Grapple hook with style!
Grapple Shot is the skill where a tether is used to grapple onto a surface. The most popular device, of course, would be a grappling hook, but other gadgets could be used. An example would be a flexible tendril that can stretch and wrap around an anchor that could be used for grapple shooting. One could use it as their primary form of transportation, where they could swing from building to building. In combat, characters use such a technique to entangle an enemy or maneuver around the area.
Examples of Grapple Shot include:
Anime and Manga[]
- Attack on Titan: As seen in the picture above, the 3D Maneuver Gear is standard equipment soldiers within the walls use to fight against the titles. They use a harness with retractable hooked cables shot by compressed gas stored in cans, allowing jet-propelled maneuverability.
- In My Hero Academia, Tape is the Quirk of Sero, aka Cellophane, allowing him to make an adhesive tape from his elbows that can stick to surfaces. He can use them for mobility by attaching them to a surface to swing or pull himself to another point.
