LOVEMAGIC is an adult web comic series of sorts created by Tessa Green (Ship in a Bottle) in 2006. It started out at short stories making fun of sex and everything else and then stayed just as inconsistent. In fact, the only consistent thing is the inconsistency.
These comics are very NSFW.
The entire series is comprised of three incarnations listed in order of appearance:
- LOVEMAGIC
- LOVE MAGIC
- Date with a Tentacle Monster AKA Tenta-Date
Tropes used in LOVEMAGIC include:
LOVE MAGIC/LOVEMAGIC[]
- Aborted Arc: Quite a few considering Tea’s updating habits.
- Art Shift and Art Evolution: After experimenting so much, improvement was inevitable.
- Author Avatar: Tracy started out as this.
- Biggus Dickus: The pony-tailed guy is very well endowed.
- Comedic Sociopath: Pretty much everyone.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Refusing to pay for an expensive hooker isn’t usually an offence that warrants the loss of your limbs.
- Drunk Duck: The comic is hosted here.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": B/Bruno. That’s all anyone knows her by.
- Eye Beams and Eyepatch of Power: Rena can shoot lasers from her good eye and at one point shoots an irony beam.
- Eye Scream: Played with at first. Shown fully later.
- Eyes Always Shut: Tracy. No one knows what her eyes look like. No one.
- Funny Background Event: A rather disturbing one during a flashback revealing how Rena lost her eye.
- Karma Houdini: Nearly everyone. ‘’Especially’’ Bruno.
- Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Was in the Adult Wars section of the Crossover Wars
- Naughty Tentacles: Happens to the poor assistant when ever she calls Tracy out on her behavior.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: Tessa Green’s Drunk Duck handle is tea_green. Also doubles as a Punny Name.
- Refuge in Audacity: Most of the humor runs on this.
- Rose-Haired Girl: Rena’s hair is bubblegum pink but she’s not as agreeable as most rose-haired beauties.
- Rule 34
- Schedule Slip: Tea is extremely guilty of starting/restarting comics and disappearing off the face of the planet for ‘’months’’.
- The Nameless: Everyone until the Adult Wars Crossover.
- Verbal Tic: Tracy tends to say ‘Hey, y’know what?’ before most of her sentences.
Date with a Tentacle Monster[]
- Art Evolution: Tenta-Date features more detailed and steadily improving art.
- Fetish Fuel: In-universe. Amy is very interested in Power Rangers
- Naughty Tentacles: The series is built on this.
- Portmanteau Series Nickname: Shortened to Tenta-Date.
- Shout-Out: In the first chapter, Amy wears a uniform similar to the ones worn at Sakakino Academy.
- In the third chapter, Amy wears a shirt featuring a power star.
- Spin-Off: The comic focuses on Tracy’s assistant and the tentacle monster she got very friendly with.
- Theme Naming: Every chapter has ‘Tentacle’ in the title.
