in his flawed moments he's not above realizing he was wrong and learning from it.
