The Marvel First Alliance series is a series of Beat Em' Up games developed by ZVitor that crossover many aspects of the Marvel universe, and feature many playable characters and levels in the style of the SNES Capcom Marvel games. The third game was retitled Marvel Infinity War due to the whole new storyline added.

These Games Have Examples of[]

  • A Day At the Bizarro: The hidden "Deadpool's Crazy F-ing World".
  • Adaptational Villainy: Infinity War's Maximum Carange mode has Morbius as a Bonus Boss as opposed to an Assist Character like he was in the original game. Also notable is Diamondback solely being a boss.
  • Adapted Out: Despite his appearance in the original, Captain America cannot be used in the "Maximum Carnage" mode. In addition, several bosses don't crop up in remake modes and are replaced with others. Infinity War rectifies Captain America's absense and adds him in. And it even throws in Firestar and Deathlok as exclusive helpers. Notable amongst absent bosses is Juggernaut in "Captain America and the Avengers", despite him appearing as a boss in "Mutant Apocalypse".
  • An Ice Person: Iceman.
  • All Webbed Up: Those who are hit with Spider Man's QCF special move and limit break end up as this.
  • Annoying Arrows: Averted. Hawkeye can land enemies arrows in their bodies if he finishes them off.
  • Ascended Extra: Iron Fist was an assist in the first and became playable in the second, same with She-Hulk, Wasp, Guardian, and Iceman. Infinity War ascends Apocalypse (cameo), Mystique (mini-boss), Luke Cage (radio assist), Dr. Strange (marvel logo assist), Scarlet Witch (marvel logo assist), Silver Surfer (marvel logo assist), and Loki (Bonus Boss and marvel logo assist) to playability. The next version will do the same to Sentry and BlackBolt. Ant-Man will be a subversion, as the playable counterpart is Scott Lang, while Henry Pym remains an NPC.
  • Assist Character: Two types. The radio-summoned ones will appear to fight alongside you, while the Marvel logo ones just clear the screen with an attack. Nick Fury, when using his pistol, can call in SHIELD troopers using his Limit Break. Some levels have unique assist partners.
  • Attack Drone: Mr. Fantastic uses them.
  • Attack Reflector: Guardian can reflect bullets, though he'll normally just deflect them.
  • Baleful Polymorph: When Scarlet Witch is used as a sweeper, she will turn enemies into crates.
  • Barrier Warrior: Invisible Woman can easily create blockades for enemies, while Dr. Doom's Limit Break has him activate an electric shield that damages enemies. Magneto can move while blocking.
  • The Beastmaster: Squirrel Girl
  • Bonus Boss: One odd case is Nimrod, triggered by breaking his case open. Also, more show up in side stories and remake modes.
  • Boss Rush: Near the end of the second, several prior bosses fight you at once. There are also a number of rematches around the same time. There is a straight boss rush mode in Infinity War.
  • Bouncing Battler: Beast and Iron Fist.
  • Bullet Catch: Magneto. He can then fire them at enemies
  • Can't Catch Up: Guardian, Punisher, Ghost Rider, Dr. Doom, and Red Hulk were forces to be reckoned with in MFA2, but due to nearly everyone else getting new moves in Infinity War, they were passed by. Nick Fury had it the worst, though, having lost his big ace in the hole of unlimited agents in addition to having others pass him by in therms of their move pools. Shocker was fairly pathetic in both instances, though. He dropped from merely mediocre to the worst character in the game.
  • Ceiling Cling: Spider-Man, even without a real ceiling.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Odin is the only character to have totally vanished between 2 and Infinity War.
  • Combos: One can skip to the end of their combo with Up, Up, attack. Lengthy juggles are possible with use of this command, dash attacks, and special moves. A revised version of Infinity War made the powe gauge longer and decreased the cost of characters' Limit Break moves, meaning that they too could be placed in the combos. However, enemies will eventually drop out from juggles, preventing corner trapping.
  • Combat Tentacles: Omega Red and Carnage.
  • Cores and Turrets Boss: A boss in the Savage Land is a control tower that calls Sentinel after Sentinel.
  • Counter Attack: X-23's Limit Break
  • Death Dealer: Gambit
  • Death From Above: Vulture
  • Doppelganger Attack: Emma Frost and Loki
  • Embedded Precursor: The second game has X-Men: Mutant Apocalapse, Spider Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage, and Captain America and the Avengers remakes hidden after beating the game. Infinity War throws in War of the Gems as well.
  • Enemy Mine: Dr. Doom and Magneto decide to join you to take down HYDRA. Even Red Skull gets in on the action when we go to space! In Infinity War, there's a whole team of villains. Notably, Thanos joins near the end of the game.
  • Eye Beams: Cyclops.
  • Feather Flechettes: Archangel
  • Fighting with Chucks: Daredevil and Moon Knight
  • Fire, Ice, Lightning: Doctor Strange does this when he is called in as an assist sweeper in MFA2, but completely loses this ability as playable in Infinity War. Hawkeye also has arrows corresponding to each.
  • Flight: Several heroes can do this by pressing block in mid-air.
    • Not Quite Flight: A lot of others can do something else: Spider-Man clings on his web, Iceman makes an ice board to ride on (which can damage enemies)...
  • Fragile Speedster: Black Cat, Elektra, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Archangel, Psylocke, Black Widow, Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Daredevil, and Wasp.
  • Goomba Stomp: The Hulk can stomp enemies with a basic jump. Beast is also able to do this as a special Attack, where he bounces across enemies.
  • Ground Pound: Hulk, Red Hulk, and Beast have this as an air attack, and Vision has this as his Limit Break, which doubles as a Shockwave Stomp that turns him invisible.
  • Healing Factor: Hulk, Wolverine, Deadpool, and X-23. In addition, Groot and Jean Grey can both regenerate if they have full MP upon defeat.
  • Home Run Hitter: Juggernaut.
  • Hurricane Kick: In addition to Spidey's as mentioned below, Iron Fist has a spinning handstand kick. Meanwhile She-Hulk has a hurricane punch.
  • Kill Sat: Mr. Fantastic's Limit Break has him call in one to beam the ground, locking onto a foe and incinerating all in its path.
  • Kung Shui: Many levels have breakable objects. Some contain prizes.
  • Launcher Move
  • Limit Break: Every character has one available by pressing the Special button when the meter is full.
  • Loads and Loads of Characters: The first game had 30 playable characters not counting the SHIELD agents in one mode, but the second tops that with 54 playable characters including all 30 from the first game (except the SHIELD agents), plus 36 bosses in Story Mode, 40 NPC helpers (28 summoned by radio, 7(8 if you separate Cloak and Dagger) summoned by Marvel logo to sweep the screen with a strong attack, and 4 minor, level-exclusive partners (5 if one adds in the generic Savage Land natives)), and a few bosses exclusive to the remake modes, not to mention dozens of enemy types. The third will add several more playable characters, bringing the roster up to 74. Some were promoted from assists and/or bosses. To replace them, yet more assists were added, but the total number of marvel icon assists was reduced to 5 (6 counting Cloak and Dagger separately), one for each team, with Mephisto and Moondragon joining Namor, Professor X, and Cloak and Dagger, with Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Silver Surfer, and Loki having ascended to playability. The update will boost us to 80 playable characters plus one secret character. This in addition to 9 level-specific assistants (again, 10 counting the Savage Land natives), 43 radio assists, and 55 bosses, not to mention 7 cameos and all the standard goon types. [Wanna taste?] (and that doesn't include boss and cameo characters)
  • Man On Fire: With sprites taken from Street Fighter II
  • Mecha-Mooks: Sentinels, and in a bonus chapter, Doombots as well. HYDRA also have a few robot goons.
  • Meteor Move:Wolverine's Limit Break with his claws out. She-Hulk's as well.
  • Mighty Glacier: Hulk, Red Hulk, The Thing, Juggernaut, Colossus, Dr. Doom, Hulkbuster Iron Man, Groot, Drax, and Stryfe. Among bosses, there's The Leader, the Kingpin, and Thanos. In particular, Juggernaut pretty much cannot jump, but can hurt enemies simply by running into them. (The Thing also does this)
  • The Minion Master: Nick Fury
  • More Dakka: Nick Fury calls in a gunship to sweep the screen with Dakka. War Machine's War Destroyer involves a lot of Dakka too, as does his D, F, special with a full power bar. There's also a Dakka-loaded Nazi robot mook.
  • Power-Up Letdown: The Punisher's radio call sends in Microchip, who first runs over all opposition in his van, before handing the Punisher a machine gun. Too bad he can't jump or block anymore, and his only attack is via this machine gun. The Hulkbuster armor was decent enough in MFA2, but by Infinity War, it has become one thanks to its comparatively limited movepool compounding into its existing dis-advantages.
  • Promoted to Playable: The freakin' Red Skull decides to help the heroes find the Cosmic Cube near the end of the second game and becomes a playable character (bringing Crossbones as an assist). He was previously available as DLC for the first game. Characters like Shocker were made available a few levels after defeating them, near the climax.
    • Infinity War simply all characters playable from the start. The exception being Thanos, who is unlocked at the end.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: Quicksilver. He even blocks with these!
  • Raptor Attack: In the Savage Land, some appear.
  • Rolling Attack: Beast. The Puck helper and enemy also does this.
  • Roundhouse Kick: Mystique
  • Stance System: Nick Fury can switch between using his fists and using a gun using his QCF special move. Ghost Rider calls in his bike for his Limit Break, Wolverine can sheathe his claws, and Iron Man can find his Hulkbuster armor. In addition, Jean Grey can go Phoenix.
  • Shotoclone: Spidey takes up this role. His Kamehame Hadoken is performed using the original motion to trap foes, his dashing attack is basically a Shoryuken, and the last hit of his combo is tantamount to a Hurricane Kick. As of Infinity War, his hadoken is performed with a single button, while his Shoryuken can be followed with an extra attack, analogous to the Shoryureppa.
  • Smart Bomb: The Marvel logo helpers do this. In addition, this is Human Torch's Limit Break
  • Spin Attack: Quicksilver, Elektra, Venom, and Mystique.
  • Stone Wall: Sister Grimm and Groot.
  • Super Mode: Phoenix and Hulkbuster.
  • Teleport Spam: Nightcrawler, and to a lesser extent, Sister Grimm and Loki.
  • Trap Master: Human Torch and Ghost Rider rely on setting up fires to scorch foes. Rocket Raccoon takes this much further, with several such trap moves, including a turret!
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex: In the Savage Land.
  • Unexpected Shmup Level: Several.
  • Unique Enemy: Only two Experiments appear in the whole game, in the Savage Land. The Savage Land also has one tyrannosaurus, and the velociraptors and triceratopses are exclusive as well. The girls with long hair only appear in the Maximum Carnage mode. Frost Giants, along with Loki's other forces, are only in the "For Asgard!" bonus chapter (which later was retooled as a story chapter). Symbiotes are only enemies in the second half of the prison stage, but return in the Maximum Carnage mode. And recolored versions into Agony and Lasher come in one each in both such modes. You only run afoul of Doppelganger twice in the Maximum Carnage mode. The last level (not counting the Boss-Only Level of Thanos) has golem enemies exclusive to it. The Acolytes and Doombots are only enemies in Mutant Apocalypse and War of the Gems (and in the latter's case, a former side-story mode that was cut from Infinity War), and are otherwise assists for Magneto and Dr. Doom, respectively.
  • X-Ray Sparks: Taken from Streets of Rage 2.
