Future War 198X is a heavy, heavy anvil about how bad the consequences of war of nuclear weapons used in a modern era. That would be bad enough for Japanese people. Particular moments would be:
- The English-German soldier Michael's beloved girlfriend, Marina, dies in his arms after being crushed by a building. He completely snaps afterwards, first releasing the nuclear warhead that destroyed thousands of enemy tanks, and then watching the destruction, waiting to die while holding the flower she once wore in her lapel, softly singing the song Edelweiss...
- The child whose mother died, being comforted by Laura.
