This page lists all characters in Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk 2, the second game of the Neptunia series, and the tropes associated with them. Tropes specific to their portrayal in the other games of the series belong on the pages for those games.
CP Us and CPU Candidates[]
General CPU & CPU Candidate Tropes[]
- Exotic Eye Designs: All CPUs and CPU Candidates have a power symbol in their eyes when in HDD.
- Moe Anthropomorphism: Of various consoles.
- Physical God
- Really Seven Hundred Years Old
Neptune/Purple Heart[]
Voiced by: Rie Tanaka (Japanese), Melissa Fahn (English) |
- Big Eater
- Genki Girl: In her normal form
- Girly Run
- Glass Cannon: As Purple Heart with the default Processor setup.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Uses Katanas, Broadswords, and Laser Blades. Ultimately many will see that Katanas Are Just Better; turns come up sooner, gun attacks become stronger, and Purple Heart only uses katanas regardless of what she had equipped as Neptune.
- Heroic Safe Mode: Neptune suffers from this after her attempt to get the other goddesses to help her fight Arfoire.
- Hollywood Pudgy: Is referred to as being pudgy a few times throughout the game, mostly right along side her eating habits.
- In the Name of the Moon: One of Neptune's battle quotes involves this.
- Lady of War: Her Purple Heart personality.
- Mundane Utility: Transforms into Purple Heart just so she can ride a roller coaster. Nepgear and Uni lampshade it.
- My Sister Is Off-Limits: Says as much in one of her character info page quotes.
"Nepgear ain't never going to marry! I'm banning the idea forever!" |
- Jack of All Stats: As Neptune
- Panty Shot: Has one whenever she uses her hammer ability.
- Paper Fan of Doom: Her DLC weapon is this.
- Ship Tease: Many of the official art has her doing this with Noire.
- Split Personality: Neptune is a Genki Girl, while her alter ego Purple Heart seems to be more of a Lady of War.
- Sword and Gun: Neptune seems to keep a sword and a gun on her, but we never see where she gets the gun.
- Totally Radical: She tends to use some 80's/90's slang such as "bad dude", her death cry of "I'm... outies...", and even "totally rad" at one point. She also has a tinge of Valley Girl in her voice. Keep in mind that she is supposed to represent Sega, who were all about being Totally Radical in the 90's.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Not her but her "CPU Neptune" skill from the first game.
- Zettai Ryouiki
Vert/Green Heart[]
Voiced by: Rina Sato (Japanese), Tara Platt (English) |
- Actor Allusion: Japan-only. Shares the same weapon as Mikoto.
- Blade on a Stick
- This Is a Drill Green Heart's spears transform into these.
- Berserk Button: She mentions one on her character info page.
"I don't know who it was, but whoever invented the fatigue system must be just a world class terrorist. |
- Cosplay Otaku Girl: Forces Nepgear to wear her costumes in her ending.
- Detached Sleeves: Both of her forms wear outfits that have this.
- Determinator: Takes a lot of punishment before she finally is killed in the Conquest Ending.
- Fragile Speedster: Both forms, though as with all CPU forms Green Heart can be customized away from this.
- Gamer Chick
- Hair of Gold
- Meaningful Name: "Vert" means "green" in French, and she's wearing green, which also represents the Xbox360.
- Mercy Kill: During the Conquest Ending route, she requests Nepgear to finish her off with the cursed sword since she has no hope of surviving after the beating Linda gives to her.
- Onee-Sama: Nepgear points out that she is the one most like a big sister among the goddesses, and that it's rather ironic considering she actually has no real sisters. Vert explains that it's merely because she had to to keep the other three of them in line.
- Tall Blonde And Bishoujo
- Underboobs: She plays this trope straight. Neptune even refers to her as such.
- You Gotta Have Green Hair: As Green Heart.
- Yaoi Fangirl: Her room is filled with yaoi merchandise, a rude awakening for any man who wants to ask her out.
Noire/Black Heart[]
Voiced by: Asami Imai (Japanese), Erin Fitzgerald (English) |
- Catch Phrase: Usually a variation of "Only does everything". A reference to how the PlayStation 3 was advertised.
- Detached Sleeves: Both of her forms wear outfits that have this.
- Expy: Somehow, Noire really resembles Azusa from K-On!.
- It's mildly implied that the resemblance was what inspired her to learn how to play a guitar.
- Both Noire and Azusa resemble Kooh from Pangya.
- Faking Amnesia: She does this when she encounters Neptune as Noire, not wanting to reveal her identity.
- Glass Cannon: As Black Heart with the default Processor setup.
- Heroes Prefer Swords
- Lightning Bruiser: As Noire.
- Meaningful Name: "Noire" means "black" in French.
- My Sister Is Off-Limits: Like Neptune, she says as much in her character info page.
- Revolvers Are Just Better: Noire's weapon of choice is a revolver. She is noticeably more deadly with her guns than the other members of the party.
- Royal Rapier
- Ship Tease: Many of the official art has her doing this with Neptune.
- Tsundere: Noire all the way, especially towards Neptune.
- White-Haired Pretty Girl: As Black Heart.
Blanc/White Heart[]
Voiced by: Kana Asumi (Japanese), Wendee Lee (English) |
- A-Cup Angst: Berserk Button is someone pointing out her flat chest.
- Badass Bookworm
- Blood Knight
- Detached Sleeves: Both of her forms wear outfits that have this.
- Drop the Hammer: Blanc's main weapon is a hammer.
- An Axe to Grind: The hammer turns into an axe when she becomes White Heart.
- Expy: Blanc is pretty much a white Vita. Which is now extremely hilarious now that the Play Station Vita is coming out.
- Fan Girl: Surprisingly, towards Falcom. She even asks for her autograph.
- Go Out with a Smile: During the Conquest Ending. After getting run through with the demon sword, she smiles and comments on how it hurts less than she expected, before breathing her last.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Don't her calm exterior fool you, she gets angry quite easily.
- Kuudere
- Lady Swearsalot: At first, she looks calm and collected... But it won't be even ten minutes into the game that you will find out that she doesn't shy away from spewing swearwords like an angry high school student... especially when angry!
- Meaningful Name: "Blanc" means "white".
- Mighty Glacier: As Blanc.
- My Sisters Are Off Limits: Like Neptune, she says as much in her character info page.
- Nice Hat
- Red Eyes, Take Warning
- Stone Wall: As White Heart with the default Processor setup.
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair: As White Heart.
Nepgear/Purple Sister[]
Voiced by: Yui Horie (Japanese), Christine Marie Cabanos (English) |
- Badass Arm-Fold: This is how Keiji Inafune appears to Nepgear.
- Badass Bookworm
- Bare Your Midriff: Her Lilac mkII Processor does this.
- Beehive Barrier: Her Panzer Blade attack causes her enemies to generate one for every swing, just so she can shatter them all in the process of beating them to death.
- Big Word Shout: During her Slash Wave attack. "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
- Bishie Sparkle: Gets these a few times, notably when Uni asks to join the party.
- Catch Phrase: Her oddly-constructed "What the goodness?!"
- Clueless Chick Magnet: Pretty much every other girl on the team aside from Neptune express or generally indicate interest in her, either to be their little sister or romantically. She usually doesn't even notice, or assumes they're joking.
- Combination Attack: The only one who is a required party member for a majority of the combination attacks, the total number (including the DLC power up) being at 10.
- Duel Boss: With a few characters.
- Hair Decorations
- Evil Feels Good: A borderline example, when she runs Linda through with the Demon Sword.
Nepgear: "I should have done this a long time ago." |
- Expy: Of Neptune
- Glowing Eyes of Doom: When you summon Keiji Inafune, his eyes glow before Nepgear delivers the final blow.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Especially if you summon Keiji Inafune.
- Intimate Healing: IF decides to go this route to snap her out of it and get her to go HDD. Compa voices disappointment that she wasn't the one who got to get "Lovey-Dovey" with Nepgear.
- Leeroy Jenkins: Tries to take on a dragon at the behest of "Chika" and almost gets owned by it before being rescued by Cave.
- Lightning Bruiser: Both she and Nisa think she's a Jack of All Stats when she's really this. If you play her right, she's a good tank, dishes out damage harder than the rest, is a required character to all of the Combination Attacks and yet the Irony? She's a Game Breaker if you place her as a support role because she's the only one who can get rid of the Damage Cap allowing other characters to damage enemies beyond 9999.
- Lonely At the Top: In the Conquest Ending. By the end, she has killed all the other goddesses and united the world under her rule, and those of her friends who are still alive leave her after Arfoire is defeated.
Nepgear: "This is the dark path that I've chosen to walk alone." |
- Mix-and-Match Weapon: As Purple Sister, she wields a rifle with a sword attached to it.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: In the Conquest End, she thinks of using the demonic sword to vanquish Arfoire, and ends up becoming the only goddess left in the entire world. Unfortunately the world is then headed towards destruction for if there is no competition, there can be no progress. CFW Arfoire even outright tells that to Nepgear.
- Shout-Out: Most of her skill is based on Temjin's weapons.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: While Purple Heart has a black dominant costume, Purple Sister has a white dominant costume.
- Stripperific: Her powered up costume.
- Took a Level In Badass: Starts off as meek, shy, and timid unlike her older sister. By the end of the game, she becomes the next goddess of Planeptune.
- Villain Protagonist: Becomes one in the Conquest End.
- Wave Motion Gun: Her Beam Rifle as Nepgear and the Inafune Beam.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Gets called out by other people on her actions in the Conquest End.
- White-Haired Pretty Girl: If you let her wear the Joshikousei costume.
- Wrench Wench
- Zettai Ryouiki: Same as her sister.
Uni/Black Sister[]
Voiced by: Eri Kitamura (Japanese), Sarah Williams (English) |
- BFG: Her weapon of choice.
- Small Girl, Big Gun
- Some of her guns imply that she's actually just making them look larger than they really are.
- Bare Your Midriff: In her power up Black Sister version.
- Boring but Practical: Charley Horse! does no damage nor does it help guard break, but it will lower even a boss's avoidance so someone else can actually start doing damage.
- Breast Expansion: Inverted. Turning into Black Sister causes her to flatten, and this actually gets brought up by Nepgear at one point.
- Camera Abuse: One of her skills kicks the camera and shuts it off. It's used to lower the accuracy of enemies.
- Expy: Of Noire
- Hair Decorations
- Love Confession: In her character info quotes, and surprisingly short and simple.
"I love you Nepgear." |
- Mega Twintails
- Named Weapons: After you kill Brave The Hard for the final time (that is, in the True Ending), Brave powers up her Black Sister weapon and gives her the Brave Cannon.
- Stripperific: As Black Sister
- Tsundere: Towards Nepgear.
- White-Haired Pretty Girl: As Black Sister
Ram/White Sister[]
Voiced by: Kaori Ishihara (Japanese) |
- Bare Your Midriff: The De-ess Slight Processor does this.
- Black Magician Girl
- Expy: Of Blanc
- I Don't Want to Die: During the Conquest Ending. Seeing her sister cry and say how scared she is ultimately breaks her as well.
- Incredibly Lame Pun: "I may be small, but don't belittle me!"
- Nice Hat
- Palette Swap: The Pink White Sister. Averted as Ram, her hair is longer than her sister's.
- Red Oni: To Rom's Blue Oni.
- Rose-Haired Girl: As White Sister.
- Sibling Team
- Sibling Yin-Yang
- Theme Twin Naming
Rom/White Sister[]
Voiced by: Yui Ogura (Japanese) |
- Bare Your Midriff: The De-ess Slight Processor does this.
- Black Magician Girl
- Expy: Of Blanc
- I Don't Want to Die: During the Conquest Ending. When the time comes for her and Ram to feed their souls to the demon sword, she cries desperately and says the words exactly.
- Nice Hat
- Palette Swap: The Blue White Sister. Averted as Rom, her hair is shorter than her sister's.
- Blue Oni: To Ram's Red Oni.
- Shy Blue-Haired Girl: As White Sister.
- Sibling Team
- Sibling Yin-Yang
- Terse Talker
- Theme Twin Naming
Makers[]
General Maker Tropes[]
- Moe Anthropomorphism: Of video game producers.
- Overshadowed by Awesome: In most settings these characters would be considered fairly powerful. Only problem is they're working with a bunch of Physical Gods. IF is the only one who seems bothered by this though, so she takes to training alone to keep up with Nepgear. After Nepgear catches her doing this, IF bans her from any personal training until she's a Super Soldier.
IF[1][]
Voiced by: Kana Ueda (Japanese), Kate Higgins (English) |
- Badass Longcoat: IF wears one.
- Bifurcated Weapon: IF's weapon looks like some Wolverine Claws with guns attached to it. It's also the only way she shoots at enemies.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Comes up both in Chirper events and her character info page quotes.
"I won't give Compa to anyone!.... Sh-She's my best friend." |
- Combination Attack: Aside from Nepgear, she also gets one with Compa. It looks like Weiss and Janus' Hazard Strike on crack.
- Deadpan Snarker: This is about a third of IF's dialogue due to feeling like the Only Sane Woman compared to her teammates.
- Face Palm
- Flash Step: Only if you get the DLC to power them up.
- Impractically Fancy Outfit: Her sleeves are a bit too long and partially cover her Qatars and Claws.
- In-Series Nickname: Iffy. Ai-chan (As in the "I" in IF) in Japan. Not exactly happy with it.
- Jack of All Stats: More so than Neptune as she also brings in a decent amount of healing capabilities.
- The Lancer
- Not So Stoic: While she'll try to keep things serious, she'll go into a Heroic BSOD over her phones breaking or start blatantly Breaking the Fourth Wall when pushed too far.
- Pay Evil Unto Evil: In mkII the Guild's primary activities are, as Nepgear quickly points out, "pretty wicked". It's okay though, because lately they've chosen to target criminal syndicates instead.
Nepgear: That reminds me, I wanted to ask what your organization actually...does. |
- Straight Woman: In one of the Chirper events, Neptune tells her that she can "take the role of the straight-faced punchline chick."
- Tall, Dark and Bishoujo
- Team Dad
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: Between her and Compa, she's the Tomboy.
- Too Many Belts: IF's design looks like she has a ton of belts on her clothes.
- And neck collars for everyone!
- She's only got two, three if you count the collar. One for her pants and one on her coat to hold her nine cellphones. Admittedly, the cuffs of her coat do look a bit like belts, but they're not.
- Transparent Closet: After Compa's Chick Magnet moment, Nisa calls attention to this, claiming that the closet door just opened. Nepgear is the only one that seemed surprised, everyone else just finds it completely adorable and immediately shift to topic to wedding plans while she repeatedly insists she meant to say something else.
- She becomes incredibly irritated and depressed, to the point of running off, when Nepgear asks Compa who she likes more, Neptune or IF.
- Tsundere: Type A. This is pointed out by name.
Compa[2][]
Voiced by: Kanako Sakai (Japanese), Cristina Valenzuela (English) |
- Armor-Piercing Slap: This is actually the most basic of her Breaker skills.
- The Chick
- Chick Magnet: Almost all of the party declares that they'd love to have her as a wife after they find out she's the only one among them that can cook. This actually causes IF to snap, leading to a moment of Stunned Silence.
IF: "S-Stop this stupid debate, everyone! Can't you see that Compa's all mine!?" |
- Combat Medic: Unfortunately she's also a Glass Cannon and will be among the first to die in boss fights.
- Combination Attack: Only with IF. Hmmm...
- Deadly Doctor: She discusses with Nepgear how to use her syringe as a weapon. Nepgear is understandably worried.
Compa: "Besides, syringes are easy to use. You can whack, thrust, or inject something into your opponent." |
- The Ditz: Compa gets rather spacey at times.
- Dojikko: Compa always seems to fall down whenever she is shown after a battle all the time. We do get to see a Panty Shot every single time.
- Girly Run
- Kill Sat: Her most powerful skill only obtainable via DLC.
- Improbable Weapon User: Giant Syringes that double as guns.
- Panty Shot: Compa has one as part of her victory "pose".
- Rose-Haired Girl
- Team Mom
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: Between her and IF she's the Girly Girl.
- Zettai Ryouiki
Gust[]
Voiced by: Natsuko Kuwatani (Japanese), Cassandra Lee (English) |
- Expressive Accessory: Her hat sometimes matches her expressions.
- Hulk Speak: Unlike the first game, she's from a foreign country in this continuity, and Nepgear notes her "accent". This is actually downplayed compared to the first game.
- Simple Staff
- The Smart Girl
- Third Person Person: Gust at times.
- Token Evil Teammate
- Verbal Tic: In the Japanese version of the game, Gust's desu-no. Where have I heard this before, considering who voiced Gust?
- What the Hell, Hero?: She steals and sells some of the Sisters' things. When they catch her and start to chew her out over it, she distracts them by bringing up who's selling for how much so they'll fight over who's more popular so she can escape.
Nisa/Nippon Ichi[]
Voiced by: Kaori Mizuhashi (Japanese), Michelle Ruff (English) |
- A-Cup Angst: Her Berserk Button is someone pointing out her flat chest.
- Absolute Cleavage: Nisa dresses like this. Sans the cleavage.
- Actor Allusion: Nepgear's entire dream sequence where Nippon Ichi fights off against monsters with Nepgear and Uni[3] cheering her on. Nippon Ichi then feels that her body is becoming a lot lighter, but gets chewed on by a random monster.
- Kaori Mizuhashi is pretty much the best person qualified to voice a character based on Nippon Ichi, considering the fact that she has voiced a main character in almost every single Nippon Ichi game and is practically an unofficial mascot for the company anyway. Her credits include Culotte in La Pucelle, Laharl in Disgaea, Marona in Phantom Brave, Pram in Makai Kingdom, Hanako in Disgaea 2 Cursed Memories, Shauna in Soul Nomad & The World Eaters and Asagi in Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero?.
- The Big Girl
- Dub Name Change: Her name was changed from Nippon Ichi to Nisa, to represent NIS America.
- Dynamic Entry: Justice Kick!
- Flechette Storm: She throws a lot of knives at a group of enemies then throws a Prinny as the final blow. It explodes of course.
- Goggles Do Nothing
- I Can't Believe It's Not Heroin!: Underling's first impression of her is that she must be "high as a kite". Nisa doesn't exactly deny it, quite the opposite.
- Large Ham
- Scarf of Asskicking
- Screaming Warrior
- Swiss Army Weapon: Prinny Gun. It's a gun and a Laser Blade.
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair
5pb./Lyrica[]
Voiced by: nao (Japanese), Julie Ann Taylor (English) |
- Bare Your Midriff
- Lady of Black Magic
- Luminescent Blush: She gets one when she finds IF watching her in one of the scenes.
- Not Good with People: While incredibly confident while singing or on the radio, at any other time she becomes incredibly timid and shy.
- The Power of Rock: Her method of employing magical attacks, and her stats are skewed in favor of this over resorting to beating things to death with her guitar.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni. She is mostly the Red Oni to Cave's Blue Oni. Though in some aspects, notably the extrovert/introvert detail, they are reversed.
- Shy Blue-Haired Girl
- Stage Name: Her real name is Lyrica, though almost no one knows it.
- Stripperific: One of the few cases where this is justified, as she is an Idol Singer, and thus her outfit is supposed to be alluring.
CAVE[]
Voiced by: Mayuko Takahashi (Japanese), Lauren Landa (English) |
- Badass Finger-Snap: Her final move on her Limit Break.
- Big Damn Heroes: Saves Nepgear after she went overconfident that she could take on a monster by herself.
- Bullet Hell: Her Limit Break where enemies are on the receiving end of it.
- Company Allusion: The other characters think that she must deal with Crowd Hell pretty often to be able to move so effortlessly through a crowd without touching anyone.
- Cleavage Window
- Everything's Better with Spinning
- Everything's Worse with Bees: Her 'Black Label' skill sometimes has her summoning a pair of mechanical bees to pelt the enemy some more after her initial barrage. No points for guessing what game this references.
- Game Breaking Bug: None of her equipment from the store is kept in your inventory in a New Game+, meaning you're going to be spending a large amount of credits to keep her geared through each playthrough if you intend to use her. You can get around this annoyance, somewhat, by using her DLC equipment instead.
- Girlish Pigtails
- Large Ham: Somehow her Power Walk, her flinging of her hair, and her Limit Break must be done with such ham for someone who's quiet. Kind of like someone actually.
- Nice Hat
- Optional Party Member: Through DLC.
- Red Headed Heroine
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: She is mostly the Blue Oni to 5pb.'s Red Oni. Though in some aspects, notably the extrovert/introvert detail, they are reversed.
- Showgirl Skirt
- Stuff Blowing Up
Falcom[]
Voiced by: Akemi Kanda (Japanese), Xanthe Huynh (English) |
- Actor Allusion: Her voice actress voiced Estelle Bright, the heroine of another Nihon Falcom's famous franchise.
- Bare Your Midriff
- BFS
- Expy: To Adol of course.
- Game Breaking Bug: None of her equipment from the store is kept in your inventory in a New Game+, meaning you're going to be spending a large amount of credits to keep her geared through each playthrough if you intend to use her. You can get around this annoyance, somewhat, by using her DLC equipment instead.
- Optional Party Member: Through DLC.
- Pen Name: Alod Christin
- Red Headed Heroine
- Sword Beam
Oracles[]
Histoire[]
Voiced by: Mika Kanai (Japanese), Stephanie Sheh (English) |
- Big Good
- Great Big Book of Everything: Unfortunately it'll take three days for her to find the information needed in her, so it's better to just go out and figure things out without her.
- Our Fairies Are Different: She's also a book.
- Nice Hat
- Physical God: Can't do anything without the other Goddesses' consent though.
Mina Nishizawa[]
Voiced by: Sayaka Nakaya (Japanese) |
- Beware the Nice Ones
- Comically Missing the Point: After Ram and Rom are saved from Trick, pretty much the only thing she takes away from the situation is that licking someone can be a sign of affection. Nepgear honestly hopes that she was joking.
- Meganekko
- Nice Hat
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair
Chika Hakozaki[]
Voiced by: Yuka Komatsu (Japanese), Michelle Ann Dunphy (English) |
- Drama Queen: Boy, does she go off for the stupidest reasons. However, during the Conquest Ending, she has a genuine reason to cry and scream.
- Hair Decorations
- Homoerotic Subtext: Seems to be waaaaaaaaaay obsessive with Vert.
- Were it not for her occasional denials this wouldn't even be able to be considered subtext. They share a bed, Vert knows her well enough that she can tell perfectly when she is or isn't pretending to be sick, and apparently Chika is usually more willing to play around during Vert's massages. Chika can also be seen grabbing Vert's chest while looking extremely happy doing so in the True Ending.
- Wingding Eyes: Gets hearts in her eyes whenever Vert is involved.
Kei Jinguji[]
Voiced by: Yuko Sanpei (Japanese) |
Villains[]
Magiquone the Hard / CFW Arfoire[]
Voiced by: Chiaki Takahashi (Japanese) |
- Blade on a Stick
- Invincible Villain: Pretty much what can sum her up.
- Digital Piracy Is Evil: The personification of this.
- Dub Name Change: Magiquone in Japan, which is their equivalent of the R4.
- Eldritch Abomination: In the True Ending she also becomes a Humanoid Abomination.
- Load-Bearing Boss: Due to being one with the Gamindustri Graveyard.
- Omnicidal Maniac
- Playing Against Type: BIG TIME for her seiyuu. Arfoire is devoid of all sympathetic virtues many of her roles, even antagonistic ones, though it's probably intentional.
- Red Baron: Deity of Sin
- Taking You with Me
Magic the Hard / CFW Magic[]
Voiced by: Chiaki Takahashi (Japanese) |
- Came Back Wrong: In the True End, her desire to serve under Arfoire becomes a desire to ensure everything becomes one with her.
- Curb Stomp Battle: Artwork for the sequel shows her facing off against the four Goddesses, alone. The result would seem to be the four of them being captured and bound by Naughty Tentacles.
- The Dragon: She's this to Arfoire in the sequel.
- Evil Counterpart
- Evil Is Sexy
- Evil Redhead
- Eyepatch of Power
- Expy: To the first game's version of Arfoire.
- Fan Boy: The personification of this.
- Most Common Superpower: Not a single one of the heroines surpasses the size of her rack. Not even Thunder Tits.[4]
- One Woman Army: Five goddesses (The four Hearts and Purple Sister) versus her. She curb stomps them.
- Psycho Rangers: If Magic's design is anything to go by, the Arfoire Syndicate of International Crime is this to the heroes.
- Sinister Scythe
- Stripperific
- Thanatos Gambit: She's rightfully confident that she would never lose, but just in case she ensures that her death only speeds up Arfoire's revival.
Judge the Hard / CFW Judge[]
Voiced by: Kenjiro Tsuda (Japanese), Kyle Hebert (English) |
- An Axe to Grind
- The Berserker
- Black Ax Crazy Robot Dies First
- Came Back Wrong: Of the four, he's the only one not to. It helps that he was already completely insane.
- Creator Breakdown / Rage Quit: The personification of this.
- Eye Scream: This is how Nepgear, IF, and Compa escape him the first time they have to fight him.
- The Grim Reaper: As the personification of game creators giving up after poor sales, he's been designed to look the part at the very least.
- Psycho Rangers
Brave the Hard / CFW Brave[]
Voiced by: Kentaro Ito (Japanese), David Vincent (English) |
- Anti-Villain
- Came Back Wrong: In the True Ending, though as far as Arfoire's concerned he came back right as he's reduced to being a Blood Knight who no longer cares for children.
- Evil Makeover: In the True Ending, his color scheme turns red and black.
- Flaming Sword
- Humongous Mecha: Has the appearance of one.
- Like a Badass Out of Hell: In order to ask Noire and Kei's permission to marry Uni. And then they wake up.
- My Death Is Just the Beginning: In the True Ending, he is reprogrammed to attack Uni and Noire. When defeated, he told Uni he will always be by her side, even if he isn't around, and uses his remaining data to create a new assault rifle for Uni.
- Perpetual Poverty: The personification of this. Specifically the resentment of not having the money to keep up with game releases.
- Noble Demon: As the personification of not having enough money to buy new games, Brave fights to protect children's joy, and doesn't want to see their smiles fade. He's like Santa if he were a villainous mecha. No, really.
- Psycho Rangers
- Token Good Teammate
- Worthy Opponent: Sees Uni as this and the feeling is mutual.
Trick the Hard / CFW Trick[]
Voiced by: Yoji Ueda (Japanese), Derek Stephen Prince (English) |
- Affably Evil: If he weren't so amusing and pleasant outside of his obsession, he'd be a Complete Monster.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: He can do this to other people.
- Came Back Wrong: In the True Ending his obsession with children ends up becoming a love for eating them.
- Dirty Old Man
- Fat Bastard
- I Regret Nothing: Because he got to die at the hands of maidens.
- Last-Second Word Swap
I need to whip out my.... Sewing kit! |
- Lolicon: Even Linda has trouble getting along with him because of this.
- One of the main reasons why the second game has a Mature rating is because of him.
- Nintendo Hard: The personification of your reactions to this.
- Overly Long Tongue
- Psycho Rangers
Linda/Underling[]
Voiced by: Junko Minagawa (Japanese) |
- Avenging the Villain: The final fight against her in the True Ending is because she wants revenge for them killing Magic twice, hoping that maybe she can kill them before Arfoire destroys the world.
- Bare Your Midriff
- Even Evil Has Standards: Linda is disgusted by CFW Trick's behaviour towards Rom and Ram.
- Fan Girl: Some of her dialog implies that she's one for Magic.
- Goldfish Poop Gang: So much so that the game eventually stops bothering to make her a boss fight.
- Master of Disguise: Makes a convincing disguise as Chika.
- Not So Different: During the Conquest End, after she has beaten Vert to an inch of her life, the heroines state that what she has done is unforgivable. Underling's counter-statement is saying she just did what they were trying to do a moment ago, and that they should thank her. What she gets for that? A sword to the stomach, that's what!
- Not What I Signed on For: After Magic tells her that everything will be absorbed into Arfoire and tries to kill her, she realizes that Magic has changed and that things are more extreme than she first thought and bails.
- Quirky Miniboss Squad
- Weapon Across the Shoulder
- You Gotta Have Green Hair
Pirachu[]
Voiced by: Neeko (Japanese) |
- Dub Name Change: Was Warechu in Japan.
- Make My Monster Grow: Temporarily ends up completely massive and completely insane.
- Only Sane Man
- Panty Shot: One of his battle quotes is pointing out that from where he's standing he can see everyone's panties.
- Quirky Miniboss Squad
- Ridiculously Cute Critter: He is rather adorable, and his crush on Compa merely adds to it.
- True Companions: Even after Underling's begun to go off the deep end toward the end, and even after ASIC is ended, he tries to be the voice of reason for her and sticks with her even when she just won't listen.
- Verbal Tic: It's chu, chump!
- Villainous Crush: Has a crush on Compa after she heals him.
