WARNING! There are unmarked Spoilers ahead. Beware.
- Awesome Music: It's Hiroyuki Sawano, what did you expect?
- Broken Base: Whether the film taking many things done in Trigger's other properties is a good or bad thing.
- Complete Monster: Governor Kray Foresight seems like a kind philantropist, but is in truth a psychopathic maniac. Being extremely prejudiced against the Burnish despite being one himself, he captures them and drains them of their lives to power up a spaceship so 10000 humans of his liking would escape to another planet, leaving the rest of humanity to die. He shows zero concern for the people close to him, as seen with him murdering his partner to take credit for his inventions and sending Galo to dangerous missions to get rid of him. Subverting any pretense of good intentions, Kray proves to be a despicable madman only concerned with his own glory.
- Ensemble Darkhorse:
- Despite, or better said, because of him being incredibly obvious as a villain, Kray Foresight has a lot of fans, even beating similar fan-favorite Lio in online polls.
- Thyma, the Sacrificial Lion of the movie, also has a decent following.
- Fan-Preferred Couple: Galo and Lio are extremely popular with the fanbase, judging by all the fanart/fanfics. The Ho Yay surrounding the two only drives this home further.
- On a lesser note, it's also common to ship Gueira and Meis together.
- I Knew It!: Many people correctly guessed Kray Foresight would be the villain due to his expressions and marketing poses being indicative of it, to the point the creators stopped hiding it.
- Just Here for Lio Fotia: And how.
- Love to Hate: Kray Foresight is a bonafide Complete Monster Hate Sink in the same vein as Dio Brando, and is all the more popular because of it, as noted in Ensemble Darkhorse above.
- One True Threesome: Galo/Lio/Kray for the gay crowd, Galo/Aina/Lio for the bisexuals.
