Burger-Beard with a magic book

Burger Beard achieving what Plankton never could, with ease!

Breaking news, citizens of Bikini Bottom! These Diabolical Masterminds are cooking up daring schemes with their devilishly brilliant brains. If seen, please contact SpongeBob SquarePants in the hopes we can tie up their plots!

Original Show[]

  • The blue Jellyfish known simply as "No Name" in "Jellyfish Hunter" is an elusive trickster who routinely outwits and evades SpongeBob's master Jellyfish hunting skills, functioning as the sole Jellyfish the hunter has never caught. When Mr. Krabs begins capturing and abusing Jellyfish for their jelly, No Name stalks, harasses, and terrorizes SpongeBob before kidnapping him and revealing Krabs' evil. No Name proceeds to work with his former enemy to take down Krabs before willingly allowing himself to be captured and named by SpongeBob, who chooses the appropriate "Friend".
  • "Master" Udon in the episode "Karate Island" ostensibly offers to crown SpongeBob "King of Karate" as a ploy to rope him into his real estate scheme. Luring SpongeBob to the fabricated Karate Island, Udon plays to his pride as a martial artist even as Sandy casts doubt upon his words. When she attempts to free SpongeBob from signing Udon's contract, he deploys a series of his minions against her, traps her in a cage and engages her in a karate match himself when she breaks free, before recovering from seeming defeat to scam Squidward as his next mark with the allure of being named "King of Clarinets".
  • In "The Curse of the Hex", Madame Hagfish is a polite, apparently harmless old lady who "curses" the Krusty Krab after being subjected to harsh treatment by Mr. Krabs. Though Krabs at first shrugs off the curse, the Krusty Krab begins falling apart as no customers show up, leading Krabs and SpongeBob being forced to beg Hagfish for mercy to reverse the curse. After manipulating the duo into braving the terror of a giant Golden Eel to acquire her dry cleaning money, Hagfish reveals the truth that her curse amounted to nothing but a cleverly-placed "Closed" sign before merrily wishing Krabs and SpongeBob a good day.
  • In "Goodbye Krabby Patty?", Don Grouper is a silver-tongued executive for the advertising company GGK, who quickly concocts a brilliant merchandising and advertisement campaign for frozen Krabby Patties that make them an overnight hit. Raking in uncountable amounts of cash while using filler to cheapen the cost of mass-producing the Patties, Grouper has dissenting voices to the Patties silenced while turning the moronic Patrick Star into a beloved celebrity. Even when Patrick and SpongeBob work together to expose Grouper's cheaply-made Patties, Grouper just casually walks away from the scene with zero comeuppance, having made GGK an immense fortune in an extremely short time frame.
  • In "Krusty Bucket", PlanKrab is Plankton's creation made of his own and Mr. Krabs' DNA. Created to steal the Krabby Patty formula for his master, PlanKrab instead uses his persuasive handshakes to take over both the Krusty Krab and Chum Bucket, becoming a beloved boss to SpongeBob and Squidward and insanely successful restauranteur while the threat he poses forces Plankton and Krabs to team up against him. Outwitting the two at every turn, it's only by witnessing the two fighting happening to trigger a split in his DNA that PlanKrab is finally beaten and even as the two halves melt by shaking hands they smile in bliss at its soothing power.

Spin-Offs[]

  • Kamp Koral: In "Sugar Squeeze", Narlene Narwhal is a friendly country bumpkin who works with her little brother Nobby to steal the candy of Kamp Koral's campers in order to make it into her addictive "Sugar Squeeze" drink. Abducting SpongeBob and the other campers to have them try out Sugar Squeeze, Narlene becomes revered as it sends them into a sugar craze. When the hyperactive kids disturb Mr. Krabs, Narlene disguises herself with a moustache and offers to remove the Sugar Squeeze with her "Thunder Squeeze" contraption, taking the campers' clothes and belongings for her family as payment. After the Thunder Squeeze extracts the Sugar Squeeze right back into the jar it came from, Narlene leaves full-handed, wowing SpongeBob and Patrick one last time by making fireworks out of Sugar Squeeze.

  • The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: Sponge Out of Water: Burger Beard is a swashbuckling pirate with dreams of converting his ship into his very own food truck. Traveling the Seven Seas with his crew of seagulls, Burger Beard tracks down a magical book that allows anyone who writes within it to change reality to their will. Using the book to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula, he causes Bikini Bottom to descend into anarchy while he makes a profit selling Krabby Patties on the beach; all without anyone being the wiser. Once SpongeBob and his friends track him down, Burger Beard uses the book to banish them to Pelican Island while he continues running his restaurant in peace. When SpongeBob returns after turning his friends into superheroes, Burger Beard uses his own guile to keep the heroes on their toes and eventually defeat them one-by-one. Although he's eventually taken down by Plankton, Burger Beard remains humble in defeat and indulges in his crew's request to sing the SpongeBob theme song.

Video Games[]

  • Lights, Camera, Pants!: The Sneaky Hermit can be "played" by one of six different characters, but is consistently portrayed as an entertainingly maniacal supervillain determined to steal and place all of Bikini Bottom onto their back. Kicking off their spree by swiping a variety of buildings across the city and framing Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy for it, the Sneaky Hermit also keeps lookouts and disguised minions across Bikini Bottom to alert them to potential threats. When approached by Man-Ray and Dirty Bubble for a team-up, the Sneaky Hermit kidnaps the mayor's son for the two to use as a hostage, then proceeds to betray and swipe the villains' lairs while they are distracted with the hostage. Capable of fighting off the heroes and villains at the same time even when they allied, the Sneaky Hermit is only beaten due to a random allergy, and faces defeat with a hilarious line no matter the character playing them.
  • SpongeBob's Boating Bash: Seymour Scales poses as a boating instructor as a scam for quick cash, easily tricking SpongeBob into signing up for his fake "D.R.I.V.E." course. With his natural charisma, Seymour keeps his students entertained and lures much of Bikini Bottom and all of SpongeBob's friends into his con until Mrs. Puff becomes wary of his activities. Even when she manages to out his trickery, Seymour makes for his personal boatmobile to escape, loading it up with debris to hoist at SpongeBob when he pursues—even maintaining his amicable tone during the chase—and accepts his arrest with only minor annoyance before being taken to prison.
