Like its parent show, this one runs on life lessons and events that highlight the love and care among the characters.
- "Girl Meets I Am Farkle" in general.
- Jennifer Basset's reveal as Minkus's wife and Farkle's mother. Though her and Minkus's marriage had its rocky points the episode makes it clear she's grown some since high school and that she and Minkus truly love each other.
- The episode's handling of autism and Asperger's syndrome. While they don't treat it like a disease, they do acknowledge that it's something none of them truly understand. Minkus and Jennifer are worried that having a child with Asperger's will change their lives, but it's more of a "what can we do for him" worry that's eased by Cory reminding them that they're both good parents, and Minkus confirming that they'd love their son no matter what happened. Riley and co also do research on Asperger's so they can understand it and support their friend.
- Later, Riley realizes Smackle is the one with Asperger's, which Smackle confirms and Farkle realizes before she can confess to him. The episode ends with her wishing she could be "normal", but it's treated as a sad moment that highlights her insecurities. Later episodes go out of their way to have the group love and accept her for who she is.
- This exchange:
Farkle: Thanks for having me, Mom. |
- Topanga and Farkle having a chat in "Girl Meets Bear", where they discuss how even if people grow up and change their past selves are still a part of them.
- In the same episode, Auggie finds Alan's silver boxing gloves on a chain, prompting Cory to remember the events of the parent show's "Kid Gloves" episode. He then gives the necklace to Auggie.
- In "Girl Meets Flaws," Topanga picking up Ava and giving her a big hug and a kiss, telling her to never stop being herself. She and Ava might play up the cliché of a boy's mother and girlfriend not liking each other, but deep down Topanga has some affection for the little girl and Ava has some respect for Topanga.
- Harley Kiner's significant character development since Boy Meets World. He's still got a snarky edge to him, and he can scare people when he needs to. But he's a much better person, and he credits it to Cory's kindness. Cory even got him his job as the janitor, which he takes pride in.
- "Girl Meets the Forgotten" has the kids learning what it's like to be a lunchlady and a janitor. The experience is enough to make them really appreciate what Harley and Jeralynn go through.
- Riley and Maya's friendship has too many moments to count. Riley will move the galaxies to make Maya happy, and what little hope and belief Maya has in the world is because of Riley.
- "Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels Goes to Washington" has Eric running for mayor with the help of a journalist named TJ Murphy. During a debate, TJ speaks on Eric's behalf, revealing that he once made a big sacrifice for his sake. This leads Eric to immediately realize it's Tommy, a boy from the parent series he'd formed a bond with and even seriously considered adopting before letting another family do so, realizing Tommy would have a better life with them.
- Mr. Turner's triumphant return as superintendent, proving beyond the shadow of a doubt that he survived his motorcycle accident in "Cult Fiction".
- He gets another one in the series finale when he says he wishes he'd adopted Shawn, doubling as a Tear Jerker.
