All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. What Do You Mean It Wasn't Made on Drugs?: Yarrow insists that the song is entirely innocent and has no meanings beyond the obvious. Nevertheless, it's widely believed that the song is some sort of extended drug reference. (As seen in Meet the Parents; Greg Focker believes this hypothesis)
As far as the song goes, pretty much a case of Death of the Author by a Misaimed Fandom, because, as detailed by the other wiki, the lyrics are based off of something written by Leonard Lipton to get the poem "Custard the Dragon" out of his head. In fact, he gets royalties.
The films have a lot to answer for, what with Puff encouraging children to view the world through insight-granting clouds of smoke.
