Also, what makes the movies much scarier is the fact that it's not a single maniac, nor even a family (much like the Sawyer from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), but a whole secret ring of Ax Crazy, ruthless psychopaths, dedicated to torture and murder innocent tourists.
In fact, it's literally a mafia of torturers. They practice businesses, have fronts which they use to lure naive would-be victims, and most importantly, they also have hitmen, doctors and corrupt law enforcers to kill any threat or victim that actually managed to escape. This is the fate of Paxton, eventually killed in the sequel.
And if you believed that, at least, Elite Hunting only operates in Slovakia, you're deadly wrong. They are indeed worldwide, as seen in the third movie which takes place in Las Vegas.
How the Dutch Businessman betrays the person he actually saved days ago, Josh. The worst is that he actually keeps an Affably Evil facade while torturing his poor victim, explaining to him that he always wanted to become a surgeon, but couldn't because he shakes his hands too much, so he resorted to Elite Hunting in order to bring him a victim to dissect...
Paxton witnessing Josh's body dissected by the depraved Dutch man, before being dragged to his torture cell. Along the way, he also sees unknown people being tortured and mutilated in gruesome manners.
And how it came to this: Paxton just asked Natalya and Svetlana if they knew where Josh was. It turns out that the two women knew what happened to him and purposefully led the naive Paxton into a trap, while answering his question.
Then, Paxton's torture. He has some of his fingers cut off with a chainsaw while vomiting out of fear (and pain too, presumably). Fortunately, he manages to escape.
And how the client dies: as he sees that his victim managed to get rid of his restraints, he charges him, only to slips on the blood and severing his own leg as a result, before Paxton shoots him in the head.
Kana's torture. The poor girl has her face burnt by a particularly ruthless client. When Paxton kills the latter and rescues her, he's forced to sever her unstable eye. Arguably the goriest scene of the movie.
Not only that but she also kills herself when she sees what her face became, by leaping in front of an oncoming train. So it's All for Nothing.
Hostel: Part II[]
Paxton's death. He's found headless by his girlfriend in the kitchen.
This also means that nobody can escape Elite Hunting clutches, especially if you actually damaged their businesses. Paxton indeed killed many guards and clients.
Lorna's fate. She awakens naked and hung upside down above a bathtub. Moments later, a lady enters the room, then slashes at her with a scythe to collect her blood in the bathtub. She then bathes in the blood before slashing her victim's throat. Much like the eye scene from the previous movie, it's terribly messy and frightening.
The sadistic killer also removes her victim's gag so she can hear her screams of pain and fear.
A man is briefly seen eating his victim, the latter being conscious although numb from the shock.
How Todd tortures Whithney. He maims her face with a power saw but soon began to regret it. When he sought to quit, he's mauled to death by dogs unleashed under Rassimov's orders, as the victim has to die and cannot be left alive.
Stuart's death: Beth ruthlessly cuts off his genitals, leaving him to bleed to death.
Mike's death: the devious, unnamed doctorpeels off his face, while his victim pleads for his life. This is even worse than Kana's fate (who ended up losing half of her face and an eye).
However, this is nothing compared to Nikki's death: the same doctor releases a jar full of nasty cockroaches, who end up in her mouth, suffocating her. If you have a particular disgust of insects, you will throw up upon seeing this.
Scott at the end, alive but severely burnt. Doubles as Moment of Awesome, considering that he managed to survive both a fight against a deadly maniac and an explosion.
