A 2014 manga series about a girl called Fuuka.
Yuu Haruna's parents leaved the country and now he lives alone with his sisters. One day, while walking through the street, he meets a girl called Fuuka that thinks he's a pervert trying to take an upskirt photo of her and breaks his phone over it. And then a similar incident happens the next day, only in the school where both study. After a mistaken case of stalking, Fuuka thinks Yu is so cool for trying to help her that they become friends from that point then.
Written by Seo Kouji. Serialized on Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine.
Tropes used in Fuuka (manga) include:
- Accidental Pervert: Yuu tends to fall on Fuuka in weird ways.
- Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Sara tends to act and aloof and her hair is noticeably dark in manga panels.
- Arranged Marriage: When the band disbands post-chapter 38, Makoto decides to go back to his dad to ask for support. Mister Mikasa tells him he will marry a girl who his father has chosen for him.
- Fanservice: Lots of it, it is an Ecchi manga after all. Panty shots, girls in lingerie and others forms of exposition of the female body for erotic purposes happen in almost every chapter.
- First-Name Basis: After they become boyfriend and girlfriend at chapter 34, Fuuka asks that Yuu calls her by first name without honorifics, as it is usual in Japan.
- Flag Bikini: Sara wears a Union Jack bikini top on the cover of chapter 159, since she is in London at that point of the manga.
- Girlish Pigtails: It's not hard to remember who Yuu's youngest sister Haruna is: is the sister with this kind of hairstyle.
- The Ghost: We never see Fuuka Aoi's father, but he is quite an important character.
- Indirect Kiss: Yuu gets nervous at the prospect of drinking from the same bottle as Aoi. This drives her to give him a direct kiss already.
- Interrupted Intimacy: Aoba interrupts Yuu and Fuuka Aoi while he was feeling Fuuka's breasts.
- Killed Off for Real: Fuuka dies on chapter 38, hit by a truck.
- Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold: Sara seems to be quite of a jerk at first, but it turns she's just so socially inept that she seems to not understand at first how she acts like she is one.
- Ms. Fanservice: Sara, thanks to constantly being drawn in flattering outfits or put in embarrassing situations during the manga's whole run.
- Panty Shot: The whole series' plot kickstarts with Yuu supposedly taking a upskirt photo of Fuuka, and then he accidentaly does take an photo of her panties thanks to the wind in the next day.
- Pervert Revenge Mode: Fuuka tends to punch Yuu after every Accidental Pervert moment between the two.
- Phenotype Stereotype: Shelly Hornet, the only major american character, has blonde hair and blue eyes.
- Relationship Upgrade: From chapter 34 on, Fuuka and Yuu become boyfriend and girlfriend.
- Shower Scene: In Chapter 147 Fuuka Aoi gets one, though it only last for one panel.
- Straight Gay: Mikasa nonchalantly reveals to Yuu who he is gay after (correctly) suspect that Yuu is jealous that maybe Fuuka and him had something. There's no other signals before that, probably because the manga likes to make Yuu look like an idiot by making him misunderstand things.
- Tsundere: Mikasa believes Nachi is this towards the rest of their group.
- Unprovoked Pervert Payback: Hinashi slaps Yuu in chapter 50 for seeing her in lingerie, despite the fact that happenned because she stripped in front of him in first place. She does apologize right after.
- Zettai Ryouiki: Sara's schoogirl uniform is rank S.
