  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

Monsterful is a Slice of Life webcomic created by Pablo T. Fiorentino (Artist and Writer) and Mariale Fiorentino (Co-Writer). It stars Sapphire, a zombie girl, and her friends and family. The setting is a world where only monsters live, so there's no need for them to hide or blend in like in almost all monster stories.

The Chapters usually focus on an specific group of characters, most chapters focus on Sapphire and her friends, but other chapters have shifted the attention on other characters and their friends, mostly Sapphire's siblings Onyx, Ruby and Topaz. One chapter has focused on Michelle Flammel as well.

Unusually enough, there seem to be no issues for Zombies, Ragdolls, Vampires and who-knows-what-else to interbreed.

This webcomic provides examples of:

  • Amazing Technicolor Population: This applies to all of characters and extras, we have blue, gray, green, pure white, many natural shades, textured skin and many more.
  • Aloof Big Brother: Onyx
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Ruby
  • Art Evolution: The overall art has shown improvement in both it's gray-scale and colored versions, including lineart, coloring, shading, texturing, lettering and though not as widely used, in backgrounds as well.
  • Arm Cannon: Michelle when she fuses Ourox gains the "Oux Cannon" which is able to fire concentrated "moe energy", the cannon has been shown to be able to upgrade itself, 2 versions have been shown so far, 4k and 5k.
  • Badass Adorable: Ruby, specially when she transforms into the VSV (vampiric spartan viking).
  • Bare Your Midriff: Topaz does a nice job wearing her pajamas on this page, plus two of her friends a Spider-lady and a Mermaid do the same.
    • Lily Osiris when she's possesed by Lawrence on this one.
    • There's even a male example with Nick Claus.
  • Beach Episode: Features a page of the Sexy Topaz with a sexier mermaid friend at the beach here.
    • Plus a beach episode has been announced for later.
  • Blush Sticker: Michelle Flammel is an exaggerated example, she has a permanent blush as one of her trademark features, this blush may even be combined with a different blush to create a Double-Blush when she's actually feeling shy or nervous.
  • Bodyguard Babes: Nick Claus has an entire humanoid reindeer team (it even includes a red-nose Loli by the name of Rudelph), they serve as both reindeer and also double as Nick bodyguards.
  • Chick Magnet: James, the student council president.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Lawrence
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Sapphire
  • Cross-Popping Veins: Used mostly by characters that get angry pretty easily, like Lily or Josh.
  • Cute Kids And Robots: Michelle and Ourox.
  • Cute Monster Girl: Every single female (and possibly every male), even extras are included.** It's a Justified Trope though, they live in a monster-only world.
  • Cyborg: Michelle when she fueses with Ourox to become the PHC (Psychotic Homunculus Cyborg).
  • Do-Anything Robot: Ourox, Michelle's golem Bodyguard, he's a machine capable of shifting into almost anything and generating any kind of weapons, he even as the ability to fuse himself with Michelle for ultimate protection.
    • He can even fuse entirely with Michelle to transform her into a Cyborg.
  • Double Entendre: has some from time to time, but this one deserves a special mention.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Jacob.
  • Enfant Terrible: Ruby, she's plain open evil, specially with her mother Diamond.
  • Expressive Hair: Lawrence Spectrum flame hair is very expressive and often shows emoticons related to his emotions, including exciment or disappointment.
    • Samantha's also uses her hair to enhance multiple expressions like doubt.
    • Sapphire's hair shows this in a lesser degree.
  • Fantasy Kitchen Sink
  • Fictional Holiday: we have the "Monster unity day" instead of Halloween, a day where peace and unity of all monsters is celebrated by dressing as other monster species.
  • Genki Girl: Sapphire
  • Gorgeous Gorgon: Aurielle Goldenscale, she's a sexy blond (her snakes have yellow scales) gorgon teacher, and even though she's really gorgeous she's also a big mean teacher, she will petrify any student that doesn't follow her rules either partially or entirely.
  • Gratuitous French: Aimee Mouffette, she does this quite nicely.
  • Groin Attack: Lily has smashed Lawrence a couple of times.
  • Hot for Student: Aurielle Goldenscale.
  • Idiot Hero: Sapphire
  • Jerkass: Lily
  • Mad Scientist: Lionel Flammel, though he's not evil at all he seems to get really excited with his ideas, often making him commit terrible mistakes such as letting a huge Chimera free. His array of mad science include making the perfect pet to making crime-fighting robot girls and who knows what else.
  • Mad Scientist's Beautiful Daughter: Michelle Flammel, her father Lionel Flammel is a handsome Mad Scientist/alchemist/magician known for his mad creations. Michelle loves her father dearly but she also thinks that he can be very stupid at times.
  • Magic Hair: Lawrence and his father Christopher Spectrum, both ghosts that possess a "flame-like" hairstyle that acts as an expansion of themselves. Christopher takes the power even further by being capable of generating entire illusions and manifestations with his flame.
    • Samantha Thing is another example of this, her hybrid Monster species (half futakuchi-onna) gives her everlasting long hair and the ability to freely manipulate it.
  • Mismatched Eyes: Topaz, she has a two shades of the actual gemstone her name refers to, her left eye is light yellow and her right one is sky blue.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: Every single character from the Ask a ZNP strips falls into this category, you get from the main ZNP (zombie ninja pirate) to a VSV (Vampiric Spartan Viking), PGS (Perverted Ghost Samurai), PHC (Psychotic Homunculus cyborg) and the list goes on.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: We get to see two celebrity posters, a parody of Lady Gaga as a vampire named Lady BatBat, and a possible parody of Shakira as a werewolf named Wolfira.
  • Les Yay: Topaz shows signs of this, specially with her best friend Samantha as seen on this page for example.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Jacob, and oh boy! Do his fangirls love that.
  • Losing Your Head: Sapphire, which is quite normal given the fact that she's a zombie, her head can be reattached easily too.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: Michelle loves Jacob really bad, And she hates Sapphire due to Jacob being in love with her, Michelle REALLY hates her.
    • She gives a perfect example of this in this ZNP strip
  • Playing with Fire: Ruby
  • Rapunzel Hair: Both Michelle Flammel and Samantha Thing, Sammy's hair is actually longer, it almost touches the floor and also overlaps most of her body and face.
    • Justified with Samantha considering her monster species (Ittboo) are beings with permanent long hair, and since her mother is a Futakuchi-Onna she's also able to control her hair at will.
      • YMMV: The name of Samantha's species and her hairstyle are most likely inspired by Cousin Itt from The Addams Family.
    • Jacob may count, based on a recent incentive. His hair at least reaches his shins.
  • Reptiles Are Abhorrent: Josh, the hall monitor
  • Romantic Two-Girl Friendship: Topaz and Samantha have shades of this.
  • Seashell Bra: The Mermaids stick to this trope as well, featuring Starfish and Shellfish bras.
  • Sexy Santa Dress: We get a perfect example with Santa's reindeer team (non-furry humanoid reindeers), we even have Rudelph.
    • Nick himself falls into this category has a rare male example.
    • The cold they may feel is justified since they all have tremendous magical abilities
  • Smelly Skunk: Aimee Mouffette is an Inverted version of the trope. She's a werewolf that had her inner Wolf exchanged with a Skunk, instead of a bad smell she produces a delicious floral scent.
    • Her last name also means Skunk in French.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Jacob to Sapphire (for the first chapter only); Michelle to Jacob
  • Tin Can Robot: Ourox, Michelle's golem bodyguard. This golem robot looks a huge walking boiler.
  • Theme Naming: The Gem Family
    • Diamond
    • Topaz
    • Sapphire
    • Ruby
    • Pearl
    • Onyx
  • Too Dumb to Live: Sapphire, she has so many "special" moments that it's just easier to read the comic than making a page for it.
  • White-Haired Pretty Boy: Lawrence Spectrum and Nick Claus.
