Just... to get the obvious one out of the way.
The statement about the whole amnesia thing being a lie is, itself, a lie meant to delude players.[]
Think about it: Even though you're supposed to keep IC knowledge and OOC knowledge separate, sometimes, inevitably, some people do let them bleed together. So, the characters really did fall victim to an amnesia disease and really did dream the events of their canon. Players, however, are told the opposite to keep from having characters comply with the staff's requests quicker than they ICly should.
