Anticlimax Boss: Even by the game's standards, the Wily Machine is embarrassingly easy to defeat. The fact that all of its forms are weak to the Silver Tomahawk does not help matters any.
Badass Decay: A downplayed example: Beat won't target bosses anymore, but he's still brutally effective against enemies.
Contested Sequel: 6 actually played around quite a bit with the series' formula by introducing Rush's adaptor forms as well as having fun with alternate paths in a few stages for players to explore, which puts it above 5 in some people's eyes. However, the ridiculous easiness turned off those who like more difficult Mega Man experiences.
Scrappy Weapon: The Plant Barriers are considered the worst shield weapon of all the games. They take the Skull Barriers' problems of bad offense and fragility and doubles the weapon's energy consumption, burning their ammunition in seven uses. Some projectiles even punch through them! Fortunately, Mega Man Maker managed to buff the Plant Barriers by having them absorb projectiles that touch them, converting the damage that would have been dealt into energy that the Blue Bomber can use to restore his health. Beat himself is another example, having lost his ability to target bosses, and attacking enemies damages him too, with each hit point on the foe's health bar dealing one point of damage to him; drop him to 0 hit points, and you'll have to say adieu to Beat.
So Bad It's Good: Dr. Wily's Mr. X disguise is so painfully transparent that instead of being groanworthy to some fans, it loops back around to being hilarious and even clever due to the sheer laziness of it.
The Scrappy: Plant Man got a lot of flack due to his design being one of the worst, his attack pattern being pathetic, his level being extremely hard, and his weapon being not good. He did get a redemption to his reception in the Archie Comics adaptation, which made him integral in one of the later arcs with part of his body being made from actual plants leading to his ability to resist the Ra Moon's curse.
