These are recommendations made by Tropers for No More Heroes fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here.

General Fics

Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

Hustle by t3h maniac

• Recommended by Spiny Spades
• Synopsis: A take on each assassin and how they were pulled into Sylvia's scam to make millions.
• Comments: A believable, realistic outlook on the game's plot and the characters. Almost seems Canon.
  • The grammar could use some work, though.

No More Heroes: Hero vs Savior by Okoa

• Recommended by Spiny Spades
• Synopsis: Takes place after the events of No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle. The UAA shuts down after Travis makes it to number one once more, but new corporations start to surface as a result of Pizza Batt's fall. As such, corporations start to pit freelance assassins against each other in order to take out their competition. Hilarity ensues.
• Comments: It pokes great fun at America's bad economy, and it manages to retain all of the same aspects as the game. Travis and the other characters are IC, and it breaks the Fourth Wall just as good as the game does, only in fanfiction form.

Protest The Hero by XxXChiharu-Chan-1000-SpringsXx

• Recommended by Spiny Spades
• Synopsis: Vivica Slamdunk finds herself in the UAA on accident, and she has to learn how to cope with being an assassin while meeting many other cheeky psychopaths on the way.
• Comments: Easily one of the best OC stories in the fandom. The characters do not hesitate to Break the Fourth Wall. It's encouraged by the third chapter, and by the end of the fourth chapter there is No Fourth Wall. All of the assassins have an Impossibly Cool Weapon. One should try to avoid the main character at all costs... Avoid her nice, understanding, loving, friendly, caring and fun British assassin friend too.

Charlotta: Have you seen the ghost of John? Long white bones and all the rest all gone? Oooh! Ooh! Wouldn't it be chilly with no skin on?

Philistine by Neon Paranoia

• Recommended by Spiny Spades
• Synopsis: A backstory on Margeret and how she became an assassin in the UAA, following up to her last Ranking Match.
• Comments: Completely believable, it sets a nice background for Margaret's character which the game failed to do. Not only does it flesh Margaret out, it puts a bit of characterisation in Bad Girl, Helter Skelter, and Alice. Maybe they are not so bad after all. Can be a sort of a Tear Jerker, though Your Mileage May Vary.

Shipping Fics

Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.

I'm An Otaku And Proud Of It! by Roxius

• Recommended by Spiny Spades
• Pairings: Travis/Shinobu
• Synopsis: Shinobu has had enough of Travis' "collections".
• Comments: One of the better Travis/Shinobu fics in the fandom. Even if you don't ship it, you can still enjoy how in character everyone is.

Knowing You is the Kiss of Death by Bobo Peterson

• Recommended by Berserker88
• Pairings: Travis/Sylvia, Henry/Shinobu
• Synopsis: A collection of oneshots starring various No More Heroes pairings.
• Comments: A very realisitc take on the characters and their realtionships. There is a lot of detail and it all serves to flesh them out more.
