Hibike euphonium

Hibike! Euphonium (響け! ユーフォニアム Hibike! Yūfoniamu, mostly known as Sound! Euphonium) is a Japanese novel series by Ayano Takeda, with illustrations by Nikki Asada. It has: a manga adaptation (illustrated by Hami, which ran in the website Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Web), a two-season anime by Kyoto Animation in 2015-2016, a spin-off movie of sorts (Liz and the Blue Bird) released in 2018, and a film adaptation from 2019.

The main character is Kumiko Oumae, a girl from Uji (a city near Kyoto) who is trying to find her path in life and is questioning her indecisive personality. She becomes a first year student in the local Kitaouji High School, and since she plays the euphonium, she applies to its Concert Band Club. Said club has definitely seen better days, but not all hope is lost: the new instructor, Noboru Taki, has decided to recover the lost glory and get the members to go to the National Tournaments. So Kumiko, her once-estranged best friend Reina Kousaka, her other childhood friend Shuichi Tsukamoto, her new friends Hazuki Katou and Sapphire "Midori" Tachibana, the club vice-president Asuka Tanaka and the rest of the club members start to prepare themselves for such a challenge...
