Project Daisychain

Located here. Project Daisychain was a multifandom RP based on the premise of Cloverfield. It ran from February 2008 to October 2009, when the plot of the game came to an end.

Tagruato Corporation, creators of such delicious beverages as Slusho, awoke an ancient monster from beneath the sea. After the events of the Cloverfield film, the people who didn't manage to make it out of Manhattan found themselves trapped. All roads off the island were destroyed. Worse, people suddenly started appearing in the city, people from all sorts of places, times, and universes. Their only hope of survival was to band together and discover the truth behind their imprisonment, the giant monster which rampaged through the city, and the labrador-sized crab monsters that inflicted a wasting disease on everyone they bit.

This game provided examples of:

• Back From the Dead: Big Mommy after she was killed. Some characters also had this reaction when they met dead canonmates from earlier on in their series, or from slightly different versions of their worlds (there were two universes for the Ace Attorney cast: The canon one, and an AU where Mia had moved to Manhattan instead of dying).
• Big Applesauce: A result of the source canon.
• Body Horror: The eventual result of a crab bite: After festering for four months, it would cause a character to transform into another Cloverfield monster. This happened to NPCs on two separate occasions.
  • And I Must Scream: The people who turned into monsters retained their awareness from their human forms, but were fitted with control devices and unable to communicate in any way.
• Break the Cutie: Mostly averted. A lot of the innocent characters got to stay innocent, or at least got stronger without becoming totally broken in the process.
• Crash Into Hello: How many threads started.
• Crazy Enough to Work: Fetching all the dead fish and poisoning them and hoping Big Mommy would eat them all and die? And it worked.
• Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Yes, the characters did poison Big Mommy to death. Sadly there was a spare. Also: The fight against the monsters at the very end.
• Fantastic Racism: The brewing hatred of the outsiders held by some of the native Manhattanites.
• Government Conspiracy: Many characters suspected this. In the end it turned out there was one, but it was a conspiracy to rescue everyone from Tagruato.
• Kaiju: A granted.
• MacGyvering: Given the state of Manhattan, this was a given. Notable in also having the Trope Namer involved here and there.
• Monster Is a Mommy: Not exactly, but everyone called her "Big Mommy".
• Nakama: Many groups of these formed during the game's run.
• Plot-Relevant Age-Up: And age down, thanks to Evangeline's age-bending pills. Led to an in-game Big Lipped Alligator Moment when she spiked a plate of cookies in the Bryant Park Hotel lobby.
• Some Kind of Force Field: There was one of these around the island. Touching it from, for example, the north would transport the character to the corresponding point at the south.
• Tear Jerker: When people started disappearing into thin air near the endgame until no one was left.
• The GM Is a Cheating Bastard: CURSE YOU, MODS

• The Multiverse: How it worked got a nice big (illustrated!) explanation by the mods near the end of the game.
• There Are No Therapists: And boy, could some characters have used one.
• Trapped in Another World: Even the "native Manhattanites" weren't in their home universe anymore. It just wasn't obvious until late in the game.
• Which Me??: There were two versions of many characters in the game at the same time. Characters who dropped and were re-apped had this happen too.
  • One particularly weird one was MacGyver...meeting Jack O'Niell.
• You Can't Go Home Again: Taken for granted, as with most Journal Roleplay games.

• Battle Couple: Riza Hawkeye and Harry Dresden.
• Bokukko: Tatsuki, Yellow, Toph probably.
• Chessmaster: Lelouch, Naoki, Zexion.
• Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Thanks, Birdman.
• Crouching Scholar Hidden Badass: Negi Springfield.
• Cute Bruiser: Toph.
• Dark and Troubled Past: It might be quicker to list the characters who didn't have these.
• Dual-Wielding: Sora.
• Everyone Can See It: Raiel's crush on Garnet; everyone could see it but her.
• Eyepatch of Power: Poor Raiel, he's half the man he used to be...
• Friend to All Living Things: Giselle even defended Big Mommy a few times in verbal debate.
• Giggling Villain: Birdman. There was a Joker for a while too.
• Hates Being Touched: Poor Madotsuki.
• Improbable Weapon User: Sora and the other Keyblade users; Raiel and his piano.
• I'm Having Soul Pains: Pixie whenever evil was around, given the locals this was a problem.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: A few people.
• Magic Music: Audible to the Elite Beat Agents cast. Used by the Violinist Of Hamlin cast.
• Manipulative Bastard: Dahlia, Birdman, Lelouch... there were a bunch of these.
• Motor Mouth: Pixie
• Odd Friendship: Ziva David, Daniel Jackson, and Pika were good friends.
• Ordinary High School Student: There were a bunch of these, too; Bobby Pendragon, Janine Kishi, and Shirley Fenette to name a few.
• Parental Abandonment: A lot of characters had this in their backstory, but Nash did this to Russel in-game.
• Pinocchio Syndrome: Key.
• Purity Personified: Giselle, Iris, Flonne.
• Quintessential British Gentleman: Negi and Orlando.
• The Rainman: Key.
• Rhymes on a Dime: Spin.
• Sibling Team: Many of these were present.
• Sibling Yin-Yang: Russel and Fletcher Tringham, also Harry Dresden and Thomas Raith
• The Unintelligible: Pika, except to Talking Animals and Daniel Jackson. Skysong.
• Unusual Euphemism: Various characters had them if they were from an unusual world, The Dresden Files and Firefly had its usual sets of slang. Pika told Jayne Cobb that his mother was akin to a Ditto.
• Vitriolic Best Buds The laid-back MacGyver and the grim Robert Neville had their moments.
• Walking Techbane: Harry Dresden.
• Wise Beyond Their Years: Many of the pre-teen characters were this in some manner or another.
