I CAN'T GET PAST THE FIRST LEVEL I NEED A HINT

Cquote1

Random cheater: You are well done!!!!! / How to do a website and a game?

David Munnich: Yeah, my mom did a great job! / Google maybe?

Cquote2

NotPron, Exactly What It Says on the Tin, was created by David Munnich. It is a bewildering "riddle", the only goal being to get to the next level. Currently there are 139 of these levels.

Most levels consist of a black page with a single photograph, with the level number in the upper left corner. Solving a level often requires you to look at the source code of the page, analyze the photograph in graphics programs, search the internet for clues and information... in short, this game teaches you a lot.

Cheating/walkthroughs became so rampant that, halfway through the riddle, the creator requires a one-euro "tax" be paid in order to continue playing.

This game is an example of:[]

  • Bribing Your Way to Victory - As mentioned above
  • Disappointing Last Level - A variation. The levels in the beginning of the game are accompanied by fairly professional-looking dark, mysterious photos. The atmosphere is like you're walking through a pitch black house, with only a flashlight, unraveling a cryptic trail of clues. However, around level 22, the creepy atmosphere basically goes away and you feel like you're just some guy surfing the web, solving puzzles because you're bored. However, the quality of the actual riddles is consistent.
  • Fan Service - Level 39, and a bunch of other bonuses hidden throughout the game.
  • Mind Screw - Just when you think you understand...
  • Nightmare Fuel - The background "music"
  • Ontological Mystery
