General[]

  • Chris is A Father to His Men in his finest, treating his subordinates with trust and care as if they are his siblings, basically what Wesker absolutely isn't. In fact, he shows genuine courtesy and consideration of Rebecca's skills, and even tries to help her pull it together in the remake when she breaks down crying over the loss of her companions, especially Richard.
    • As revealed in novelization of Resident Evil, he finds Rebecca reminding her to Claire. He takes the same role of "big brother" protective figure for the former. Becomes Heartwarming in Hindsight in Resident Evil: Death Island where we see how Rebecca and Claire get along very well and even work together in stopping Dylan Blake's plans.
  • Thanks to remake version of Resident Evil 4, we finally learned how Leon hasn't or certainly won't crazy despite everything he went through: He took his traumatic experiences at Raccoon City as motivation to be able to better save lives:
September 30th, 1998. It's a day I'll never forget. The cop inside me died that day. And that night, Raccoon City was wiped out, thanks to the bioweapons created by Umbrella. Somehow, I made it out. But too many others...weren't so lucky. I was "asked" later to join a top-secret government program. Not that I had a choice. The training, the punishing missions...nearly killed me, but at least they kept my mind off everything. If I could just forget what happened that night - the pain, even for a second? This time, it can be different. It has to.
—Opening narration of Resident Evil 4 remake by Leon.
    • The description of Leon's combat knife revealed it to be a keepsake from Marvin, the officer who helped him even when he was mortally wounded on Leon's first and last day with the Raccoon Police Department.
    • Being the government's dog and therefore not always agree with others doesn't mean he had to play by the rules in order to do the right thing. Damnation shows Leon resorting to go rogue in response of his superiors' uncertainty over bioterrorism throughout East Slavic Civil War which involved Plaga of all things. To further drive this point, Leon took Dylan Blake's accusation of him content in living as government's dog with a grain of salt at best and ignored it at worst.

Video Games[]

  • Resident Evil:
  • Resident Evil 2:
    • Majorities of staffs of RPD revealed to have prepared welcoming party for Leon to ensure he had best first day, which would go smoothly had it not for the damn outbreak...
    • Given that Sherry is quite the Woobie who tends to hug Claire a lot she can get a few 'Awww's' out of the player.
  • Resident Evil Code: Veronica:
    • The fact that Claire broke into an Umbrella base to find her brother, and then continued to search for him even after being captured. And the fact that the moment he heard she was in danger Chris instantly sprung into action, climbed up the rock face of the island and then flew a plane to Antartica to find Claire in return.
  • Resident Evil 4:
    • As shown in the remake, the flashback him, Claire, snd Ashley managed to escape Raccoon City shows that Leon's involvement in Raccoon City Incident wasn't bad at all.
    • Any time Ashley and Leon reunite in Resident Evil 4, especially when they hug after Ashley gets out of the prison area after dealing with two Zealots and the living suits of armor that try to kill her. Then you know it was worth going through hell without a weapon.
      • Also late in the game when Leon and Ashley use the removal machine to get rid of their plagas, Ashley hugs Leon again in relief.
    • Saving the white dog. It doubles when it later comes to help you fight the El Gigante.
      • Applied to remake version also. Many players were horrified by the sight of a dead dog in the same spot as the white one from original version. To their relief however, the white dog is stuck near Bitorez's home.
  • Resident Evil 5:
    • Chris not giving up on Jill despite the latter labelled as KIA during the mission at Spencer mansion is paid-off when they finally reunited albeit in less than eventful circumstances. In response of her Heroic Sacrifice stunt and discovery of traces of T-Virus inside her, Wesker experimented on Jill and even put her into Brainwashed and Crazy state. During the fateful "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight, Chris managed to reach her and subsequently removed the scarab which Wesker used to mind-control her with Sheva's help. To top it off, Chris and Sheva forgive Jill and reassure her that the blame for her actions as a brainwashed pawn is Wesker's alone.
    • Though they become partners very recently, it's clear Sheva is a loyal and dependable friend to Chris throughout their mission together; she insists to remain on his side and soldier on despite Chris' worries that things will likely too hectic for her to handle (to be fair, it will be and he knows it from experience). Having her joining him when the mission becomes personal upon learning Jill's possible survival is a wise choice as that ensures his odds against his brainwashed friend later on.
      • When it appeared Sheva is about to pull Heroic Sacrifice not unlike Jill did, Chris takes the risk of fighting Albert again and stops her fall, unwilling to suffer another loss.
    • Chris finds the reason to continue battling bioterrorism at last upon reflecting how he manages to save Jill and ensure Sheva won't perish or endure ordeals similar to the former (a future without fear).
