One does not care to acknowledge one's mistakes of youth.
Mistakes of Youth is a webcomic started in 2006, revolving around the adventures of Rets, a "borderline hikikomori" otaku with a penchant for lolicon, Tina, a yaoi/shotacon fan who is inexplicably Rets' best friend, Brad, the shopclerk who is constantly irritated by Rets, and Rets' Japanese internet friend Go.
The title is a relatively famous line (quoted twice in Otaku no Video) from Char Aznable of Mobile Suit Gundam.
- Ahoge: On Tina. And Rets, on occasion.
- Animesque
- Anime Hair: All of the characters. Most notably Rets.
- Archive Binge: This Troper in particular. I read the entire 140+ series in one night.
- With less than 200 strips at this point is incredibly easy read all the series in some hours.
- Art Evolution: Very subtle, but the characters have gradually become prettier.
- Art Shift: Usually for comedic effect.
- Big Ol' Eyebrows: Rets.
- Bishie Sparkle: Issue 8
- Blank White Eyes: Used often. Ties with its Animesque.
- Con Recap: Several instances.
- Dull Eyes of Unhappiness
- Fetish: Rets' obsession with Lolicon.
- GIS Syndrome: For anime posters and box/manga covers. Often also for televisions.
- The Rant: Would be better used to explain the above comic's often obscure joke.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: On Tina. The warning is duly appreciated.

- Take That: Often implemented. Especially at Hideki Anno's expense.
- There's also an especially nasty (though very funny) one against Bee Train, which the author seems to dislike for mediocre production values and perceived repetitiveness of theme.
