- In Island, Goemon sheds Manly Tears when he finally gets Japanese food after two weeks of eating nothing but beans. Amusing in and of itself, but it sets up something funnier when he and his friends are later faced with a classic Red or Blue Wire Dilemma:
Jigen: Okay, now how the hell did you know it was red? |
- The Shin Lupin III episode "ZenigataCon": Lupin impersonating Zenigata? Amusing. Lupin's entire gang impersonating Zenigata? Priceless.
- In the same episode, when Fujiko is heading to Marcel's room to investigate him, Lupin glances nervously around the hallway before following her inside.
- An early manga chapter features Jigen riding in a car with a mob boss and his driver. The following exchange occurs:
Driver: Hey boss, do you have a detachable steering wheel? |
- In Episode 87 of Part 2, after Lupin was hypnotised into stealing the Dragon Tear, he trips over a rock and breaks out of the hypnosis, but collapses from exhaustion. Moments later, the gang finds him lying asleep in the middle of the road. They still believe him to be possessed, so Goemon wakes him unceremoniously by kneeing him in the behind.
- In Episode 126 of Part 2, Jigen thinks Lupin was crushed to death by a giant cue ball. He laments: "He was a ladykiller, spineless, irritating, but to die like this...". Then Lupin throws a piece of rubble at him from a giant corner pocket and replies "Who's a spineless irritating ladykiller?!"
- In a manga chapter that parodies Mission Impossible, Lupin listens to a recording. The tape announces that it will self-destruct... in three seconds. Cue Lupin running for the door in a panic. The tape explodes, destroying the cabin and leaving Lupin with torn clothes and an Ash Face.
- In a chapter where Lupin has to steal diamond teeth, he ties up Fujiko and leaves her to be arrested, declaring that prison will improve her sense of loyalty. Fujiko yells "LUPIN'S HERE!" and Zenigata comes zooming in.
- In Part 2 Episode 5, the gang are holding onto a branch protruding from a cliff. Jigen asks Lupin how they're going to get off the branch. Lupin sheepishly admits that he hasn't thought that far ahead.
- In Part 2 Episode 78, Lupin is woken by the telephone, but he's so tired he can barely move. In an exhausted voice he asks the caller if they'd like to put Jigen on the phone, then suddenly screams, "HEY, JIGEN! PHONE!"
- In Part 2 Episode 9, while Jigen is looking after who he thinks is a dying art dealer, the man snatches his scotch and drinks the whole thing.
- In Part 2 Episode 152, Jigen is trying to see if he can shoot while wearing different hats. Fujiko arrives and when she sees him wearing a Robin Hood style hat, she starts laughing. Poor Jigen blushes and ducks behind Lupin.
- In Part 3 Episode 34, Lupin and Jigen call Goemon to help them with the mob and get him to carry two large sacks of fruit. In his usual laconic style, he dumps them on Lupin and says, "I'm tired. Bye."
- In one chapter, Lupin tries to hint to his partners that he's turned into a vampire. Jigen and Goemon are exhausted and can't listen, so Lupin yells at them with a megaphone... only for Goemon to slice it in half.
- Fujiko's Jaw Drop in Part 2 Episode 113 when the ghost materializes before the gang.
- In Part 2 Episode 113, when the plane is out of fuel, Fujiko helpfully points out a gas station. Lupin retorts, "This isn't a car!"
- In Part 2 Episode 6, nobody can get the radio to work after Jigen set up a wire tap. Goemon merely pounds the radio with his sheathed sword and the radio works.
- In Part 3 Episode 29, Zenigata tries to get into the fortress. The security system asks him to go away so Pops tries "Open sesame" before going through other vegetables.
- Zenigata: Open, carrot.
- Door: Please go away.
- Zenigata: Open, tomato. Open, green pepper! Open, potato! Open, burdock!
- Door: Please go away.
- Zenigata: Radish! Cabbage! Celery! Sweet potato!
- In Part 2 Episode 121, Zenigata is wrestling with a large snake. Jigen decides to help him and plays the flute that charms it.
- Zenigata: That's the wrong end!
- Jigen: My bad.
