Haiopeis

Haiopeis (a pun on the German word for sharks, "Haie", and the slang term "Heiopei" for "idiot") is a German comic strip by Thomas Siemensen that started in 1993.

Tropes used in Haiopeis include:

• All Animals Are Dogs: Oysters for sharks (one shark calls them "shark's best friend"). With a bit of parrot on the side -- one shark tries to teach his oyster how to speak. (With "blubb" it works, with "desoxyribonucleic acid" probably not.)
• Argument of Contradictions: It ends with "NO! Sharks are not too stupid for discussions!"
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The various plankton characters, now that we have Paul Plankton from SpongeBob SquarePants.
• Never My Fault: Two sharks discover something in the sea.

Shark 1: Look, that's Sylt! (There is some... thing floating in the sea, about one foot wide.) Shark 2: Impossible, can't be Sylt. Sylt is much bigger. Shark 1: How do you know that? You've never been there! Shark 2 (touches the thing): Hey, that's a cow pie! Shark 1: How do you know Sylt isn't a cow pie? (The thing sinks.) Shark 1: Typical! First you're a know-it-all, and then you sink Sylt!

• Nonsense Classification: In an office.

Shark 1: "Do you know where that file for Mr. Waster is?" Shark 2: "Uh, I dunno... maybe under 'F' as in 'file'?" Shark 1: "You don't know?! Man, that file was important!" Shark 2: "Or under 'I' as in 'important'?" Shark 1: "Did you lose it? Oh man, that means trouble!" Shark 2: "Maybe 'D' as in 'drouble'? Nah..." Shark 1: "Mr. Waster will be so angry that the file was lost!" Shark 2: "Oh, now I remember! It's of course under 'waste' as in 'Waster'."
